  1. Saw a guy break his entire lower lug clean off at the Mid-Atlantic Section match last year.
  2. For the safety off and holstering bit, if you notice it before they holster, 100% you should issue the stop command and correct them/prevent them from doing something bad. I've done this multiple times, mostly with Production shooters about to holster a cocked gun. Sometimes they hear me and stop in time, sometimes they don't. As for warnings, I'm of the opinion to keep quiet during the COF. That being said, how about telling a guy he was at the 179 degree line and to be careful out there after his run. I did this this weekend at a Level 2 match. The guy was stunned that he was that close, and then went on to DQ on the next stage for the same thing. On the other hand I heard of a shooter that received the same warning, and was not happy with the RO.
  3. The national championship match every year is there to identify the real differences.
  4. Him, not them. The BOD wasn't involved
  5. Never. That's an old version of Practiscore you have that shows your percentages right away. The current versions don't do that.
  6. You mean like all the PCC GMs? It's dumb and it waters down what the G card means, but I don't think it needed to get noticeably harder. It doesn't affect me either way, it's just interesting the way they did it, which btw, did not involve the BOD at all.
  7. Where are you getting that info?
  8. I just want to know what problem they were trying to solve. Based on some old data I have less than 1.5% of shooters are GMs, do we want it to be harder? The thing I think HQ fails to realize is that for a LOT of people, the classifier system is the only reason to be a member at all. If they changed it so the average dude really struggles to get out of B/C class, what motivation does he have to continue?
  9. Feed lips on the mags are spreading and the follower is coming up too high now. My mags do this after about 3 years of hard use
  10. First decide what division you want to shoot. If Limited (because you like your magwell ) then you want to shoot major. If you want to shoot Production you can go 9 or 40 minor, pick based on what gun you like best. I made GM shooting 40 minor.
  11. Probably because they included a new score from a match you shot in the last week or two, right? Mine didn't change because I didn't shoot a match last week, even though if I use the calculator on my existing scores they would have dropped.
  12. Your existing scores are not going to change. Use the classifier calculator with one of your posted scores and see if the percentages match.
  13. Don't do that. DQ the guy and ask him to unload, but don't touch their gun. If the guy shoots his own foot off, fine, but if I rock his gun in the holster and cause it, that's a much bigger problem.
  14. Engaging means shooting at a target at least once. If the WSB says to put the thingy in the thingy before you engage the last target, there can only be one penalty.
  15. I saw it twice with one guy on the same day (long story, I wasn't the RO) and a few times before that. Each time it was a Sig 226 guy that decide he wanted to shoot Limited to avoid the DA first shot.
  16. Vince Pinto has nothing to do with IPSC anymore and you should feel shame that you posted a rumor from his own private website that he continues to run in order to pretend to be relevant.
  17. 1 PE for the shooter 1 PE for the stage designer 1 smack in the head for everyone else at the match who didn't do it the same way as the shooter you described. It's certainly worth eating the penalty to avoid having to shoot half a stage with one hand.
  18. Be nice if they could fix it so it scores correctly
  19. No reason not to get a g34 or whatever else you want right away. If the Glock is what you want I certainly wouldn't start with a G19, no need for that
  20. If the MD wants to run things this way, and the market will support it, go for it. I think you'll find neither of those things happening.
  21. Please don't come to a match as a brand new shooter with no experience at all. I'm not trying to discourage you, but please get some training and do some practice beforehand. I'd recommend asking the MDs of the local clubs who the local GMs are, and seeking them out. Where are you located?
