  1. Maybe I've been sleeping or this just came up. Received one of the competition emails and in there was an article on Carolyn Chin. I was curious because this woman is the one that calls you if you don't get your match fees to NRA. She calls you but you can't get a hold of her. Anyways, to the right of that article was a blurb about Bianchi. I clicked on it and read about the format. At the bottom was a 'New for this Year". It says all Production guns must fit into a box. What box?? How big is this box? Is it big enough to hold a revolver??
  2. You are very welcome. Was glad to have the chance to do it.
  3. Coatsey, As you know, I like the format change but agree with everything else. Tim, I believe that Bruce is having to much fun in retirement. Besides, who would want that headache.
  4. Normal meaning the gun that I normally shoot. Your gun is basically the same as mine. It does well in all the other events. I have proven it over and over. I actually do shoot Bianchi for the prize money. It helps to defray my costs.
  5. Exactly! I disagree about the guns. The only event that I don't shoot my normal gun in is the speed event.
  6. What I'm saying is that unless you can get one or two of the four events changed, those of us that want a change will get that easier with the current format. I would like to see metallic and production have more participants. Making the top 4 in each of these categories is just as hard as doing it in open. Leave the special categories alone. Quite frankly, I wouldn't go watch someone shoot on saturday if I wasn't involved in it either. I try to look at things from a newer shooter perspective and think about what I was going through when I started. I believe that a shooter needs to set goals and strive to achieve them.
  7. Ummm. No. Not at all. USPSA matches come from the match directors ingenuity, not a rulebook listing courses of fire.
  8. That is exactly what I was saying. I don't want to shoot the same four events again. I want the Bianchi Cup to represent all of Action Pistol, not just four of the events. There are shooters in our sport that just want to shoot the four events. I have been told by some that they like that because they can step away from the sport for a while and then come back and see where they are. Others just want to use the four events as a measure of how they improved or struggle with. All that is fine if that's all they want. The current Cup format allows for that. I want more! I want a true test of a shooters ability not something that has been practiced over and over with the only variable being match conditions.
  9. That's what we had. The only thing the speed event has to do with A/P is that it happens to be in the rulebook. The vast majority of shooters don't shoot the same gun as they do in the 4 events. To my knowledge, the only TV coverage that the speed event saw was back in the 90's.
  10. Sorry GM, I disagree. Shoot the first four events to qualify. I have said this before, we are shooting the National Action Pistol Championship. We are not shooting the National Practical, Barricade, Mover and Plate Championship. The Steel shoot off was a yawner at best. Most of the shooters that took part got to fire 20 rounds and leave. It ended up being an event that just had the feeling of hurry up and get it over with. At least with this past years format, we actually got to shoot more rounds with the gun that we normally shoot. I just don't get it when someone says they don't like the format because it's only for the "elite" shooters. We all had to start somewhere. Set goals and strive to meet them. When I first went to Bianchi, my goal was to make the top 16. It took a few years but I made it.
  11. I like the current Saturday format although I would like to see different events shot. At 8 AM saturday, pull four event names out of a hat that the range can handle. That's what you shoot.
  12. I did a search for National Magazines. Found the site but they didn't list them. They would stick too far out the bottom of the gun. This would cause the mag to jam into the bottom of the slide causing jams. It would also be like shooting off a pogo stick while prone.
  13. I'll be there come hell or high water. No way I'm going to miss this one. Need to get my butt in gear. Gun needs to be tuned up, new house, wedding, work work work. Ugh! Been a crazy but great year. This trip will be the pinnacle.
  14. Most of us that could give you an opinion on that, lurk here. A pic would help. Also, round count, barrel maker and type.
  15. You'll get more exposure here. Post it in the classifieds and then make a post here saying it is in the classifieds.
  16. Yes. Brand new Dillon mats. Now that will be interesting, nice new spongy, bouncy mats..... With the referee at the Crawfish Cup questioning the start position when going prone....seems like best thing to do is not allow going prone, that way mats are not needed. Tom Don't even start that crap again! We've been down that road already. Things got ugly. Simple solution, stand up just like you were shooting from the standing position. They can't get you for creeping that way.
  17. Hey! I paid for my first cup and every one since they did away with the certs. Thank you very much.
  18. Both, We may have to have an official opening of the Embassy at some stage. Let you know when. Lol. Will be looking forward to it.
  19. Going to the zoo or being released from it? Lol See ya in Columbia. Hope you all have a good trip.
  20. Yes, Bianchi. I might have received that email. Usually we receive our competitor number.
  21. Nope. Nothing. Only reason I know I'm signed up is the transaction appeared on my cc statement. I hear we won't know anything until check in.
  22. Hi Coatsey. I will definitely be there along with my beautiful fiancee. I could take or leave the format change. It's a start, but it needs more. It's mostly about seeing old friends and qualifying for the teams to go down to your neck of the woods. When will you be arriving? Richard? Going to Michigan?
  23. The primer slide has changed. It no longer uses the rubber tubing. My machine works much better now. Been using the 650 primer tube for the last few years, I'll never go back to the blue tip. Loaded 2k rounds today. Had a few with no primer and 2 with the primer in sideways. I need to clean my machine. Been too lazy. Lol
  24. If you don't tell them anything then they'll write 1911.
