  2. Could you explain this a little more, for others that may be comparing barrels. What do the Nordics have that the Stag/Wilson/others don't? I can't without violating an NDA, so I won't. Yup, NDA's are fun. But the original statement convinced me to go with the Nordic. I like the look of the Stag, and the price, but don't mind paying a little more for quality. It's not like this has been a cheap build anyways, what's a few more $$$$'s gonna hurt?
  3. I'm not terribly worried about turn around time since I already have a barrel on the gun I can use until the new one gets here. What did they tell you there turn around time was BTW?
  4. The Nordic and Wilson Combat barrels are the same weight. Stag doesn't list a weight.
  5. There are 6 of us in the group I shoot in that have JM Pro's. 1 of the guys ordered a new lifter from Mossberg a month or so ago. He sent it to CRums to get welded up. once he got it back he gave the spare to me and I did the same. Then I gave it to the next guy and so on. We split the cost and it saved us from having a gun down while the lifter was being worked on since we shoot 3gun twice a month at least. We had no issue ordering one from them.
  6. That was what caught my attention. But the Nordic and Wilson Combat barrels are only $70ish more. Was wondering of they were worth the extra cash.
  7. Have a friend who wants my barrel, so It would cost me less to get a new one that it would to cut and recrown mine.
  8. I have been considering swapping my 20" FN CHF AR barrel out for an 18" barrel, since it makes the rifle like a broom handle with the 3" SJC Titan comp. Love the comp, so will be keeping it no matter what. My question is to those that have the 3G, how is your accuracy at 100 yards? I a getting good accuracy out of my current barrel and just want to be sure it's GTG. Which should I get? Stag 3G barrel $200: https://www.stagarms.com/18-5-56-fluted-barrel/ Nordic Components 18" 223 Wylde $269: http://nordiccomp.com/retail/shop/ar-15-10/nordic-223-wylde-18-competition-barrel/ Wilson Combat SPR 18" $275: http://shopwilsoncombat.com/Wilson-Combat-Match-Grade-Barrel-556-NATO-Special-Purpose-Rifle-18-1-7-Twist-Stainless/productinfo/TR-556SPR18/ Any other suggestions? I know I want to stick with 18", and rifle length gas system. Other than that, I am open to suggestions.
  9. Mossberg Accu-Choke tubes, same as the Mossberg 500 Which are also the same thing as Winchester, Browning Invector, and Weatherby as well as the Mossberg 500. I just picked up some extended chokes for mine and that's what was listed on the front of the Carlson's packaging.
  10. That was one of the things I was worried about. Never thought of that.
  11. That's about what worked in his. 1290 fps and 1 1/8 oz loads. he was planning to try some faster loads this week.
  12. Used a Benelli M2 with an XRail on it last week. Belonged to a friend and he let me use it. I was impressed with it. I'll be saving up for one myself. The only issue he had with it was due to the Benelli and not an issue with the XRail itself. Not sure of the M1 would have the same problem or not. Due to all the extra weight added to the gun it would short stroke every once in a while. He switched to some higher velocity ammo and that went away. My ammo was 1200fps and just didn't feed reliably. He had some 1290fps ammo that worked well. he said that he read online that you could swap out the recoil spring for a lighter one and it would fix the problem. Should see him next week at the match and I'll see if it did fix his issue. My gun is gas operated not inertia, so that wouldn't be an issue for me.
  13. Got to try out an M2 with an XRail last Thursday at a shotgun match. Buddy that had one let me use it for a stage. I was impressed. I will be picking up an Xrail soon.
  14. Mossberg 930 JM Pro 24" Nordic extension that came with the gun + an XXL end cap giving me 10+1 MatchSaver GG&G follower GG&G forward sling attachment point with rail Surefire 6PX flashlight Opened and extended feed port
  15. I have come to the conclusion that I want to build an open set up for 3gun. My rifle won't change much other than I will add a bipod. Shotgun I will be getting an XRail for, so it can still be used for Open or Tac Optics. Now it comes down to the pistol. My main concern is the holster. I have seen guys using standard kydex holsters and have to sling a rifle or shotgun, and when retrieving the long gun, they pull the pistol out of the holster and get DQ'd. I am currently running a Lvl2 holster due to this, and the fact that it will stay in the holster even when I run, and dive around. If I build an Open gun with a slide mounted RMR, I can use the holster I have now. But I know that a frame mounted optic is faster and better for the game. What holsters are you guys using with open pistols that hold the gun secure enough that an arrant sling won't pull it out?
  16. Check the spring plunger (not sure of it's name) that is in the stock with the recoil spring. Buddy of mine had tons of issues with his 930 and replaced tons of parts. He was getting ready to sell it when a gunsmith we know checked his gun out and noticed the the plunger had a crack in it and had rough edges. This was causing his bolt to not move freely or sluggishly. he replaced the part and they did a test fire and it seemed to work fine. We are going to the range tonight to run some more rounds through it and see if it fixed his issue. It's one of those parts that I would not have even known to look at. I plan to take mine apart and double check that it's in good condition to. Here is a pic of the new part. Not sure of he has pics of the damaged one. Edit: Just looked at a pic he texted me of his old plunger compared to the new one above which he got from Mossberg. The old one in his gun did not have the beveled edge you can see in the pic. Mine is like his new one, but mine is a newer gun than his. Wonder if this was one of the fixes they implemented?
  17. Heard there were a lot of issues with the early ones, especially the early 930SPX.
  18. Even Benelli's will short stroke if you don't shoulder them right. My M2 did it a few times when I shouldered to fast. This is a common thing with semi auto shotguns. That's why I attribute the issue to me and not the gun.
  19. Mine has eaten anything I feed it from day one. Some people are just gun snobs. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=192975&p=2139499Now I'm confused. That was an issue with fitment, not with my gun. Before I put the shims in I let a couple of friends shoot it and they had no issues at all. That's how I figured out it was fitted wrong. That and talking to some of the shotgun guru's that knew way more about it than me. I wasn't shouldering the gun right due to the fitment. The toe was hitting my shoulder and not the whole stock. The issue I had was due to me, not the gun. Once I installed the shim it shouldered more naturally for me and the issues went away.
  20. Many people open up the feed port on there shotguns. My 930 JM Pro came from the factory opened up more than most and I still took a file, dremel, and some sandpaper to it to open her up even more.

  22. From what I can find online, Chameleon changed the holder so that it's not so hard to get the shells out now. I just received mine today and even brand new the shells come out fairly easy. Holds them well enough that if I jump or run around they stay in place, but come out easy when you load. I picked this option so I could keep the shells off of the belt. I wanted to have my pistol and rifle mags spread out a little more instead of all bunched up. Really want to try the new Invictus Practical quad load set up that is similar to the Chameleon belt, but they have been out of stock
  23. I checked out TK's rifle last month at a match, and shot Tim's rifle (also with AA) with the low mass carrier in it last Sunday. They both have tons of rounds through them. I am actually considering an AA rifle length piston conversion for my rifle now. I like the Jet Comp they have to, just don't like ROing someone with it. Concussion on it is as bad as my SJC Titan, but it's effective. There shop is right down the road from me and we shoot a lot of the same local 3gun matches together.

    Gen 3 or 4 34?

Grip Force isn't Production legal if I'm not mistaken. Not sure, never shot production, only SS & Limited.
