  1. I vote for the Tikka TAC A1
  2. The 6.5 will recoil a little more but it's not bad at all. I think the .243 recoil is in between the two - maybe a little closer to the 6mm. For hunting deer I would go with the 6.5mm. I shoot the 6.5mm ( .260 Rem ) without a muzzle brake and it's very comfortable. I also shoot the 6mm Creedmoor without a brake and it's comfortable too. My .308 has a muzzle brake and the recoil on it starts to bother me.
  3. I tend to place some of the flesh of my cheek on the rest instead of locking my cheekbone onto the rest.

Is the HS Precision stock an aftermarket one for the rifle?
  5. I've never had the opertunity to handle one but the barrel and action sound good. I don't like that magpul stock though. Take a look at the Tikka T3x TAC A1. A friend has one and it's a sweet shooter.
  6. Yes, they send out a postcard about 1 month before your certification expires. Raylon -- if you're like me give yourself a week to get the test done.
  7. Thanks Chuck. It's nice to know that some people stay on top of this stuff.
  8. Thanks for confirming. I don't get USPSADown Range so missed that memo. So it sounds like they want to give people a better chance of passing. Well, I never had any problems in the past but some of these new question might do me in. I'm stuck on a question about Metal Penalty Targets. Has there been some new rulings on the use of metal penalty targets?
  9. The new RO Recert Exam is 20 questions this time around for me. I've always had 10 questions in the past. Does everyone get a 20 question treatment?
  10. You wouldn't think it was that big of a deal but it sure took me a while to comfortably shoot the open gun. Like what was said - try to let the gun do it's thing without you driving it. A good neutral grip works well.
  11. Does anyone know what powder Atlaanta Arms uses in their 38 Super Auto loads with the 125 gr JHP? What bullet do they use?
  12. What powder is AA using in 38 Super Auto with the 125 gr JHP?
  13. I don't know if this is related but a number of years ago I tried the +2 Dawson basepad and had trouble with the bottom rounds getting side by side with the follower when enough rounds were inserted to cause the follower and rounds to get below the ribs on the side of the mag. I was able to cure the problem by using the Arrendondo base pad insert. https://www.speedshooter.com/product_detail.cfm?id=AA10&n=Arredondo-Base-Pad-Inserts
  14. I learned how to shoot prone off a bipod by following the instructions in Rifles Only DVD #1. Their second DVD might be worthwhile for you too. https://www.riflesonly.com/rifles-only-instructional-videos
