Alma, that is not fair at all. I was going to pull the plug, then you had to show that pic. Not fair at all !!! I got a feeling when my dealer calls me, I won't be able to pass.

It come from a dealer that is moving 2 million dollars. I waited and waited for the Target. Never arrived. I would love to get one, but I don't have to have one. Saves me $800 if I pass.

June eta, I pulled the plug on my wait.
  6. 1 - The 45 is generally a more accurate round, not saying that a 40 is not accurate, but most of the time, a well fit 45 will shoot rings around a 40. 2 - The 45 cuts a larger hole in the target and we all know that benefit. 3 - The 45 can be a very soft shooting pistol and yes the heavier bullet is slower, but who is waiting on the bullet to get to the target. I don't think that there is a advantage in the faster round, if you can take advantage of the faster bullet, then I think you should have already won the World title. 4 - It takes a lot for the old 45 to not be reliable. 5 - For me, the timing is better on the 45, as in the recoil impulse. I am not fast enough to tell that the 40 would be better. Just my thoughts only. Good luck with your choice.
  7. Just read the write up. Great job !
  8. I have tried so many over the years. At this time, my 3 gun rifle has a Hyperfire with the shoe. I have fairly large hands so the little extra reach and the shoe feels good. I have had JP, Geisselle, American Gold, Rock River, and White Oak Armament (tuned Rock River). All have been quality triggers, but the Hyperfire is working for me at this time.
  9. Caspian, plus they have supported the shooting sports for a long time.

    Gen 4 to Gen 3 ?

What is needed to put a Gen 4 upper on a Gen 3 lower , or is it not possible ?

True, I just hope that it is not going to be like before, waiting for the Target. They are coming and they will sell as fast as they get on the shelves. Still looking forward to it. It won't make a difference in myself winning a National Championship, but it is fun to think so.

My dealer just got back from a big ordering/buying trip and he said Sig had a possible June ETA. Did not ask how many he ordered.

Great advise Sarge. There is no need for a open gun to lock back. There will be plenty of places to reload if needed in the coarse of fire.
  15. This great forum in not the place and I have no reason to save face. Sorry that you consider this babble.
  16. Bull, really !! There are more frames coming from across the big pond (Philippines) than you obviously realize and have others names on them. JimmyBob, your sarcasm sucks. The frames are purchased and sometimes finished here in the US and sometimes the Philippines cuts the rails there, depends on the contract. Ask STI. Not saying that there is anything wrong with that, it is big business. There are some very good frames, both single stack as well as double stacks coming from there. I also would use and have used products from there.
  17. Remington is not making the frames, just adding their names, same for the single stacks. Just adding their names. They will be a good alternative. I had 4 Para's but they were built guns and shot very well. I agree the factory guns needed work, but would not pass up a good deal on one.
  18. Thanks kneelingatlas, it is a new pistol and it is a extremely accurate pistol. The color may scare some folks , but that could be changed very easy. I decided when I had the pistol built, that I did not want the holes in the barrel, but had the slide cut for the holes if they were to be added down the road. It is very flat shooting and I think the 5" is the better choice. 3djedi , you will not be disappointed in a long gun. A lot of people like the smaller C-More, but the larger C-More has the better track record for reliability. Again, look at what the top shooters are using.
  19. Just posted a like new 9 major at a price that is less than most. I do have to agree on the short 9 major, or any shorter open gun. The advantage is just not worth it. There is a reason all of your top shooters are shooting long pistols. It is like using a short stick or a long stick to lift something. Get more done with the long stick.
  20. Just completed a Rem 700 build in 6.5 Creedmoor. Brownells had advertised a M24 barrel made for Brownells by Satern barrels and it came pre-threaded for the 700 action, short chambered, and threaded 5/8x24 at the muzzle. Price was good on the barrel and I already had a Satern on my 3 Gun AR, and it shoots great. So I thought that I would take the chance. The barrel was installed on a blueprinted action, bedded in a Bell and Carlson competition stock. Had a Jewell trigger in it. Running a Gemtech on the end. First range session, got the Leupold 6.5 x 20 on target with a few clicks, and with the barrel not even broke in, my first group at 100 with Factory Hornady 120 gr. A-Max Match ammo left me with a .157, 3 shot group. My shooting partner wanted 3 shots and he shot a .208. Now the rifle did not care for the Hornady 129 SST Superformance. This load shot great in my Ruger American, so I thought that I would try a few rounds since I had it. The barrels sold out very fast, but I can't say enough about the quality of this Satern barrel. If you are considering a build anytime soon, try and get one. The M24 contour is heavy, but it is worth it. Tommy
  21. Mine is not purple, nor sharp edged. The anodizing is black on all of mine. The gas blocks they sell fit perfectly and they are not to expensive. All of the locks face the right way. You must have got a bad one. If you got it from Chandler Hardwoods, they would have exchanged it with out a problem. Are they super heavy duty handguards, no. But you are not paying for that.
  22. Same here, my 5 handguards are not going into the trash. They have done what was asked and held up well. If I want a small diameter, I will get more from Chandler. Matter of fact, I should be getting a 13" in the mail today for my PCC. Just trying to help.
