  1. I did the mod that AzDanMan mentioned and it works well, better than the charge bar did for me. That's a scratch not a crack next to the screw, but do be careful when you drill. I just have a hand drill. You can also get a 3D printed, after market micro charge from Titan Reloading for around $30. https://www.titanreloading.com/titan-reloading-products/titan-micro-charge Time is one thing, but once you start spending money on the Auto Disk, you might want to consider an Auto Drum. I have both now and use the Auto Drum most often. Dave
  2. I'm wondering if the mount for the Auto Prime that attaches to the press has any wiggle room. I don't own the ABLP but on the Classic Turret you can adjust the placement of the mount that screws onto the press a little. With the newer Auto Prime you want the rails on the bottom to slide easily over the primer arm. Dave
  3. Can't speak to the 1911 until you have one on hand, but the Blue Bullets have worked fine in my stock 3rd Gen G19 and G17. I went from XTreme 9mm 115g to Blue 115g with no issues. Seating profile was the same so no die adjustments were needed. Shot about 1K Blue and then went back to plated. Didn't care for the smell of the Blue, although most people don't notice it. Dave
  4. I 've never had a problem with Blue Bullets either. For 9mm the bell on my cases is 0.01-0.012. over the measurement of a sized case. Crimped they measure .378. Ben53, you probably already have this but I'll post it just in case. Lee came out with a 3rd generation Safety Prime that is gray. They did it mostly because of the ABLP having problems with the older Safety Prime. Picture of the newest one on the left. Dave
  5. Thanks for the tutorial, vince. I don't own a LNL but always thought if I ever got tired of my LCT I'd get one. After all these years I'm not sure my brain could keep track of more than one case at a time. Dave
  6. You can easily adjust the FCD to just remove the bell created for seating the bullet. Dave
  7. I second that on their customer service. Don't own a Dillon, but had a broken Lee part on a Saturday. I called them up and had the part in my mailbox on Monday. Dave
  8. As long as you have no liquid lingering on the case you should be OK. I would think using a dehydrator would take care of that. Most of us deprime first because the cases dry out more quickly, although you do get the added benefit of clean primer pockets too. Not as important for pistol cases as it might be for precision rifle loading. Dave
  9. What brand of press are you using? Dave
  10. Depends on what you're looking for. For capacity, the gear driven ones like the FART work very well. But, if noise is a problem you might want a belt driven one which will normally give you about half the capacity of the FART. My FART can be loaded up to 30 lbs. That's pins, cases and water. I usually load up to 25 lbs and get close to 1000 9 mm cases, but its loud and I have a detached reloading shed. Most of the belt driven ones I've seen used keep you at about 15 lbs, but you could run them in your house without driving everyone crazy. Dave
  11. Thanks, look forward to seeing how well it does. Dave
  12. Judging by my internet search for "blasting grit" I'd say you'd have to see if it would get into the case and primer pockets well enough to clean but not get stuck in the case. If it looks like it will work, give it a try. I'm sure people here would appreciate seeing what your results are. Most people that use ss pins are always looking for a better way. Getting the pins separated from the brass is a common complaint. Many have started just wet tumbling without the pins. Personally I just use a Harbor Freight magnet. Dave
  13. Frankford Arsenal Rotary Tumbler. Dave
  14. Didn't see the $20 shipping but they I know they are discounting plated bullets 10% at this point. Still my favorite bullets. If I didn't already have over a year's supply I'd order. I don't think my shed floor can handle any more weight. Dave
  15. I never had a problem getting my X-Treme order in a timely manner. Last order for 4K was placed 7/24 and rec'd 8/2. That was with free shipping. I like the product. The problem now is that even with a discount, $30 shipping is too much. Dave
  16. Got this a short time ago. https://us13.campaign-archive.com/?e=796367187a&u=4e07b127155a70baccdf19cb3&id=43ab3fa9c6 Dave
  17. Do you recall if they are still charging $30 shipping? That's what had me looking for another supplier on my last order. Dave
  18. I use a Lee Universal Decapping die on a dedicated turret on my Classic Turret press before wet tumbling. Dave
  19. I ordered 4K of plated 115g 9mm at the end of July and got them August 2, so no issues as far as price or shipping. I also got free shipping with that order. Haven't ordered since because free shipping has gone away, unless you're a first time buyer. I don't mind paying shipping, but X-Treme's is $30 and I can get much more reasonable shipping from Powder Valley or Graf with Berry's. I've also gotten free shipping with Rocky Mountain Reloading. Dave
  20. That is a really clever solution! Dave
  21. Thanks for pointing that out. Guess it's not that much of a special after all. I get emails from the different shooting sites but don't look at Amazon very often. Guess I should start. Dave
  22. Just got an email from Midsouth. For anyone interested they have the FA kit on sale for 159.99. https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/00122909544/frankford-arsenal-platinum-series-rotary-tumbler-(stainless-steel-media-tumbler)?trk_msg=9NH9AJ105AOKNF00D414S7SBS4&trk_contact=F1BJ9NV17FM95502PRCDJ803LK&trk_sid=3N69JTN52UHJOG2ULF4QVOLS3G&utm_source=listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=turn+on+images+and+shop+frankford+arsenal+tumbler&utm_campaign=Get+This+Case+Tumbler+Today! That's about the best I've seen since I got mine for 120.00 last year at Cabela's. Don't know if they'll bring that sale back for Christmas or not. Dave
  23. In the warmer months I put the cases on a towel and dry them outside. Takes a couple of hours in the sun, longer on a cloudy day. In the winter months I spread the cases on a towel on my work bench and have an old window fan that I turn on them for a couple of hours. Then I usually let them sit on the towel for a couple of more hours. I stay ahead of my reloading and cleaning so I always have plenty of clean dry brass. No need to put it in the oven or dryer to hurry things up. Dave
