  1. Happened my first week with a 2011, but hasn't happened again. I don't bother sorting brass, once I put them in a box I just pick out the stepped brass headstamps and shoot them in practice.
  2. Here's an SP01 slide I fit with a Shadow rear and TS front: I relieved the underside of the rear sight to work with the SP01 slide cut, I've also ground down the slide behind the dovetail to the same end.
  3. The chamber is not the limiting factor, it's the mags; RN should work out to ~1.170"
  4. What bullet weight? I like 115s Powder? I like 3N38 or HS6 High 8ish grains of HS6 under a 115 an 1.15-1.17 should be in the 165-175 range (low to mid nines with 3n38).
  5. I had an audiologist make custom plugs twice and didn't care for them, they blocked less sound than my foam plugs. I shoot Open so I double up with foam plugs and Howard Leight L3s; can't hear shit
  6. Oh, and I've never broken one. That seems strange since the roller plunger doesn't even use a pin, the head just sits on the post.
  7. It looks like you may be in luck! EAA makes mistakes in pricing sometimes... The description says "trigger bar spring" but also lists four parts from the diagram (#3.7 - #3.10). Maybe you get what you need for $3 http://eaacorp.com/gun_accessories/index.php/parts/tanfoglio/witness/witness-parts/witness/witness-trigger-bar-spring-3-7-3-10-301711.html

    Which CZ?

    SP01 and these steps: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773
  9. Is that Frontier Copper Plated? Are you running spacer mags? In my 5.1" CZ I got 172pf with an Xtreme plated RN at 1.158" over 8.8gr HS6, your STI will probably run a little slower.
  10. Round the bottom portion of the firing pin stop to make it look like the one in kneelingatlas's picture. That will help reduce the initial muzzle flip.
  11. I think your pencil test is a good indicator of ignition reliability, but spring weight ratings across manufacturers are not. Sell your primers to a Limited shooter, buy Federals, find a reliable setup and stick to the same brand of hammer springs.
  12. I also have an old one like yours with a modern dot/mount
  13. I like to build custom Open guns from Limited pistols: Eric Grauffel stocks the factory three port comp and EAA has surprising lowered their prices on the 6" straight barrel so you just thread it M15x0.75 (dies available on EBay from China), cut to length, screw on the comp, drill ports to preference, and reduce weight as desired.
  14. You could screw a plastic pad to the bottom of a regular pad.
  15. I have a magwell, I've never seen the base pad, if you want a big stick why not buy one?
  16. Are you talking about this one? http://czcustom.com/czc-parts-made-in-the-usa/cz-tactical-sports-10-rnd-aluminum-base-pad.html From what I read it should come flush (or a little below) to the bottom of the IPSC magwell. If you're interested in one, I just so happen to have an extra one brand new
  17. I don't think anyone mentioned magnum pistol primers in this thread Grump

  19. What is you don't like about N105? If you can make major with it I can't see any reason to use a faster powder.
  20. I have yet to see a 9mm case with a pierced primer
  21. That's an interesting statement ShadoFann. I too want to prevent breech face erosion, but my thinking leads me to use SPP exclusively for 9 Major. I figure SRP don't seal the primer pocket as well allowing gasses to escape around the primer and erode the breech face. Admittedly this is only speculation on my part and I've only been shooting 9 major for ~3 1/2 years, ~20K rounds, but spread over multiple guns with no single gun firing more than say 10K; I would be interested in hearing from someone with higher mileage guns. It is worth noting none of my pistols show any signs of breech face erosion.
  22. How much radius does your firing pin stop have? I like them like this: I would also measure slide travel with and without a recoil spring to confirm the spring us not binding, try a 17# main and 10# recoil. Lastly just by looking at it, it looks like the majority of the weight is taken from the front of the slide, in my experience that makes for a more flippy, violent impulse, so taking some weight from the rear could help. It you don't want to cut it you could always sell it and buy an Edge.
  23. You misunderstand, I think your feed problem is a cartridge length problem, but to solve it you need a longer chamber.
