  1. Did you do digital camo? I wouldn't camo one of my guns unless it was digital camo. I don't know how to spray on a digital camo pattern but would appreciate any tips. I think to do a good job at digital camo you need to hydro dip. But if you have tips on a spray digital camo pattern I'd be interested in hearing them.
  2. Great feedback. I have a Glock 34 that I bought with a ZEV trigger in it. The trigger is lighter than the stock trigger in my 35 but kind of mushy. I may have to go to a GSSF match to get the ZEV swapped out for a factory trigger. Learning more about the intricacies of Glock maintenance would be an added bonus.
  3. Registration for the PSA Shootout in Palmyra opens tomorrow - if you haven't shot it you're missing out!
  4. Impress other Timmies at the local IDPA match.
  5. I contacted Apex. They had nothing to say I'd settle for a press release from Walther.
  6. The lack of info on this gun is ridiculous. Walther actually had a press conference slot at SHOT and still nothing. A PPQ setup for slide mounted optics and with a factory apex trigger would be sweet.
  7. According to Phil, it wasn't about the shooters who wanted Production Optics, it was about giving the plastic gun manufacturers a place where their guns were competitive. And here I keep hearing about it being the Indian and not the bow... To be fair, the place plastic guns are most competitive is in the hands of people like Vogel.
  8. Normal. Unless you have the gun and the gauge in a jig you are not pulling the gauge the same way every time, and pulling at an angle or on a different part of the trigger will cause different results.
  9. Sometimes you'll see the REALLY fast guys do this. . . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVD7Luck954 Most baller reload with retention ever.
  10. IDPA Division? Must draw from concealment, use cover, and Tac reload?
  11. I'm in the try different bullets camp. Try some JHPs and some coated. My Glock did fine with the Xtremes, my STI not so much.
  12. You're legal with FOPA. I personally would stop for gas before you leave MD and not again until NH. If you have to stop RI is the only state w no Hi-Cap restrictions. I'm in RI and shoot in PA and NH / ME so go through the bad states. Be smart, drive carefully and you'll be fine. Once in ME use the hotel safe or keep them locked in your bags. You could keep them in the trunk too - not sure that I would do that but whatever works for you. I'll probably be combining a family trip to NH and ME with area 7.
  13. Another vote for Magtech (CBC). Also unnecessary.
  14. What a retailer charges you for shipping, what they pay for shipping, and what you would pay for shipping, will all be different.
  15. What did the builder say? Seems like a lot of play, but if it shot great I might overlook it.
  16. No ports in the barrel - those are the same lightening slots the PPQ 5" uses. There are rumors it will come from the factory with the Apex trigger. If so this could become the CO unicorn.
  17. Bastiges. Take my money please. But first more 9mm opens.
  18. 20 - 25 years too late. Sounds about right for colt.
  19. Not really. Your Xtreme 124s and Acme 125s have a different profile than the bullets OP was shooting and that makes all the difference in the world.
  20. Different guns have different leades. Walthers tend to be in the short side. You may be right on the edge of a workable OAL with some chambering and some not. Could be the brass too.
  21. What makes you think an OAL of 1.160 is fine? Just because it's below SAAMI spec doesn't mean that it will chamber appropriately, which depends on OAL, Bullet Profile, and Leade Profile. You may not see rifling marks, especially with FMJ bullets. Do a plunk test.
  22. Your local fire code likely sets limits as outlined above. Enforcement is generally non-existent, and no, your insurance company won't deny your claim of you exceed code and your house burns down. That said, the NFPA provides safe storage guidelines that a prudent reloader would follow. For example, storing smokeless powder in a 1" nominal thickness wood cabinet ensures that the cabinet will have ventilated (burned through) before the powder can ignite preventing explosions.
  23. Slides are the same. There's a good thread on milling guns from scratch somewhere around here - making a 1911 or something like that.
