Is he still operating?

The checkering is not cut into the metal like I expected, but rather pressed through like the fine side of a cheese grater. I decided the finished product would likely be a disappointment, so I packed them up and shipped them back. I've found a gunsmith who does checkering with a laser for $175 front and back, so I think I'll give him a try.

I found these Wilson Combat checkering panels for $9.95 each, so I thought I'd see if I could make them work on a CZ. They're a little big for the flat spots on the frame so I'll have to cut them down to size. They're thinner than I expected (0.006") so they can't be welded, but I think I can glue them on, either with epoxy or JB Weld, any thoughts? Should I sand the frame to bare metal or glue right to the coating?

After 49 days of waiting, my Robin Sebo Ti Czechmate comp showed up this week: my first impression: woah sparks! I've owned Ti comps before and never noticed sparks thrown out the ports, but I'm told it's par for the course. It may be slightly flatter, but the harder hit in the hand combined with the noise and sparks results in a violent affair. I still want to shoot it at speed and see how much of that I notice, but all in all its a quality product and an improvement over the factory steel comp.

Carry Optics shooters use slide mounted optics because frame mounted optics are not allowed in Carry Optics, most Open shooters use frame mounted optics.

Any of these would be great if you can find them: Vectan SP2 Lovex D037.1 (AKA Shooters World Major Pistol) Ramshot True Blue

You're overthinking this, a file or sandpaper will work just fine. The gap between the slide and comp should be big enough to see daylight through it, if you try to make it too tight, the slide will impact the comp during firing and break it loose on the threads.

EAA/Tanfoglio Chop Shop - NO SELLING OR TRADING
kneelingatlas replied to kneelingatlas's topic in Tanfoglio (EAA / IFG)
The OD of a 10mm Tanfoglio barrel is 15mm, the easiest thing to do would be to turn it down and cut a 9/16" thread. -

@Pippu_Paladin Here's a picture of what you're talking about: In the compact slide, the barrel points down more dramacally than in a full sized. -
Small pistol vs Small rifle primers for major
kneelingatlas replied to NOSHMJ's topic in 9mm/38 Caliber
I have used Federal SPP (widely accepted as the softest primers on the market) and have never pierced a primer although I typically load powders on the slower end of the spectrum resulting in lower chamber pressures. Check out this thread on 9 major component selection: -
#1 on that list is what I shoot: 10.5gr of World Shooters Major Pistol under a 115gr MG CMJ. Best load available if you ask me

Should be fun! What type of ammo are you using?

The Czechmate recoil spring housing drops right into a 9mm TS slide, however the result is a slightly shorter stroke than the Czechmate so if you want the same or more, you have to remove some metal. I've never threaded a guide rod, but I have drilled and tapped a cut slide, then glued in a set screw with the center drilled out for the guide rod; it was not fun and I don't recommend it. If you're looking for those Czechmate specific parts, send me a PM, I might have some extra.

Yes, like this one. It uses a small frame Tanfoglio comp: Tanfoglio makes an aluminum three port .40 comp, let me know it you have trouble sourcing one in Europe
