  1. Based on your video it looks like a double feed. You removed the first round of the double feed, charged it again which caused another double feed. Look at your feed lips and the relationship between the front and back of them. The rear(where the rim rests) needs to be wider than the front(about 1/2" forward from the rear). I recommend at least .01" but each gun is different and actual measurement will vary from gun to gun.
  2. With a rim lock the bolt will stop towards the rear. The top rim has slipped behind the second shell in the mag preventing it from chambering. Quick way to override a rim lock on the clock is to slap the back of the charging handle. Gerrit is correct in double feed and rim lock are two separate issues. Federal Bulk seems to have gone further into the territory of Winchester Universal and SuperX. Neither of which I recommend for any gun. Detailed information about what the rounds look like when having "jams" is the key to getting everything tuned correctly.
  3. I have the same feelings as far as a major goes. Was just curious as to what others thought. Only reason I shot limited was I wanted to try something different. I normally shoot Open so it was a big change.
  4. Simple question for the other MD/RMs and Irons competitors. Would you allow an individual to shoot Irons with a 1x-?x scope assuming it stayed on 1x for the duration of the match? I understand it creates a headache for RO's and also a question of integrity for said individual. But what if you had a product that locked the scope on 1x preventing from being dialed up? The reason I ask is two fold. One: I shot Limited this weekend at our local match using a Vortex Viper 1-4. It was a last minute decision and the other competitors had no issues with it. The scope stayed on 1x for the match and I enjoyed shooting something different. Two: There is a severe lack of BDC red dots that are available on the market. The ability to bolt on a lock may encourage some to try another division.
  5. We are proud to announce the dates for the 3rd Annual Missouri 3-Gun Championship. The 2017 match will be held March 18-19 at the Lead Farm 3-Gun Range outside Versailles, MO. It will feature 10 stages shot over the course of 2 days. We will have approximately 196 shooters, separated into 14 squads. We run a full day schedule. Each squad will get a 1 hour break every 2-3 stages. Match fee is $250. Juniors shoot for $175. This year’s match will take place at our new range located at 9083 Whipperwill Rd, Versailles, MO 65084. The new range is bigger and better than our last featuring wider bays and natural shade at the mouth of the bays. We will have a permanent sight in bay with marked yardages at 25, 50, 75, and 100 as well as steel at 100, 200, and 300 yards. We also have a natural terrain bay that is 45 yards wide with all the trees and vegetation left in it as well as access to more natural terrain for jungle runs on the property. This is a bay style match so range carts are encouraged. We do allow competitors to park close to the bays but once you are parked your truck needs to remain there for the day. We can have rifle out to 600yds. Longest rifle shot will be posted once it has been decided on. Round count will be close to 150 rds for each gun. Actual round count and stages will be posted as the match gets closer. For those of you that have not shot with us in the past this is not an easy match. You will be challenged mentally and physically, all while testing every fundamental of shooting. We will be using Practiscore for registration as well as scoring the match. This will not only speed up the process of posting scores but also diminish the chance for human error during input. Registration for this match will start on October 2nd at 8:00 P.M. (Central Time) for last year’s participants and October 4th at 8:00 P.M. for everyone else. We want to thank those who shot with us last year and reward them for doing so. The match will be limited to the first 196 shooters. Squadding will take place on February 1. We will send a reminder email a few days prior. You will self-squad. If you do not squad yourself you will be placed on a squad with empty slots. After you fill out the Practiscore form online you will get a return Email confirming what you submitted. If all is OK then there is nothing to do but send the funds to the listed address. You will be given 2 weeks to send in your match fee. If no funds are received you will be moved to the wait-list. If you are a sponsored shooter and plan on shooting the match sign up and pay. Once your sponsor commits we will refund you match fee. We have a limited number of sponsor slots and they will fill quickly. If you would like to shoot the match but your schedule does not allow it, we will have a limited number of slots to shoot with the RO’s the weekend of the 11-12. Please contact me for more details. Match Shirts will be $20. They will be a Dri-Fit/Cool-Weave fabric shirt. Match shirts will be available at the event but in limited quantities. Order when you register to ensure you get one. If you have any questions feel free to ask. This is a match run by shooters for shooters. We are always open to suggestions. Thanks!

  7. I have never had to re-do a grip. I am sure it could be done but would be a nasty job removing the old epoxy. Re-application would be no different than the first time it was done.
  8. I run 36 grit on my 2011. I have done grip jobs for 6 other people and all have opted for 36 over 60 grit. Carbide from Amazon.
  9. 3M kit is by far the best on the market. If the paper clogs just stick the pad on your jeans(assuming they are work jeans) and give it a spin. It will clean it right up.
  10. I use Metaloy for all my chrome work. Quick turn around and excellent work.
  11. Have run both the 3moa and 8moa dots on my shotgun. Both of which were Burris FastFireIII's. The 3moa was too small for my liking. In cloudy conditions it was easy to pick up but normal conditions are bright which made it difficult at speed. The 8moa is easy to pick up and track in bright conditions and doesn't hinder a good sight picture for slugs at distance.
  12. I have done 2 edges in the last year and a half like this. You do have to do a tri-top to remove the entire front dovetail but they both turned out excellent. Here is one of them.
  13. Safety has not been fitted properly. Sounds like they fit it for half cock but didn't complete the job. If the safety is on the tight side of fitting, the safety will not snap into place as it should. You will have to physically push it into position.
  14. Had a customer that wanted to go from Hard Chrome to black nitride on an Edge. Sent the gun off for stripping then to Nitride after it returned. No problems at all.
  15. Does it have the JP EZ trigger installed or something else? It's possible the pre-travel adjustment screw has moved the tail of the trigger high enough to prevent removal of the safety drum.
  16. JP Safety drums are set up with an adjustment screw. This allows perfect engagement of the safety and trigger. If you look inside the drum there is a brass set screw that holds the adjustment screw in place. Loosen that then back out the adjustment screw. Hope this helps.
  17. Wanting to start a discussion about a shotgun only match for 2017. Since Nordic has now become a 3-gun match we are looking to fill that void with a shotgun only match. We will still host the Missouri 3-Gun championship in the spring and are looking at the Fall for the shotgun match. Will be a 2 day match with the same format as our Spring 3-gun. As always this will be a match run by shooters for shooters so we are looking to you for your opinions. Topics of discussion: Scoring(Points or Total Time) Date(October/November) Divisions and rules(Will be outlaw) Anything else you guys can think of.
  18. Not worth your time. See-All sent us a few to test when they were first released. Regular irons are much faster.
  19. I have fit 5 SV ribbed barrels since January. All have been "short" but have all had enough material to fit very tightly. All have been about .0005"-.0015" long on all the STI slides I have fit them to. Other slides man not be the case.
  20. Still working on getting everything fine tuned. Been making a lot of changes throughout the gun in the last week. Hoping to have one of our mid-barrel comps on it and reliable high capacity mags by the end of the week.
  21. Why not just get them resealed? That is my plan. Gonna get another set at the same time just to have because I like them so much.
  22. We calibrate with 120pf ammo at our matches. Have a few guys that shoot around the 108pf range and don't have much problem knocking down steel. Only exception is the 10" steel plates we have. Center hit with 108pf wont take them off. Personally I shoot 130-135pf.
  23. Not difficult to do. Did one for a customer a few months ago.
  24. As long as the star is reset the same way for every shooters, that's good enough. Mark 1 arm and that one always points up or down or wherever you want. Then let the shooters shoot the plates in whatever order they desire. Its the same target presentation when they get there. Anything else is on them. We designed our star exactly that way. There is only one way to reset the star. Same plate hangs in the exact same spot for every shooter. No need to mark it if you cant set it incorrectly.
