    New Glock Colors?

Rocket, that is a seriously cool looking frame! You could trade in Red for Carbon fiber. Rick
  2. Heard the same thing; haven't heard of any solutions to the questions though. Rick
  3. Ben is the third GM. Last time I looked there were only 18 in the whole country. Congrats again on making it Ben. The match will be wonderful. Ben are you shooting there this Sunday? Rick
  4. I'll be there Ben. Looking forward to a great shoot. Rick
  5. Thanks, I'll pass this one along to Perry. Appreciate the help Eric. Rick
  6. I called Perry at work on the phone. 21.5 External modifications other than sights not allowed. That was his take on it. It was not originally offered on the gun. He would like to use the Elite II mag release on his own gun. Can anyone point me to an John Amidon ruling or a posting on the NROI web site saying anything different? He suggested that I contact Amidon if I wanted to investigate further.
  7. I'll send Perry an email and ask him to explain it to me better. I probably made a mistake somewhere and want to get to the bottom of this. I will post my findings. Thanks for your patience. Rick
  8. Until recently the were 8 NROI instructors in the US and Perry Wilson is the 4th most senior instructor at this point. There are now 9 instructors with a new one just added. He said that he couldn't use the Elite II mag release on his Elite I. If anything I might have quoted the wrong reason why.
  9. The slickest thing that I have seen is a local vendor that will engrave the basepads with your name and a number. The engraving is white and stands out really well. Rick
  10. At a level I, NROI training today I asked about my liability as an RO (USPSA) and was refered to this organization for reasonable insurance. This would be for me personally, but you might want to consider it as an option for your application: http://www.naso.org/ Rick
  11. I'm with you on that one Mark. It is legal now. The implementation date has to due with the new "Stability of Firearm Criteria Rule": Cut and paste again from the rule book: "Stability of Firearm Criteria Rule This rule applies to firearms only; specifically any rule change that would disallow a firearm previously approved for IDPA competition. Firearm criteria changes will only be reviewed every two (2) years. Any firearm criteria changes will go into effect twelve (12) months after approval."
  12. You'll be happy with the Anderson book and the timer. While USPSA is my favorite of the two games by far, there is something to having the ability to shoot either game with the same gun; it just keeps your options open.
  13. Robbie, you can always change your sights to get point of aim to correlate with point of impact. The important thing is which ammo groups the best in your gun.
  14. I was just at a level I RO class this weekend. The instructor shot a Beretta Elite I and like the mag release on the Elite II (it was a little bigger) but said that he could not put the part on his Elite I since that gun was never made with that part. Again, this is for USPSA rules which don't apply in Canada. I posted this to respond to the other posters who thought that if it was a factory part it would be OK - it's not for production class. Rick I modified this post to specifiy that I was speaking to production class shooters.
  15. Wal-mart Winchest White box or Blazer aluminum both in 115 gr. Buy some of each and shoot them for accuracy off of a bench with sandbags. Buy the more accurate round for your gun. I buy these because they are cheap, I don't have to reload and they are very accurate in my G34. I shoot the Blazer round, but WW WB is very popular too. Rick
  16. Jim, WELCOME TO THE BRIAN ENOS FORUM. We talk on Glock talk once in a while (congrats on the new timer). Here is a link: http://glockmeister.com/catalog/product_in...products_id/206 Remember you can't use the brass one in IDPA competition. With the large frame Glocks I'm not sure if this mag well in the aluminum version will fit in the box. Maybe someone else can answer that for you. Welcome again, Rick
  17. Angus, Mathew Mink made a comment recently that the gun might make the weight for SSP in the latest newest version with 3 slots cut in the light rail instead of the previously one slot and two slot models. You might want to weigh one of the newest versions and see if it makes weight. Matt Didn't say it would make weight, he did wonder if it would with the third cut. This is cut and paste from the rule book: "2. Stock Service Pistol Division (SSP) Handguns permitted for use in this division must: A. Be semi-automatic. B. Be double action, double action only, or safe action (when the trigger is pulled, the hammer/striker is cocked and then released). C. Be 9mm (9x19) or larger caliber. D. Have a maximum unloaded weight of 39oz., including an empty magazine. (Will be effective January 25, 2006)" Note that I did not copy the whole SSP section just down to the weight rule. Rick
  18. If anyone has the spread sheet, I would love to have it. Thanks in advance. Thanks for the advice on the classifiers Flex. I use to try "extra hard" on them and found out that wasn't the way to make it happen. These days I am doing better by just trying to shoots A's as fast as I can see them. No where near your skill level, but I am moving the right direction. Rick
  19. Merlin, ONE SERIOUSLY COOL PROJECT. Just wish I had the clams to make that one happen. This year I would like to hire a coach for the first time. Would love to train with Travis and Max. Also have a local fellow who is from the Frank Garcia school that will see some of my money this year. For some reason, shooters many times think that we are MEN. We are born with some special innate ability to shoot properly. As a student of shotgun games (sporting clays) I hired a number of coaches and saw my score go up. Any professional athlete, even at the very highest level of the game, has a coach/trainer that they work with. Many have more than one - I.E. mental game coach, technique coach etc. Keep us posted on your adventure, Rick
  20. Boo, I will have to respectfully disagree with you. I think Saul Kirsch and Lanny Bassham would definately dissagree with you too. This is part of the mental game. This is a big part of the game. You have to expect that this better performance is "how I normally shoot" This is what I do, I shoot A's, I do it fast and accurately, I normally hit my reloads, etc. This is you not only saying these things to yourself, but believing it and programming it to your subconscious. Yes, you must back up the positive self talk with hard training and skills development, but the positive attitude and "knowing" that you can do something starts between your ears. I will encourage you to visit Brian's book store here: http://www.brianenos.com/store/books.html Rick
  21. GuildSF4, thanks for the clarification. SteveM, I think taking advantage of the crossover capability of holster is a great idea. Trigger time in the two games is a nice option to have available. Rick
  22. I'm old and slow aver about .31 never hit below .3 So what can I do to get faster? Probably loosing .1 responding to the beep of the timer too.
  23. Thanks for the nice reviews WLKtheDuk. Appreciate the info. I should own Massad's book since I took a Stressfire I course this fall. I think that Gabe Suarez also has written a few works, haven't read them but I would bet that they are good. Rick
