  1. Yes, I suspect this comp would work with a 1/2x28 CZC threaded barrel on a TSO, the comp has a set screw in the bottom.
  2. Yesterday I finally had a reason to try out a Lone Wolf Glock comp on a CZ and it worked surprisingly well (when complimented by a light slide and three 5/32" holes). The best part is that it clears the frame of an SP01 when screwed onto a CZC threaded barrel! I assume it would also clear the frame of a TS as well, be sure to post here if anyone tries it.
  3. Sam did the hard work of fitting the cone to the bushing of his Shadow 2 slide, if you use a TS slide, you cut the slide further back behind the bushing or is you use a CZ 75 slide and a TS barrel, you can cut the cone off the sight block, like this: This one is actually a Witness one port comp with the port welded up.
  4. You should have some daylight between the slide and the comp
  5. My experience defies this logic, I've been running an aluminum comp (1/2 the weight of the steel comp and a half ounce lighter than the Sebo comp) for more than two years and tens of thousands of rounds and have yet to change my factory slide stop.
  6. I understand what you're trying to do, if you start with a TS barrel, thread it yourself and trial fit you can get what you're looking for
  7. The trick to getting it to cycle is 40gr high velocity ammo, 37gr doesn't work as well if at all. As Maurice mentioned you may also get light strikes if you run a light hammer spring.
  8. They have a similar burn rate, but they're not exactly the same (SWMP is actually a little slower), @Leadpilot took this picture for comparison: Shooters' World Major Pistol on the left, AA7 on the right
  9. I'm not positive on the latest Production rules, but Tanfoglio small frame parts swap into these guns (hammers, disconnectors), they use the same type of trigger plunger system as the Witness pistols, with a long hammer spring like a CZ. You may not find a perfect competition rear sight, but CZ rear sights can be modified to fit and a FO front sight can be ordered from EAA (I have an extra lying around too).
  10. Jericho 941, just like a Stock II, but smaller grip: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/872801085
  11. Autocomp is a popular powder, but it's about as fast as practical for 9 major, of the powders you have, AA7 would be my preference, it'll take 9ish grains to make major under 124s.
  12. I shoot Montana Gold complete metal jacket bullets, they have no exposed lead so you don't get any residue in the comp. Here are my thoughts on component selection:
  13. The frame may get a little dirty, but nothing a little Hoppes can't fix
  14. Andy, have you read this thread?
  15. They go for $2500-$2800 usually with lots of mags and base pads. Check for wear on the slide stop or a crack on the lower lug of the barrel, but even then, both parts are easily replaced.
  16. Welcome to the forum Nate Like you I have a passion for shooting/gunsmithing and I also have a high-end commercial construction company which gives me a unique vantage point. I know I'm the fun-buster here, but I suggest you get a job either from a custom gun shop or a machine shop and let someone pay you to learn the business. Reach out to Rick Hebert in Colorado and see if he'll let you clean his shop in exchange for some mentorship.
  17. I suggest buying a used Czechmate to try Open, if you decide it's not for you, you can likely sell it for close to what you paid for it. Are you reloading? If not, you don't really get the benefit of the comp. Shooting factory ammo, I suggest you just bolt a dot to your TSO and give it a try. Invariably you'll love it because Open is awesome, then you'll buy $2,000 worth of reloading gear, $5,000 worth of guns, then spend $10,000 developing your own comp
