  1. I like the Dot Drill to help with trigger control. From the draw, 6 shots on a 2" circle at 21 feet. Par time of 5 sec. Must do it 6 times in a row to be successful. I've never been completely successful :-) It does make me use a "soft" trigger finger though.
  2. I switched to bullets out while running an M&P in Production. It only took me a week to get used to it and fixed the issue of one mag catching the lip of the mag behind it and throwing a full mag on the ground. I've since jumped on the CZ bandwagon, but stayed with bullets out. Just seems natural for me now.
  3. I've had good luck ordering from Brownel's in the past. Got a few and practiced stippling, 2nd try turned out good, 3rd try turned out great.
  4. Starting to see more and more Shadows in SW Ohio.
  5. Corey Estill is a GM that shoots pretty straight with a CZ.
  6. Maybe you could have a drawing were all non senior shooters that park on top of the hill get a mandatory free entry. The winner gets the honor of having their car featured as a stage prop :-) No bike races this weekend, see you Sunday morning!
  7. I placed my order Mar. 12th, got a tracking number today.
  8. Can we vote for our favorite stage? While I had fun on all of them....we mostly :-) Sarge's. The Great Escape was my favorite. I shot it in 31.70 with 134 pts. That was just after I watched Alex G. shoot it in 23.10 with 140 pts. My plan was slightly different than his, but more in my comfort zone. He took all four shots on the mover early, I only took the leading target on the move, then took the trailing target through the port when I was at the final array. Very fun stage!!!
  9. Very nice CZ! You should double check before shooting in USPSA Prod., I'm not seeing it on the approved list. Hate to see you show up to a major match and get booted. How would they even know the weight? Again, nice gun.
  10. I fondled one at the NRA show last Saturday. Didn't get to ask about it though. Sorry, this doesn't help you much.
  11. Very nice! I've had problems with them dropping in low temps
  12. I don't have any Dillon seating dies, but aren't they reversible, one end for round nose, the other end for wadcutter? Do you have it oriented incorrectly? That's my first thought too. Make sure the die is flipped to the correct end. I've loaded those same bullets with no issues.
  13. I did the borrow a chrono thing exactly twice. Actually, just showed up when someone else announced they'd be at the range chronoing and took advantage of their invite to join. After just these 2 sessions, I realized that I needed my own. They're not to expensive at all. I paid about $145 for a Pro Chrono with the IR shades for indoor use. Not that $145 is chump change, but if you're in this game, you can find a way to scrape and save for it.
  14. This is the case with mine too. Just laying on a table with both belts and the gun holstered, it measures "good". But while I'm wearing it, the belt has just enough flex that the weight of the gun will pull the measurement to just over 2". What would the RO do? Allow you to remove everything (while keeping the gun holstered) so he can re-measure?
  15. Thanks everyone. I have plenty of ideas to play with. Oh darn, I'll have to shoot more :-)
  16. Sandbagger, thanks for the reply. The max load is listed at 4.3, so I do have room to go higher. I may load some up at 4.1 and see how that responds.
  17. ***Newbie reloader alert*** I've been working with MG 147 rn bullets and WSF powder. I think I'm on the right track, but wonder what the proper next steps should be to finalize this development. Here's some info: - M&P Pro 5" with factory barrel - FC brass, Win SP primers - OAL 1.128 to 1.130 - Started at 3.5gn which barely made PF at 126. I put 500 rounds through the gun before I got a chrono. 10 shots over the chrono. - Increased to 3.7gn for 10 shots over the Chrono and didn't really see any change.....weird. - Jumped up to 3.9gn and shot 15 over the Chrono. This was better with an avg. speed of 888 for 131 PF. There was one slow shot out of 15 at 849. Throw out the low and the avg jumps to 892. The hi was 919 and 3 shots were 900. The group was 2"+ at 45 feet off a rest. Should also say this was shot indoors, but our range is COLD, probably 25-30 degrees in there. If you're still with me, thanks! What would be my next step? Call it good and shoot away? Throw another 100 rounds across the Chrono and see what I can learn? Wait until it warms up and re-test? Also thinking of extending the OAL to see if the group tightens. 1.130 is feeding fine, but maybe a longer OAL will feed fine too. Any thoughts? Thanks
  18. I will also say to shoot it. I did Ohio last year as a newbie and had a lot of fun finishing mid pack. Other than Monday night practice matches, it was my 2nd official match. I just did an all classifier match that made me a "C", then jumped in.
  19. open67, please post back and let us know how the KKM does.
  20. Welcome! And yes, if you make it out to Miamisburg during the winter months, dress WARM! Monica and Chris will steer you right.
  21. Thanks Kevin! I'll add this to the list of "Things I need" for this sport.
  22. Is this thing repeatable? In other words, It you have it set for a certain load with a certain powder, can you change it and then come back to the original setting and get the same powder weight?
  23. I agree with the others and say it makes a big difference. The rear site on my gun wasn't to hard to remove. I made a little punch out of some hard wood scraps because I was afraid of scratching the slide. It worked fine, but I've since picked up a site pusher.
  24. Before I started USPSA, one year ago, I'd never seen a squib. Now I've seen 3. On all 3 the shooter stopped just as the RO and half the squad yelled STOP. Happy to say that I joined in on the yelling for the last one.
