  1. www.dillonaero.com is correct. Think how many military sales they have world wide. The military contracts far exceeds the press business.
  2. Ironically the reloading side of Dillon is not their primary source of revenue. They make far more off of the gun side.
  3. Warning! It is addicting. I did my first match in July 2013. In that short time I have shot more than 20 local matches and will do my first major match next month (Area-1 Championship). Best advice I was given, slow down. The speed will come. Be safe and don't get DQ'd.
  4. Not locking back after last round could also be a worn follower.
  5. The frame of the 17,34, and 35 are all the same. The uppers of all three can be interchanged.
  6. Sarge, If you have a USPSA card you are good to go. Makes no sense as anyone can join USPSA. The main reason for the drawn out process is safety of the club members. On one hand it is a real pain in the ass. On the other hand our club has 5000 member and only 12 action range pistol bays. A member must complete the process in order to use the action ranges. The benefit is not many members take the time to become certified so those of us that are have little trouble getting a bay for practice. For matches, if you have your card you can shoot.
  7. Our club is very strict. To shoot on the action range at all it requires a 4 hour classroom session with written test. Then a full day of live fire approximately 400 rounds. On the live fire you are critiqued just like in an actual match. Break the 180, AD, finger on trigger, etc gets you DQ'd. Once you pass that you have to compete in one match without getting DQ'd then you are certified.
  8. I have been using the Taran's on my G34 and they have been flawless through about 20k rounds so far.
  9. Check out the SIG 1911's. A lot of gun for the money.
  10. I just sort through about 2500 rounds and found 12 SP cases. Pain in the butt.
  11. Remove the set screw from the side of the ram then lower it and remove the center bolt.
  12. 5-gallon Home Depot buckets with lids should be fine. I wouldn't bother cleaning them until you are ready to use them.
  13. I am new to loading within the last couple of months. I had the opportunity to test drive a friends 550 and a 650. I jumped in and bought the 650. After watching the Dillon DVD setup was easy. Right now I am just running 9mm. So far I have cranked out about 5k rounds. It is a very easy press to use. Rather than buying a starter press and then later upgrading I vote for the 650. I started from scratch so I needed everything. My total investment was right at $2k. That includes caliber conversions to do 9mm, 10mm, and .45. Other than powder, primers, and bullets I ordered everything I needed straight from Dillon. Dies, gages, etc. What came to me was a turn key setup. I was loading within a couple of hours of opening the boxes.
  14. My 650 is new. Somewhere around 5k rounds so far. My OAL is pretty consistent. My target OAL is 1.150. My results are 1.146-1.150. You are seeing a .016 variance. That has to be affecting your FPS.
  15. Spent some time with the chrono this morning to try some new loads with VV N340. I am looking for an alternative 9mm minor load to my current Bullseye recipe. The VV load chart showed 3.8gr as the minimum load for 147gr RN Rainier bullet. No data for Montana Gold. So I loaded 15 rounds each at 3.8gr, 3.6gr, and 3.4 gr. Based on the load sheet estimated velocity of 892 fps at 3.8gr. I ran the 3.8gr loads first and cam out with an average PF of 127. Very low/soft recoil. I liked the load however it is very close to not making minimum minor PF. I plan to try another 15 rounds at 3.9gr. The 3.6gr loads barely had enough to cycle the gun. Average PF was 121. Not enough for my needs. The 3.4gr loads would not cycle the gun. Bullet left the barrel just fine but not enough juice to cycle the slide. All shot through a Glock Gen-4 34 with a stock recoil assembly. Bullets used for all tests were Montana Gold 147gr CMJ's Primers were Federal match grade. Brass was mixed head stamped range brass.

    Sig P320

Haven't shot one yet. Fondled both models at the Shot Show. Sig did a nice job with it. One of the best stock triggers I have felt in a striker fired gun.
  17. It's a wear item. If it were harder material it would likely cause the shell plate to wear which is much more expensive to replace.
  18. Nuke is correct. I had the same issue on my Gen-4 when new. The upper pin would start to work it's way out after a few rounds. What I found after disassembly and cleaning was this. When installing the pin if you insert it slowly you can feel a slight detent "bump" as it seats in place. You may have to remove and install it a few times to find that sweet spot. Go slow you will feel it. Once you feel it stop. The pin is seated properly. My pin has not backed out since.
  19. Are you still using the factory sights? I had issues with the plate rack with factory sights. The stock front sight is so wide it covers most of the plate. That is a very tough classifier (looked it up).
  20. Sarge, I went to www.mannyusa.com and do not see MG bullets or any reloading supplies?
  21. I am getting ready to try a little N340 I found. Haven't seen any N320 in months.
  22. If you didn't already order some reloading manuals. I am new to loading and jumped in with a 650. A little steeper learning curve but not bad. Once up and running you will wonder why it took you so long to start. The Dillon DVD is well worth the price. Watch it before you set up. Make sure your table is sturdy and does not flex.
  23. I am running the Zev fulcrum with that same striker setup in both my 34's. 20k+ rounds and they have been flawless. I did have an issue with a Zev race connector in a different gun. I called the shop and they set a new one right out. Had it the next day. Call the shop they will make it right.
  24. I am a fairly new USPSA shooter (less than a year) and not an RO. First thing I did after joining USPSA, read the rule book. DQ should not have been over turned. MD was out of line.
