Correct moon clips for 9mm WIN brass and FC brass
jriggs replied to jriggs's topic in Revolver Forum
Got it....WCC stamp brass....sorted a few K and then started test fitting. About 40% was good to go. It's the moon on the left. To the right are .35 nickel and blue. Nice and snug...no wiggle...should be good now! Thanks for the help everyone -
If needed....would someone have one I could borrow for a few days to get him a sample to measure up?

I know a guy who's retired and has a wicked machine shop that he still "tinkers" in I'm more than happy to ask about this as a project....I know he's probably work something out. I'll get back to you in a few days...

No need for the spring loaded decapping for the rifle. Take a file and sharpen the end of the decaying pin...sort of like a chisel cut. Maybe 5 or 6 strokes across 4 sides....it won't mushroom out and you'll never pull a spent primer back into the pocket again.

Correct moon clips for 9mm WIN brass and FC brass

so is too tight just as bad as too loose? I've got a bunch of WCC stamp brass and it fits really tight in the .40 from revolver supply . should the brass spin in the moon or is it ok if it's snug? -
Since the day I plumbed it into my natural gas line I've always loved my grill!!! Not having to fill propane tanks is such a sweeeet thing. Went to turn on my grill this evening to cook up some salmon....grill was already hot. I thanked my wife....she looked at me and said "you're welcome but I didn't turn it on" It was then that I realized I had left it on since yesterday around 6:00pm :/ So yeah....I HATE running my grill for 24 hours straight!!!

Here's my stuff....I can spend hours in there and never want to leave! The loaders are all Mounted on t-track so I can move them all to the rear of the bench and still have room to work On other projects.

Picking up 929 tomorrow, Problems--how to look/measure for any?
jriggs replied to minnesota1's topic in Revolver Forum
Trigger weight - they run heavy Cylinder gap - they tend to be too log and uneven Cylinder last themselves tend to all be different sizes. Soooo... Most guys will have the trigger worked and the hammer bobbed anyway. To fix an uneven cylinder gap you'll need to have a smith take the barrel off and work that. youll have to check with your local smith on his price for this. If the cylinders are not all the same size...it would help to have them honed to ensure clean extraction. This should run somewhere in the $7-10 per cylinder range. So maybe $55-70 to fix that. You might also want to consider taking the comp off the pistol and cut/recrown the barrel. I've read lots of guys stories about having issues with them. -
Thank you for the heads up. Just snagged a race master magnetic holster and few extras for my 929.

Is there a code for the double alpha discount??? Or is it just a Black Friday discount across their site?

Gregg that's exactly one of the problems I had...it was a mess. Like I said...I do believe that the only tool they have in the custom shop is a laser engraver.

Gotcha....thanks. I thought that might have been part of it. I'm going to be running the moon clip server so the magnets aren't a big deal.... I'm happy that'll work cause they're half the price of the SS units -

Thanks for all the help guys!! Also...Is there any advantage to the blues clips over the S/S clips? -
I'm beginning to think the only tool they have in the "custom shop" is a laser engraver.....

So I separated out 1000 each of WIN and FC brass from my buckets.... So I'm getting all my stuff together for when my 929 gets back from the smith. What TK moon clips will work best with these. A few guys mentioned that the .40 moons would be best...sound right? Thanks, Riggs

Yeah that's sweet. Happy it came back so awesome!!! Just got mine yesterday...took it to my smith and it NEEDS about $400 worth of work to get it right. Cylinder gap was a mess...uneven and too long Trigger was at 14lbs :/ Cylinders were all a mess....will have to hone them to get them all the same The rest is just standard stuff...chamfering on the cylinders...modifying the front sight to a fiber optic and milling out the barrel underbody to get rid of some weight.

Wa this direct from S&W? Or did u get it back from a gunsmith?
-
I noticed that you can order a 2" belt slide for the RM...has anyone used this on a safari land ELS belt and how was the fit? Thanks in advance, Riggs
-
Do these come with the poly shims? There is a note on the website saying they're not available right now.....
-
Well I'm between this rack and the speed e rack. Both seem to have their advantages. I just really like the idea of always reaching to the same spot.
-
Will do. any other advice for using them?
-
Gonna use this for a 929 so thanks for heads up about that. Is it 6 or 7 moon clips that fit onto the server? It definitely makes sense to pull a clip from the same place each time....which is why this caught my interest. I do appreciate the help guys....
