  1. Tumbler might work...this was done with a commercial polishing wheel with a few different buffing pads and compound.
  2. MGM is awesome...I wish I had $20K to drop on a boat load of thier targets...I would set up an shooters play land with every imaginable steel target, invite all my friends and just start banging away! great to hear they're supporting the Colt 3 Man!
  3. ok looks like everything i'll want to do I can get it done with a Gen4. I've found and checked off all the parts i'll need. thanks for the help guys, the glock stuff can be a little confusing when you're not used to it. now I just need to wait till the parts I need are in stock
  4. yeah they really are sweet! the TTI stuff is pretty much "perfection attained" in my book...so it's all I'm going to be running on all my stuff.
  5. this is why I'm leaning towards just snagging a Gen 3? it's confusing as hell
  6. hey RexKramer...do you now the part # for that magwell???
  7. I can post a few, but in all honesty, it's a Glock. Seen one, ya seen them all... Gen4 G34. I use it for mostly IDPA ESP. It has Dawson Ice magwell and I have +200 extentions on the mags. It will fit in an IDPA box, but it's tight. That's the medium backstrap with beavertail. It also has Warren Tactical Sevigny sights and the Jager steel guiderod that allows you to use one piece springs rather than the Gen4 dual spring system. Tried to get that in the second and third pics. The discoloration is due to the pic, not the gun itself. I also put in the JK trigger which also works very well. It's around 3lbs, smooth, and has been reliable with WWB, Freedom Munition reloads, and Atlanta Arms and Ammo reloads. I also put on an OEM extended mag release as the Gen4 mag release was still too low profile for my liking. The new one works well. Single spring guide rod Hope this helps... let me know if there are any specifics you'd like to see. That's great info...does the ICE magwell work with TTI base pads? And is that magwell designed to work with that backstrap or does it take some tinkering?
  8. Do those TTI extensions work we'll with the ZEV mag we'll or are there any modifications needed for proper fit??
  9. Can you guys with Gen 4 pistols post up some pics???
  10. No I have not had time yet...maybe this week coming up.
  11. I set mine up with ELS clips... Works great and no issues at all. I'll take some pics over the weekend and post em up for ya to see how I did it.
  12. Ares gear ranger belt...one and done!!! Best belt out there for sure!
  13. It's not just for the STI guys ya know
  14. Regardless of what they're shooting the answer is most likely yes
  15. well I'm thinking I'm gonna wait and look for a Gen 3...still not positive the 4 makes sense. but below are the things I need to do. install a ZEV trigger add a larger heavy magwell (preferably brass) remove the finger groves and stipple the sh*t out of it throw on some different sights change out the guide rod to a tungsten rod with a softer spring to run some softer loads in the 120 PF range for 3 gun and that's about it...nothing more than that. if I could make those things happen I'd be happy with the Gen 4. and I don't need the backstraps...held one today and it felt fine with the plain ol grip as is.
  16. Did someone say "captain Morgan?" If he's running 2 flintlocks and a sword...what class would he be in????
  17. I saw those spacers that ZEV makes to adapt the Gen 3 guide rods...so with one of those in the pistol all the options for guide rods are opened back up and available then...correct?
  18. don't care about the extra mag.... can't tell if my hands fit better on the gen 4 or not...the gen 4 felt like a glock to me..didn't notice any big difference. don't plan on reducing the grip at all...but I will stipple the hell out of it and I need a big ol heavy brass magwell for sure. I've never been bitten by a glock in the past...and I had and shot a 17,19 and then a compact .40....so no...I don't think i'll be needing the beavertail at all. not sure about the guide rod??? is there an advantage or disadvantage to either design? as long as the gun runs...I don't care because i'll have spare parts in my bag. I've become a big fan of tungsten guide rods and lighter springs...so does that cause a problem if I have a Gen 4? and price is negotiable...my guy has a Gen 3 for $546 and a Gen 4 for $566 lastly...I am lefty...but drop mags with my pointer finger...so no worries on the ambi mag release
  19. this will be specifically for 3 gun...so anything goes for the most part when it comes to that sort of stuff. only things I can't and wouldn't do anyway because I shoot tac ops is no red dot, no comps and no porting of barrels. otherwise I can do whatever I feel like
  20. interesting...i'll keep that in mind. yeah I'm really interested when it comes to modifying them? for example..popular modifications you can do to a Gen 3 that you cannot do to a Gen 4? for example...I know there are a lot of brass plugs people like to run...but certain ones won't allow you to run them in conjunction with the Gen 4 backstraps.
  21. you hear that Andrew....go head and stuff that shotgun full like it was a thanksgiving day turkey!!! Yeeeeehaw!!!! BEERS FOR DEAN!!!!!!!
  22. so if I was going to build up a Glock 34 for 3 gun....would I be better off with a Gen 3 or 4??? I did a lot of research a while back but that was a few years ago. has the availability for parts and stuff gotten better since then or is it still slim pickins??? I searched some manufacturers sites and saw there are now mag wells, triggers, sights and all that jazz...so it's looking a lot better than it was back in 2012.... concensus??? is there still any good reasons to pick up a Gen 3 instead of the Gen 4?? thanks, riggs
  23. Yeah me too...I really don't care either way... I just love shooting my shotgun and as long as there are lots of targets to knock over or turn into dust I'm fine with having a few extra reloads along the way. Lord knows I need the practice
  24. Whoa whoa whoa batman... I did understand that incorrectly!!! You're telling me 8 round capacity is the limit THROUGHOUT the match??? Not just for the start of each stage?? So I need to pull the +2 off my versamax and run an 8 round tube????
