  1. I'm looking at the x ring. The only time I'm focused on the dot is at 50 yards when my focus alternates between the dot and the trigger. The thing to remember is, wherever you look the dot will go there. That's why DWFAN shoots all those 8's on the mover. He's scoring his target as he shoots.
  2. The main problem that I see with the 9 is reliability. Powder selection is limited. 9mm cases, even from the same manufacturer, differ in case capacity and dimensions. DWFAN is one of the only 9mm shooters that does really well that I know. John Pride got so fed up with his that he sold it and went back to a revolver. The good news is that if you can't get it to be reliable, you could always ream it to 9x23.
  3. Sounds good. Looks like World's match fee is not as bad as I thought. Hope everyone is doing well down there.
  4. Yea, they kind of suck, don't they.
  5. Travis and I didn't have to go.
  6. That is precisely the idea of the 1050. Saves time loading therefore more time shooting.
  7. Get a 1050. You'll run out of brass.
  8. It's about time. Loaded 10k in Feb. Match ammo loaded for the entire year. I have two 50 cal ammo cans left for practice until the end of May. It may get a little tight.
  9. I'll check when I get home. I may still have one.
  10. Ed, Get it railed, use a 6" KKM barrel and an aluminum comp. Have the gunsmith install a jam nut behind the comp. Use the green sleeve locker locktite to hold it all together. The jam nut allows you to tighten them together so you don't have to use a screw. The aluminum comp allows the use of heavier recoil springs and the 6" barrel allows a lighter powder charge. If you need a good gunsmith to do it, let me know.
  11. I just ordered a pair of Decot's. I have seen a few pairs and theirs seem to be of very high quality. They stay far enough from your face to minimize the chance of fogging. I bought them because my prescription is now stronger and optical center is now crucial. I also ordered the adjustable bridge so that I can shoot prone. They suggested that I get the brown transitions lenses so I am going to give them a try. They were very helpful.
  12. Striping doesn't help a bit. You'll have to wait for the thaw. I'd say to wait for Spring, but hell, it's already here and Winter just won't let go. I'm still not complaining though. It will be 100 before we know it. They say it will be 55 in Bedford on Sat. so I'm going to try and get some things done.
  13. Oh heck no. Day two of the Crawfish cup was bad enough, give me 80 and sunny any day of the week. Where is your sense of adventure? There is nothing like going prone on the mat in the snow. One has to get used to shooting while you are sliding towards the targets. As far as ammo goes, I don't feel comfortable unless I have 400 match rounds and a full 50 cal ammo can for practice.
  14. Too bad it's not like that in May.
  15. Do you normally shoot factory stuff or reload your own? Like others have said, factory stuff is hard to find. When I went to NZ for the Worlds I brought 1k cases with me and loaded them there. I had the components waiting on me there. This may be your best option if DC Ammo can't help you out.
  16. No. It provides the lead on the mover so all we have to do is aim at the center.
  17. What is the distance between the firing line and the backstop? If there is 25 yards or more, there is a way. Install the 2 ends of the mover on rails that run perpendicular to the backstop. After the shooter has finished the runs at 10 yards, move the 2 ends 5 yards down range. Run the 15 yard line and move the ends 5 more yards. Shoot the 20 yard line and move it 5 more yards for the 25. Each rail would have to be 45ft long. It certainly wouldn't be the ideal way to do things but if there is a will there is a way.
  18. I figured he would bring the girls and stuff their bags with bullets. Then use the money he gets from the bullets to buy the girls clothes when they get here. He'll probably buy another car and fill it up with goodies to go back there. I can already hear the wheels turning in his head figuring how many bullets he can get in each bag.
  19. Just be sure that when shooting Bianchi that all the bullets are the same. You can't shoot different ammo.
  20. I don't think we are there just yet. You may want to throw a few in your bag though.
  21. As bad as I hate to say this, you may have to start the season with Montana Gold. I haven't heard about the latest backlog but no one has anything right now. MG is even limiting orders to one case. Terry has been ordering them. The word that I'm getting is 6 to 9 months until things start to get better. How many do you need?
