  1. Hey all, I'm new to action shooting, want to try to be able to shoot in the most events possible, whichever will improve my skills the most. So now I'm considering jumping over to CZ. What model should I be looking for if that's the case? A production gun would be nice I guess. Any thoughts for a beginner wanting to do it right with CZ?? Thanks, Aaron
  2. Hey all, Could I get some of your opinions? I started shooting about a year and a half ago. I've been going weekly, joined a club, bought basically almost every handgun out there to find what I like, but want to now finally get into some sort of action shooting comp. I love 1911's. I currently have a 2011, but decided I don't want that much money wrapped up in one gun. Plus, I'm just beginning, I don't need something that nice. My most recent plan was to use my Glock 35 and just shoot that as much as I can. It has a Heine rear and a dawson FO front sight. Other than that, just standard. BUT I just don't love to shoot it like my 1911's or also CZ's. Can CZ be a competitive option for a beginner? Or should I just swallow my pride and vanity and just shoot the Glock?? Thanks everyone!
  3. Please forgive me if I'm mixing up disciplines, but don't you have to apply the safety when you holster the gun? I thought that was the speed advantage to a Glock? Thanks
  4. 3.6gr Titegroup behind 180gr laser cast lead. That's what I use.
  5. I use the 3.6gr just fine in my 35 with KKM.
  6. The $.25 job with a ghost rocket is the ritz.
  7. I've had no problem with my dawson and it's the thin one.
  8. This is going to save a lot of money, I wonder if LEO's will be allowed to carry with optic...
  9. Ugh, right when I think I get what I want out of my G35. Oh, and you only have to be in a gun store for just about 5 minutes before you hear a silly question. If people didn't have to act like they knew everything all the time... *sigh*
  10. Love love love KKM. Lone Wolf may be good, but KKM has the reputation.
  11. +1 on this. Very good overall practice
  12. I think that would be good for your self esteem as well as your shooting skills. A lot of this sport is in the mind.
  13. There are so many awesome platforms out there, I just can't bring myself to dedicate myself to one system. I have Glocks, but along with some 1911's.
  14. Awesome. Thanks a lot. Anyone have a suggestion on what a good starter event would be? Thanks so so much!
  15. Not sure, I'm not available on Saturdays, but Sundays I'm clear. Need to find some local clubs to shoot in.

    CZ Tactical Sport

I used mine quite a bit and never had an issue. Kinda strange to include one.

    Favorite Lube

I like the Wilson Combat Ulti-Lube. Seems to work great so far without attracting a bunch of grime.
  18. Bore snake after each shooting session. full breakdown about once a month
  19. I've found 180gr to be great. Especially if you reload, you can produce a real light load.
  20. Shoot a 2011, carry a shield. Just can't bring myself to rely on one of those smaller 1911's. Just too finicky
  21. To me, it's a no brainer if you reload. You can get pretty low recoiling .40 with the right powder and load.
  22. I really can't get used to 6oclock. It just seems wrong to me. Maybe I'm weird, but that's what it feels like to me. Especially nowadays with fiber optic sights.
