  1. I dont believe so. The Para mag well and trigger bow are wider than the STI type
  2. Thats a pretty definitive statement, Thanks for the input
  3. You probably are, you shouldn't even see the NS, just the spot on the target you want to hit. Yes, this was apparent at the last Harvard Shoot. Before the buzzer I joked, "Dont shoot the white guys" The RO ( I think was Dandini at the time ) Said, "No, Shoot "A's"..... I then proceeded to shoot too fast, and shoot the crap out of the No Shoots. As usual, once that happens the remaining stages usually go straight to hell as well.
  4. At this point I will be finishing out the rest of this year with my SS minor rig and jumping into the Limited game next year. I still have a lot to learn, and the SS Minor is a great in expensive way to do it. I started off the year late, but with a few real decent ( for me ) classifier scores that would have got me pretty close to a B initial classification. I then proceeded to shoot 6 more classifiers in the same month in which a totally blew up and ended up barely making "C". Ive realized I need to continue to work out some bad habits, and I've also let certain things in matches like classifier stages and no shoots get into my head big time. I swear I can shoot A's all day until you throw a no shoot into the mix! Its like Im aiming for the damn things! I'm insanely excited about the custom pistol, but Im glad to have the cost associated with building it over. I will likely have a Frank build me another pistol ( SS in .40 for SS and L10 ) but this current build was a little over the top for my budget! the amount of shoot I did this year suffered as there was not the same amount of money for components with the amount of money I had tied up with the build and a POS Para Pro Custom ( What a mess, I still have yet to receive a refund from Para ) Best part of this year has been attending more matches and getting more comfortable asking the better shooters questions. We have a lot of good shooters in a concentrated area up here in the North East. I have 3 club within an hour of my that host monthly USPSA matches, with my home club, Harvard Sportsmans Club being probably one of the best
  5. Did you get your new gun yet? Any updates? Yes, New pistol from Frank arrived last week. I havent shot it yet, as Im still acquiring components to reload .40 and I need a holster. The build wasnt without a few small misses in communication, but Frank is taking care of me on that. Pistol looks great and seems fitted extremely well. Im already discussing a second pistol build by Mr Frank Glenn ( Pics when I figure out how to post them here ) Anyone got an extra holster they want to part with?
  6. Is air soft a viable practice tool? I had never thought of that before.... New England winters are cold, long and boring. Shooting in a fixed firing line at a indoor range isn't much fun during those times either.
  7. I would have no issues with my Wilson mags if they didn't hit the dirt.... IMHO, the design with the plastic follower / spacer is just not great of your mags are going to hit the ground
  8. Both are a pain in the butt for me to get in the communist state of massachusetts... if you had to pick one?
  9. This pistol really interests me... any thoughts on a comparison between the FNS LS and the M&P9l?
  10. Makes me even more sad I live in a communist state... pain in the butt to find these anywhere near that price
  11. I also had to trim 1 coil to get my 9mm mags reloadable
  12. Wilson ETM's in my 9mm S&W Pro Series. I've had no failures in the gun at all, but i dislike the plastic follower / plastic spacer as it builds dirt quickly. I find myself disassembling mags during matches to clean them. I will not be buying any more
  13. Most frustrating thing I did was go from M&P, to Glock, then to 1911 / 2011.... Being new and not skilled, this has been expensive and frustrating. So much so that I 've sold everything that doesnt have the same or simialr grip angle to my 1911 and 2011. Some people seem to be amble to bounce back and forth, at this point I'm not one of them!
  14. I shoot a 9mm S&W Pro Series 1911 for SS Minor. Gun has been good. I wish I didnt have $300+ into Wilson mags, they suck. Gun has run perfect with only 1 issue with one of my reloads with thousands of rounds through it this season. The Wilson mags are dumb, with the crappy follower, and stupid plastic insert / spacer that just begs to have dirt get clogged in it. I also had to cut 1 coil off the springs to get the 9mm mags re loadable
  15. I've shot all my matches this year with a S&W Pro Series 9mm 1911. I set it up over last year as a decayed uspsa pistol... the gun has been great ( I have not! ) I had only ever previously shot a few matches in uspsa production and already reloaded 9mm so it was a great way for me to start. That being said, I want a SS in .40. I had a Limited pistol built for next season in .40 and I think the versatility and sharing of componets between the two pistol would be good. I also like the idea that a .40 SS can be good for both SS major and minor but also a good contender as a Limited 10 pistol. As usual I feel kinda silly posting here, as I'm not am experienced / good shooter, but if I was going to do it again, I would have a pistol built in .40 to start with
  16. Thanks BeerBaron for the reply. I'm new, and this sport is expensive so spending 150-200+ to try a holster is not a great option.... The CW5 might be a good way to find out what I want
  17. How sturdy is the pistol in the holster? I'm looking forca, holster for my 2011 type limited build
  18. This may not be the right place to ask, but.... I'm new to Limited pistol game having just received my 1st pistol built for that division. I've been trying to make up my mind on which holster to go with having never used a "race" holster.... Frankly, do I really need one? I completely understand as a master level shooter every micro second counts, but as a "C" shooter just starting migjt I be better off with a Kydex holster of hybrid style holster like the Blade Tech Speed Rig?

    P18 for multigun?

Sorry, wasnt trying to be rude pointing that out

    P18 for multigun?

Slide and frame are both stainless steel
  21. How about your weak hand (or off hand) grip?
  22. I think my ordeal with Para is finally (almost) over.... Ultimately it appears Para is going to do the right thing, but it was not easy to get there. My pro custom 10:45 is in a box on its way back, never to return. I will be very glad to have my money back and be done with this. I am thankful for Travis, who was very very helpful in this whole process.... offering his help and even to personally modify some mags to make things work if need be. That right there is character! Doug in customer service is a very professional, polite person who tolerate my daily phone calls and emails in getting this resolved. Chris, is extremely short staffed and it shows. Once I got a hold of him he was very interested in helping, but that took nearly 3 weeks I will be very glad to be done with this! Lessons learned I guess
  23. this is the stuff that makes me nervous! 9mm minor is so damn easy to load, and my S&W pro series 1911 in 9mm in just about the least fussy pistol to load for. ( from the other stuff i own )
  24. I should add... I don't have a chrono. Loading minor 9 is safe and easy. Should a chrono be part of my purchases for setting up to reload 40 major?
  25. Im starting to aquire the conversion parts for my 550b to begin reloading .40 for my custom limited pistol that is just about finished up until this point I have only loaded 9 and 5.56. I've got a fair amount of primers but typically only buy titegroup powder. I also typically buy xtreme plated bullets. These will be major pf loads out of a 5" bar-so barrel Thought for the new guy?
