  1. If you can run them reliably and accurately, use the heavier ammo. 55gr won't move a flasher as well, sometimes to the point where RO's miss hits. Much lower chance of that issue with 77gr.
  2. Ar15.com has a competition forum and might get some traffic, gunbroker if the right person comes along or just things it's cool. Here is the only place to guarantee you're selling to the right market. Also practiscore is rolling out a new classifieds feature which is cool as it will show up on matches that are local to you. I don't think it's getting enough traffic to the point that it's being used extensively quite yet. BLUF: don't put all your chips in one basket.
  3. The Kinetics shooting team didn't exist in 2017, and I was wondering the same thing a few weeks ago. My guess is that it was just too much for most. They were very pricey and only relevant to competition. I only saw one of those in the wild that wasn't in the hands of the shooting team.
  4. Just had a teammate make GM today shooting Limited minor. He shoots a 2011, but still, this is half of the argument haha
  5. The MO3GC is the only other example I use of a well-ran On-Off schedule. You guys do a great job of keeping things on schedule. Additionally, the other reason I advocate for it in YOUR case specifically, is that there is unfortunately nothing to do off the range. The drive to decent meals is a bit far, and there are no attractions, so even if we were doing AM/PM, I would probably be at the range the whole day anyway.
  6. Bump! I just wanted to remind everyone that it is legal to bring all your fun toys into California when you are registered to shoot a match at a shooting range. So your regular tac-ops, open toys are legal to bring into state to shoot. You'd be wise to keep them locked and out of sight while not at the range, and keep a printout of your registration with you. Also, the hosting club has changed its name from California Shooting Arcade to Northern California Multigun.
  7. FYI, the active QLEO version of this licenses suffices in California to be able to buy off-roster. I am Active Duty AF LEO stationed in California, and I was able to use my LEOSA ID to purchase a race gun (off-roster).
  8. I've made up alpha's with alphas before, so I view this is irrelevant. Nobody fires the gun with the hand over the slide, that is quite clearly an attempt to unload. DQ in my opinion.
  9. Adam installed mine as well. I have been shooting with a nitro fin on my limited gun and knew I'd want a pedal for the open gun. My racker wouldn't come out so I had to give it a few good smacks with a nylon hammer to pop out of the detent. Probably will have to do that a few more times until I can just pull it, so I'll be carrying around the hammer in my range back for the time being! haha
  10. Picked it up last night. Unfortunately it will be Friday before I get to shoot it, but that gives me time to tune some of my own mags and dry fire with it a little so I don't embarrass myself.
  11. Suggestions: Interviews Match etiquette What to bring to major matches Loving the podcast so far!
  12. Watching the sight lift is a necessary skill to call a shot. I think you're taking the term "watch lift" and translating that to "track the dot during the duration of recoil," which I agree is not necessary. I would argue a good shooter who can isolate the trigger pull and has good sight focus may not need to watch the sight lift for most shots, but as the distance increases, yes because even minor changes in the body and trigger pull could throw a shot, and only seeing the sight lift can tell you where the shot went. I have nothing to contribute as to how to fix the original issue haha
  13. Dude nice! Did you ask for that case? Mine came in a soft case. It's more practical, but dang that's nice looking and I want it!
  14. When I had a Dawson CRP Eagle, the rear sight was loose from the factory. They paid for a shipping label, and I had it returned 7 days later with a new sight. So I did have a good experience with their customer service, but it is also another example of it not being right the first time. Let us know when you get it back, I would bet you'll have a good experience. Side note: not the first time I've heard of front sights being put on backwards! haha
  15. It avoids the rifle designation by the barrel not having rifling (or just straight rifling, can't remember). The bullet itself resembles a dart and has stabilizing fins. Manufacturer claims 4 MOA at 50yards (2 inches), but tends to destabilize after that distance. So pay $2K for a gun that is only usable within 50 yards, ammo is going to be super expensive, probably have awful ballistics, and run the risk of being regulated. Not to mention the old police officer isn't going to know that it's not an SBR when you get pulled over. No thanks.
  16. Not worth it in my opinion. I buy my 55 grain and receive 77 grain through my sponsorship, but for those few people I know that do reload for 3-gun, many times they stick to long range ammo only because the cost-savings are a little greater and making 1/2 MOA ammo for long-range actually has benefits in the match. 2 MOA burner ammo works fine for me. Everyone's finances are different, but unless you are super strapped for cash, my advice is to just buy the ammo.
  17. I think there are plenty of of Glock production shooters that could throw down some GM scores in Limited, especially if you shoot the right classifiers, i.e. steel-heavy arrays, close-up, and no-reloads. Still possible otherwise, but those things would minimize the advantage that a nicer Ltd gun helps with.
  18. I will be able to when I pick it up on Saturday. Those two are all I took at the store. If I remember correctly, I ordered the Atlas stainless steal magwell. They just added them to their website for purchase.
  19. Maintaining quality while increasing output is definitely difficult. I guess I just thought I'd hear more buzz out, but there are plenty of high quality gunsmiths that have been pumping out guns but not creating much buzz IMO: rafferty, EMG, etc.
  20. I was hoping they would take off more than they have, unless they are intentionally keeping a small profile. Haven't met anyone with one of their guns, but they sure are good looking.
  21. As pictured is how it came from the factory. My only "additions" that aren't standard is the thumb rest and DPP.
  22. 3-gun. I can count on two hands how many times I've seen 9mm 2011's in USPSA in 4+ years and well over 100 matches.
