  1. If you're not reloading and just want to scratch the Open itch I suggest a minor gun with no comp. Which platform are you thinking?
  2. I load SC with the same dies as 38 Super, the 9mm shell plate is a hair loose on the case and I've heard the 223 plate works better so I might give it a try if I start shooting a lot more SC.
  3. First off, I'm dying to see pictures of the beast Second, if you have both 9x19 and 9x21 barrels, I would stick to 9x19 since the mags are limiting your OAL, not the brass. I've never loaded for a Beretta, but I do have small frame CZ/EAA Open guns which don't have issues in the mags until 1.18" with RN bullets (FP might be a little shorter). What weight bullets will you be shooting? I shoot mostly 115s.
  4. I just typed "hulk corn" into Google Images and went to town!
  5. The Hogue grips are a modified set made from the CZ75 model. I'm not aware of any small framed Matches, so I'd bet yours is a large frame, if your mags hols 14-15 rounds of 40 you have a large frame, small frame 40s only hold 11-12 in a factory mag.
  6. Polygonal rifling is not friendly to cast bullets, plated or jacketed bullets will keep it cleaner longer if it bothers you. Personally I don't clean my barrels; I read a comment from Brian Enos once that more barrels are damaged from cleaning than shooting
  7. Looks good Kyal, V8 Gold Team? What effect would you describe when you drilled the holes in the side of the comp?
  8. Mic said he's using 124s, it's only cowboys like me using 147s
  9. It takes ~1gr more HS-6 to make the same PF so in theory it give you more gas, but I haven't yet done a blind taste test. It is dirtier and maybe a hair harsher.
  10. I'm not a Glock guy, but someone in the Glock subforum could probably get you dialed in. If you're going to bump the charge you'll probably be fine.
  11. I think you'll really enjoy a lighter spring.
  12. That load probably doesn't make minor, but with a light enough recoil spring you should be able to cycle ammo at ~100pf.
  13. Are you using a chrono? I'm not in favor of jacking up the charge to get the gun to run, a lighter recoil spring should do it for you.
  14. "Load as long as you can" is a popular word of wisdom which I belive is rarely tested empirically, but is certainly rational enough given what is known about OAL, burn rates and bullet weights. There are some pushing the envelope to see where the limits are for their particular equipment: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=205116&view=&hl=&fromsearch=1 To me, loading long with non compensated pistols seems to run counter to the goal of a softer load since the longer the load the more powder it takes to make the same velocity.
  15. Slowest powder and lightest bullets so 165gr and WSF right?
  16. Man, 60 to 75 seems like a really long way I guess it's time to pick a gun and practice
  17. Am I the only one who uses the barrel of the gun I plan to use? I just hold the barrel muzzle up stick each round in the chamber and let them drop free into a bucket, those which don't drop free get used up in practice.
