  1. I was doing at least 2 USPSA matches a month. That is until last November when I finished building my rifle, and AR ammo became readily available again. After that I started shooting 3gun and have been ever since. I will shoot my 1st pistol only match for the 1st time in 6 months in a couple of weeks

    Gen 3 or 4 34?

Grip Force Adapters make a beavertail for Gen 3 Glocks as well. I have one on mine. http://gripforceproducts.com/
  3. I know they will run for a while between cleanings, it's just that the Marine in me won't let it go that long.
  4. I'd say it depends on the scope. I really like my FFP Bushnell 1-4. Prefer it to the Burris line of scopes. Once you go higher end, like say the Vortex Razor II JM scope, I really like that one. Problem with some illuminated SFP scopes is the reticle is to large a busy for close range use like the MTAC. MTAC's reticle covers the whole target at closer range, and I found it harder to do hold overs with at closer range. Going top end scopes, I would still go FFP and get the Trijicon VCOG.
  5. Friend of mine has had issues with his 930 ever since he got it. FTF, FTE. every issue you can think of. Took his and mine to the range last weekend and started swapping parts from mine to his to see if we could diagnose the issue. After taking it apart a couple of times, we left his side saddle off since it was a pain to take off and put on every time. As soon as he no longer had the side saddle on, his issues went away. He put the side saddle on before he ever shot it. Not sure of the pins screws were a touch to small and it let the action move to much or what, but as soon as we put my stock pins into the gun it worked like a charm. The armorer at the range said he has seen several types of semi auto shotguns have issues once you install the side saddles. Only ones that didn't cause issues are the ones that Velcro on.
  6. I picked up a GG&G follower for mine, and it hasn't hung up since. The new one has beveled edges.
  7. I clean all of my guns every time I shoot them. But I'm an OCD former Marine.
  8. Went from an Apex Tactical Square Shooter comp on my AR to an SJC Titan. POI shifted 3" low and 2" right at 100. Didn't effect my accuracy though.
  9. Looking for some new sights for my Glock. Currently have the adjustable sights off of a Glock 34/35 on my G22. Now I am in search of some new adjustable sights for competition use. I know most competitive guys use blacked out rears with a fiber front, but that just does not work for me. Tried it and hated it. I trained with 3 dot sights for so long in the military and then with my 1911 when I got out, it's just what I am used to. So far I am looking at the Dawson sights: http://www.dawsonprecision.com/ProductDetail.jsp?LISTID=8000192F-1392410791. And the Novak sights: http://novaksights.com/products/sights/models/glock.html Novak sights are what I ran on my 1911's. Any other suggestions out there?
  10. Could be your browser to. I can't edit my posts when on here with Avant Browser, but can when I'm on Google Chrome.

  12. Personally, I would not be satisfied with the lack of reliability you describe. My JM930 functions in my hands and in the hands of friends, son, etc. I adjusted stock drop to correct poi to poa, not to fix a function issue. If I had a firearm that was only reliable after "fitting" I would look for the cause. Don't believe that is normal or acceptable. Its a tool that can cost points or life or limb, so needs to work under less than ideal circumstances. Just my opinion. It didn't "fit" me because of the size of my chest and shoulders. It just didn't shoulder naturally. The toe of the stock was what would hit my shoulder when I would shoulder it quickly, and since it wasn't seated properly, it had the issues. Once I put in the drop spacer, it shouldered properly, and I had no more issues. It seems to only be an issue with bigger guys, and super skinny guys. I had the same issue with my old Stoeger, and a Remington that I shot that belonged to a friend. After having the same issues with more than one gun, I stated investigating to see if I was doing something wrong. When my friends use it, the top of the stock hits them first. It just doesn't allow them to shoulder it properly without adjusting things. I have another friend that is very muscular and he was having issues with his gun as well. His gun was a Benelli. I let him shoot mine with the spacer installed, and it shot great for him to. He added a spacer to his Benelli and his issues went away as well.
  13. I had issues when I first got my 930 JM Pro. Failure to feed, failure to eject, and bolt locking back. Talked to some shotgun gurus on another shotgun specific forum and was recommended that I "fit" my shotgun. After some back and forth with them asking me questions, they told me to install the drop spacer that came with my shotgun. Issues went away immediately, and have never come back. I have let a couple of friends use mine since installing the drop and they have the issues when firing it since it's fitted to me. Check to see of your shotgun is fitted right, when quickly going from low ready to a firing position your head should naturally be lined up for you to look down the sights. If you have to adjust to head position when doing so, it's not "fitted" to you, and you need to experiment with the shims that came with the gun.
  14. Have one to, and no the reticle illumination is not daylight bright. But I can see the reticle easily during the day anyways. I really like it compared to the Burris TAC30 I had prior.
  15. Tough call at that price. Stag 3G upper is $775. And that has a heavy fluted 18" stainless barrel.
  16. Mostly I see people do this to help balance the rifle. A front heavy rifle feels heavier and doesn't swing as well. I went with the MagPul UBR stock on my rifle to help balance things out.
  17. They are the same material, but the black finish is cheaper to produce, so they are cheaper. I called and asked if there was a difference in weight before I bought mine and that's what I was told. I would get the stainless one if I was going to polish it.
  18. I had started shooting mostly USPSA pistol matches and had been using a Ghost Ultimate holster for my Glock. Since I am not mostly shooting 3gun and US Carbine Assoc matches and hardly ever do pistol only events I have ditched the race holster. Now I am looking at getting a GCode holster since I want the duty belt attachment for the drop. The OSH holster is more what I am used to, but was thinking about the XST with it's lvl2 retention for those stages that have you running and diving with the pistol in the holster. For those that use the GCode holsters, which do you prefer, and why?
  19. I wonder what brand springs the TT extensions come with? I do have one TT extension, but already had an Arredono extension on that mag, so I just swapped extensions and kept the spring from the other kit in there. Do they come with the Wolf Xtra power springs or another brand?
  20. Anytime I drop a mag I take it apart and clean it. Some of the ranges I shoot at have sugar sand which can gum things up. 99% of the time, I didn't need to clean them, but that 1% can be a pain.
  21. I run my inner belt overlap in the front, and my outer belt overlap in the back. Most who run Limited, Open, or shoot 3 gun run the belts this way. That way you can have mag pouches or shot shell caddies up front.
  22. I picked up some Surefire Ear Pro ER3's to use with my rifle. I have electronic earhuffs, but want in the ear protection for use with 3gun. I was fine with the EP3's when someone else was shooting, but my SJC Titan comp on my AR is a bit loud, especially around barrels and walls that push the sound back. Used a wall for support last night and it left my ears ringing. Ended up switching back to me electronic ear pro. I have heard the EP7's were better for use on open guns. Anyone have more experience with the Surefire ear pro that can give me some input?
  23. I have the Titan and there is no issue with back blast for the shooter. I have RO's a guy using one and the concussion can be felt by the RO, but as the shooter, it's not even noticeable.
  24. I would have to agree with this statement. I prefer my Mossberg, but my buddy that bought my Stoeger prefers it to mine. Says it fits him better. I ran the Stoeger for a year and was pretty happy with it. I mainly wanted a gun that I could put an XRail on if I want to shoot open, and the Stoeger wouldn't do that. Other than that, I would have kept the Stoeger.
