Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hi folks. I'm having issues with 10 rnd ETM magazines in Trojan. If i try to drop a mag with ammo in it, it's often stuck because the top round tends to follow the slide and the bullet touches the frame. Any ideas for a fix? Would shortening the mag spring make a difference? Or how much impact does the rate of the recoil spring have? Any info appreciated, thanks, c
  2. Thanks for the ideas. Solution will be something to do with the gun, not the way i grip, as my Baer does not bite me at all. Smoothing the slide serrations and rounding the back end of the left rail of the slide might be what i´ll try, if i don´t find good enough beavertail. I´ll start looking for Ed Brown to check it out. Thanks! Juha
  3. Hello folks! What would be your suggestions for a new beavertail that is wide, and doesn´t let the gun sit too deep in the hand? With the original on my Trojan, my thumb is easily in the way of the backwards moving slide, which leads to having to clean blood off the hammer, slide and safeties. All suggestions to solve the problem are very welcome! Thanks, Juha
  4. Yes, sure! Sorry, i forgot to mention that i shoot production, so no grinding possible Otherwise, there would be only a little left of my gun´s left hand safety lever J
  5. This is good.. I recently worked quite a bit to get a high grip on my Shadow. Did a lot of dry firing and practice draws. Now my support hand´s thumb meat is resting on the left side safety and engaging it occasionally during shooting, causing failures to fire a shot. Damn! I do have these slightly thinner CZ-custon aluminum grips, and they might let the support hand "too close" to the frame of the gun. Have you guys had any same sort of issues, and if, how did you solve them? Or am i destined to have a lower grip on the gun EDIT: no grinding possible, shooting ipsc production. Thanks in advance! Juha
  6. "Honestly it boils down to the PARTICULAR example in your hot little hands." +1 My first 1911 is LB P2 i got a couple of weeks ago. I was so in flames at the gunshop when picking it up that i didn´t notice the front sight is tilted to the left. You don´t pay big euros (or bucks) for Baer to have that. No probs so far, the dealer agreed on this and the gun is heading to smith to get checked. Just hope it´s the sight and not the cut.. Anyway, totally reliable so far and was easy and great fun to shoot in a match. Even if i only had 500 rnds through it before. c
