  1. I have not tried to load 9 or 11 in the 2nd mag but I will. Problem only occurs when I release the slide stop ON THE 2ND MAG? After the failure to fire, if I slingshot the slide it will eject the chambered round and the following 9 rounds will cycle with no glitches. It won't run with a 13# spring because I get stove pipes on ejection.
  2. Zero is the brand of bullet and yes its 165 grain weight. Sorry for the fat fingered typo. Yes, the issue is ALWAYS on the first shot of the second inserted magazine. I don't believe I have any skin dragging on the slide but I am under some pressure under the clock so I will pay more attention to technique the next time out. Bullets feed like butter on every cycle. No issues there but I will purposely slow the slide down and watch the bullets cycle in slow mo.
  3. Can you post a picture of what it looks like before and after rounding? Are you removing the flat beveled edge around the button? What does this do to the trigger and feel?
  4. I have a relatively new Gen 4 G35 which has about 500 rounds through it. It has a LW .40 bbl with a 3 port Carver comp. Shooting a 165 grain Zero jacketed bullet over 4.6 grains of N320. Brass falls 24” to the right. I can run 11# or 12# springs and the slide locks back consistently. A 13# spring has cycling issues with this load. The problem arises when I am shooting under a timer in bowling pin competitions. I load two 15 round mags with 10 rounds. I begin with the slide locked back, insert a magazine and release the slide stop to chamber the first round. The first 10 rounds run flawlessly and the slide locks back on the last shot. I insert the second mag, release the slide stop, pull the trigger and NOTHING happens, no click, nuthin’??? Since I don't hear a click (or the release of the striker) when I pull the trigger does this mean the slide has not returned fully into battery? I rapidly cycle the slide by hand, ejecting the live chambered round and the next nine run flawlessly, locking the slide back on the last shot. I have not numbered the mags to see if there might be an issue with one mag over the other. This is my first experience with a comp and its driving me up a wall trying to figure out the right load and spring rates. Any ideas why this is happening or things I can do to correct this?
  5. I saw a guy tonight shooting a 38 super, 2011 something? What impressed me most was the muzzle rise was non existent. It was amazing watching it from the side. Was this a function of the caliber or the guy running it?
  6. Are you using the captured rod as well? What is the spring weight of the stock OEM G35 spring?
  7. Is yours a captured spring or not on the Jager rod?
  8. I just bought a new Gen 4 G35 and replaced the OEM guide rod assembly for a SS Carver guide rod with a non-captured 13 lb spring and adapter bushing. I plan to shoot minor and low powered target rounds so that's the reason for going with the 13 lb set up. When I cycle the slide by hand while holding the muzzle level to the ground or to the sky, the slide doesn't return to full lock up unless I help it. I have not shot the pistol yet so I expect it will loosen up with a few hundred rounds through it but this is a bit concerning for me. Any opinions?
  9. I see the listed on Hodgon's website under bullet load data, bullet types. What does BERB stand for? Bullet Weight124 GR. BERB HBRN TP124 GR - Grain of bullet weight? BERB? HBRN - Hollow Base Round Nose? TP - Truncated Point ?

    Best slide lock

I ran a Ghost bullet for a while but had issues with the slide not locking back. The spring was weak so I bought the OEM extended, problem solved.
  11. I use a SJC mag release button. Its the largest one I know of. http://w.iwebcenters.com/bbenterprise2/ecommerce/sjc-glock-custom-accessories/sjc-magbutton.cfm
  12. I mostly shoot 180s in my Glock .40s. Would you care to share your load? I have shot a lot of the Xtreme TCFPs and find them one of the best values on the market for target shooting. I have ordered a box of 165 and 180 HPs to experiment with.
  13. Anyone used Xtreme's hollow point boolits? I have used their TCFP boolits which have worked quite well. However their HP design is quite different than any others I have seen or used,
  14. I have a FF III on my G22. If I "see" the red dot anywhere in the window does that mean that will be the POI or does the dot have to be held as close as possible in the center of the window?
  15. Which BT model was the most widely used? All I ever see locally are revolution models.
  16. Please excuse my noob questions but what is ELS, QLS, TMMS?
  17. Another Clays fan here. However, Bullseye works really well too.
  18. Are any of Ben's books available on video?
  19. I watched Bob's grip video a few times then practiced it during some dry fire drills. I took it to the range and shot my personal best times shooting bowling pins, beating the local champ twice. He was flabbergasted that I beat him, especially since I had never shot in any organized competitions before.
  20. I use my right thumb on my Glocks and 1911. The reason I asked is after watching a few videos of Rob Leatham it looks like he uses his left hand to release the slide stop.
  21. Can you expound on Leatham's statement about trying to break the grip? Is it a force applied from the front strap to the back strap of the grip or a side force applied to the outside of the grip panels like you were squeezing the grips panels in a vice?
  22. For a right handed shooter ... When making fast magazine changes, while the slide is locked to the rear, do you use your right thumb to release the slide back into battery or your left thumb? I use my right thumb but maybe there is a better, more efficient way to do it???
  23. I've never shot the BB's but have run 1K of the Xtreme 200. They fed well in all my Glocks.
  24. I last purchased it through Powder Valley but that was over a year ago and have not seen it since. Bummer because its my favorite powder.
