  1. Been thinking about on for a while. The sale pushed me over the edge.
  2. I use three 140s and one 170. I will probably upgrade to 155s from the 140s. And I think the 155s will load like the 140s.
  3. Look up Tim Graves Custom Guns in Arizona. He does excellent work and will work with you. His website is awesome1911.com
  4. When I got my open gun I bought three MBX 140s and a 170 and they have been working perfect, and you don't need spacers for 9mm. I tuned some STI 140s for my limited gun but if I ever need more mags I'll just buy MBXs. Awesome to buy a 2011 mag that just works out of the box.
  5. If your going to install a magwell on a race ready frame you are going to have to remove the built in magwell probably by milling.
  6. Hey there I have a new 8 MOA I have an FFL and bought some for the guys in my club and have an extra. If your interested how about 370 shipped?

Ill be out of town until 9/10 so you have plenty of time to think about it. Keep it in mind.

    Thanks,

    Frank

  7. I was wondering why they would include a bracket for a shelf with it lol.
  8. So I have the opportunity to purchase the old style mr bulletfeeder, does anyone know about them? I have the new style and this one doesn't even look close. I looked online for instructions for the older model but couldn't find any. What I am interested in how or where to mount the unit. How to adjust for different bullet profiles and general feedback about the units. Thanks
  9. So. I got some Xtreme heavy plate bullet samples and tried them. Groups are still way to large for USPSA shooting and the bullets were key holing at longer distances. So the heavy plate is a little better but not good enough.
  10. I just ordered 2K Precision Delta 124s I know those are going to work. I called Xtreme today and they are sending me some heavy plate bullets to try for free. I'll see how they work
  11. I was wondering if the heavy plate would work. We have a group where we always buy 25k Xtreme at a time. I just don't want to be stuck with 5k bullets that won't work for me.
  12. So got my new 9mm open gun today. Loaded up some 124s with 7.0 grains of Autocomp to test the gun out. I found that I couldn't shoot a group at 15 yards and the bullets were key holing. I bought a box of 115 full metal jackets off the shelf and shot a 1 inch group at 25 yards. I think that the standard plating on the Xtreme bullets can't take the major velocities, does anyone have any experience with the heavy plated Xtreme bullet in 9 major or should I steer clear. I don't want to buy 6K bullets that I can't use in my open gun. Thanks in advance for the advice
  13. Try Tripp Cobra mags. I've had great results with them in 45 and 40 (10 mm).
  14. If your going to upgrade get a 1050. Even without a bullet feeder it will be fast as hell. I've got a 650 with a bullet feeder and my 1050 is just as fast or faster than my 650 with the feeder. Just be careful and if you have a stoppage clear your press so you don't wind up with a squib or double charge.
  15. I think it is a combination of the Actec extractor and a light load. Causes a timing error where the brass gets smashed in the ejection port.
  16. Get the 1050. I've got a 650 with GSI bullet feeder set up for 40 but my 1050 is faster without the feeder.
  17. Thanks for the info. Totally makes sense. I'm glad I don't have anything to worry about.
  18. Yeah that's just oil from a fresh cleaning. No issues with the barrel.
  19. I checked the gun safe and all my STIs are like this so I guess I'm ok. All my 45 1911s have no gap between the barrel and slide. Maybe it is a loaded chamber indicator.
  20. So STI replaced the slide on my 40 single stack after it broke. Now when I load it I could see the brass between the breech face and the extractor side of the barrel hood. This was definitely not like this when sent it to them. I fired a couple hundred rounds through the gun and didn't have any problems but I don't know about this gap. Is this safe. I know I wouldn't buy a gun like this but now I have one. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
  21. I have the GSI and have tool heads set up for 9, 40, and 45 on my XL 650. I had some issues when I first started using it but for the past two years my set ups have been working fine. Smooth handle movement is the key to making this work. I have the old design where the collator is mounted to the tool head so the press has to be mounted very solid because vibration will knock the bullets out of the collator ring. If you are going to change bullet weights or profiles you will most likely need to replace the collator ring so it will work properly. Their tech support is great even though sometimes I have to wait a day for a return call. I haven't tried one on my 1050 because it is fast as hell without a bullet feeder. If I started over again I would skip the 650 with bullet feeder and just buy a 1050.
