  1. does anyone know what time everything gets started on Saturday? for example...is there a safety brief and what time and then when is shooting planned to start? I know there are a lot of teams so I'm guessing they'll start early if possible. thanks, riggs
  2. So the pistol came in and I got to work right away... It's now running a ZEV Fulcrum trigger, TTI sights, ZEV uncaptured guide rod and blue spring, a Dawson ICE magwell (medium backstrap) and them some TTI base pads to finish it off.
  3. Here are those pics of my CR Speed pouches on my ELS belt. I use a small bolt that comes with the ELS clip, the lock washer from the CR Speed pouch and a backing nut that came with some stuff from carbon arms for mounting SSL clips.
  4. this is how they should look...most people hear "2 piece" and think it's more or a hinge in the middle...but it's not really noticeable unless you know what you're looking for. I've known so many guys that shot A5's and didn't even know that the shotgun had the speedfeed capability
  5. seems like nobody has then in stock....all sold out...even Taran's website doesn't have the larger base pads in Red for the glock???? what's up with that??? anyone know of a shop that has them in stock so I can order a handful of em???? thanks, riggs
  6. I'm left eye dom also....I know it can be done but I think I'll just work on shooting position
  7. What I'm stating is: Inconsistent results = yes could be a lot of other things that the shooter. But if someone is getting really good groups "some of the time" then it's most likely pilot error. Yes there might be a problem with harmonics or something like that but that doesn't create flyers like described above. I've watched BR shooters shim barrels with paper to balance harmonics and stop flyers but were talking fractions of an inch at 100 yards Sometimes it's not easy to admit but not all of us are great at pulling triggers. I know I can shoot decently at distance... But I've watched guys squeeze so much more accuracy out of my rifle than I ever thought possible (shooting my rifle, my ammo off the same rest) and the only difference during that lesson was the shooter.
  8. So you are saying you have to lap the rings on the Skel mount? I personally would... yes. I have all sorts of scopes in all sorts of mounts and rings, lots of combinations basically. I learned my lesson about 7 years ago with a Zeiss Victory 2.5-10 mounted in a set of Talley 3 piece rings, it was also the first set I decided not to have lapped. This would be the 3rd set of those type of Talley rings that I had installed at that point. Put it all together AS PER SPEC and it would just not hold zero. Within 5-7 shots zero would start to shift and I was pissed. This was on a custom .300 Wby and my favorite hunting rifle so it was driving me crazy. Long story short...after speaking with one of the guys at Talley he informed me the scope was most likely slipping in the mounts. I told him no way....and after checking again told him everything was torqued up correctly and there was no way it was slipping. He came back and told me that even when torqued correctly the nice shiny finish on that Zeiss Victory scope next to the smooth finish on the Talley rings can lead to the tube slipping in the rings under recoil. He said "lap those rings" and it should go away immediately." I took his advice...and that was the last time I mounted that scope....7 years ago. It was also the first/last time I didn't go the extra distance and lap rings. I also now take a fine mechanical pencil and run it along the edge of both sides of the rings where they meet the tube body. It makes a nice line and is an easy check to see if the scope body has moved forward/back at all the the rings for any reason.
  9. you think that is that part of the thinking behind the new 3 gun nation barricades that are more of a pyramid shape? more of an AMBI barricade?
  10. so you know those lovely barricades that have a marked zone that you cannot step out of while shooting without getting a 5 second penalty per shot...yeah those little f*ckers! they enough of a pain in the ass all by themselves...but now try being left handed and only having 10% of the shooting position options that that righty guys have. hate em...I'm about to start shooting the little fochers prone out of the bottom port!
  11. if your saying that your rile is capable of shooting really good groups "sometimes" your problem is you...not the rifle. sorry barrels are either accurate or inaccurate based on your skill to load/send rounds....there is no such thing as "somestimes accurate"
  12. ^^^^ that's what I was hoping you'd say. the lack of carbon building is an awesome addition though...that would mean a lot to me since the comp has to be pinned. i'll be ordering one at some point. thanks Mark!
  13. yes...I've have a huge pile of Prvi xm193 that I've been burning up in 3 gun matches this summer and my rifle shoots smooth as butter. I'm sure it would be softer with a less juicy round but it's already so damn easy to shoot I can't imagine it getting any better. i'll move over to something softer when my prvi runs out but to answer your question...yes it can be smooth if you're running it in a gun with LMOS and adj gas
  14. Mark, I'm pretty sure there isn't cause I can't see it in the pic...but can you confirm that there is no high pressure expansion chamber in this comp??? I run a JP right now because I also shoot the rifle over the river in NJ and to keep it compliant I have to have the comp pinned and because if that the expansion chambers are no good..because of the carbon buildup that I would not be able to clean out on a regular basis. but your design looks nice and open which would make cleaning the muzzle really easy with the comp installed.
  15. this is an interesting thread....because in my travels I've found there are two types of shooters out there. those who know how to set up & maintain their mounts/rings.....and those who do not if rings are allowing the scope to move...then it's as simple as something loosened up :/ and if something loosened up...there was pilot error somewhere along the way most likely. there is a spec for installation and torque...and 95% of the shooters out there that I know don't even own a torque driver set...which says a lot. and I wouldn't worry at all about the Warne stuff...their shit is bombproof...I've used Warn stuff a lot in the past and it's always performed at 100% I even have a set of their rings on my Winchester .470 Capstick...ZERO issues there...and if there was ever a rifle that would give you a headache with rings due to recoil..that would be the one! I am that dork that still laps ALL my rings....regardless of what the manufacturer states about precision machining...because when I take my scope and lay it in their rings and attach it to my rifle and tighten it all down...I would bet a month's salary that the surface between that scope body and those rings is not perfectly flush.
  16. nothing to serious...they're both 5" pro in 9mm SSS limited brass magwell, which is the biggest one they make SSS 5" pro tungsten guide rod with ISMI 15# spring Apex Poly FSS and RAM some polished M&P mags and TTI base pads and the stippling I did myself. just finally worked up a load and I'm running 147 bayous with 3.2 gr of titegroup with Win spp at 1.15 AOL and it shoots smooth as warm butter! cant' wait for the Colt 3 man to get it out and really play with it.
  17. Do not worry....this is going to backfire horribly on S&W and before you know it they'll be selling parts again. Some dipshit who doesn't know his a_-hole from his elbow thought this up.
  18. There and gone....don't way to offend anyone
  19. Yeah maybe that was a little mean.....but I could have posted this instead....
  20. Get your minds out of the gutter!!! I wasn't really too worried about my M&P letting me down... But now it's the farthest thing from my mind.
  21. they're gonna lose a lot of business with a move like that....these pistols are easy to work on for minor breakage...and most of us that use them competitively don't have the time or the budget to be sending pistols back to S&W for a easy quick fix.
