  1. Did you ever try the SP01 trigger, it's nearly identical to the Stock II trigger.
  2. If the pencil exits the barrel it's a good sign. Andreas' advice is sound, if you're using an extended firing pin and a 13# hammer spring you're good, 11.5# Winchester, Federal and maybe CCI, 8.5# is Fed's only.
  3. Do you have a plastic recoil buffer installed?
  4. Stick a .22 upper on it and sell it off
  5. That all depends on the gun, a shorty with three holes might shoot softest at 150pf, while a full sized gun with no holes might shoot softest at 175pf. By the time my shorty hits 170pf it's pretty nasty with 115s, 124s calm it down a little and I'd like to try 135s just for giggles. The powder charge makes the gas and I think at some point you're just making more gas than the comp can use.
  6. The frame is rust blued which needs to be removed before hard chroming, I think the people at APW know what they're doing. I read an article about home bluing which said 400 grit is the magic number were carbon steel will still take a surface treatment, any smoother and it becomes polished and no longer porous enough.
  7. Welcome to the Chop Shop Jeff If you say you have small hands, flat grips are going to be the first thing on your list. I haven't compared measurements, but just by feel, I think the Match is the largest of the Tanfoglios, that being said there is metal which could be removed if you so chose. I suggest you get the pistol in hand, put some rounds through it and see how you like it first. For comparison's sake, my hand is just over 9 1/2" from the tip of my thumb to the tip of my pinkie when opened wide and I think the match is too big with the rubber factory grips, too small with flat grips and just right with the factory plastic grips
  8. I've been inclined to stayed out of this thread, but at this point I think I can add some value. I've owned more than two dozen CZ75 pattern pistols including CZs, Tanfoglios, Jerichos and Caniks spanning over 30 years and multiple importers, so I think I can speak with a reasonable amount of credibility. When you say "the customer" you're not talking about Mike the individual customer, but rather the aggregate of all CZ customers, right? CZ UB (the manufacturer) receives feedback from "the customer" in a variety of ways: individually, indirectly through their importers/distributors and most importantly through sales of their guns. The fact that CZ pistols are sold out as soon as they hit the shelves sends the manufacturer a loud and clear message that they're giving the customer exactly what they want: superb function and reliability. Aesthetics are clearly not a high priority for CZ and if they continue to sell everything they can manufacture, why would that change? If you plan to shoot USPSA with this pistol a Kydex holster will chew through the factory polycoat finish very quickly, so if the appearance of your pistol is important to you I suggest hard chrome or Cerakote. With regards to the barrel there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason for the color of the coating, most of the CZ barrels I have are done in a grey color that hides wear very nicely, I have one barrel from a 2007 TS in that black and it looks just like yours, I also have one polished to a silver shine which looks very nice. Among the variants from other countries, the finest quality of machining and exterior finish I've seen is actually a $400 TriStar imported Canik. There are no visible tooling marks inside the gun, and every part is coated with a durable black finish I have yet to penetrate. Excellent value Seth already provided some great links for tools and here's my contribution: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773 Welcome to the club and enjoy your pistol!
  9. If you want to shoot Limited with a TS here's what I recommend: -CZC base pads, springs, followers -CR Speed belt, WSM II holster and Versa pouches With the CZC mag parts you should get 21 +1 capacity right out of the box
  10. Hmmm... With the rear sight bottomed out the 22 conversion still shoots 1 1/2" high at 10 yards That tells me the 0.275" sight should be just right, but that's really tall... I'm going to try a different conversion and see what I see.
  11. Rather than clip a coil or two at a time, cut it in two pieces, one slightly longer than the other so you have two springs to try.
  12. Damn good question, do you have an extra? You could probably cut it 40/60 and try either side, but I'm not sure how much softer it's going to get. I would try to find another spring of suitable diameter made from thinner wire (I know, easier said than done right?).
  13. New 9mm barrel: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=206107#entry2288761
  14. Baby Eagle 9mm, small grip, shoots soft, same internal components as the Stock II, can be had for ~$500
  15. Not drop in, but easy fitting with a file.
  16. I'm not sure you need to change the extractor, but definely barrel and mags.
  17. APPENDIX D2 Limited Division 19 Handgun specifically approved for Division N/A There's your answer. Production is the only division which tells you what you can do, the others only tell you what you can't do.
  18. Welcome I'm in San Diego also, do you shoot any of the local matches?
  19. Bjay, Do you plan to handload minor ammo, or are you planning to shoot factory ammo?
  20. It's still sitting in my tackle box, waiting... It just keeps getting pushed down the list for more exciting projects.
  21. The trouble is there's something to love about every platform (except maybe Glock ). In the beginning my plan was to get both the CZs and the Tanfos so I could objectively decide which one is "best"... More than two dozen competition pistols later I still can't decide! I just picked up my first two 2011s "just to try" and while they are very sweet I don't think I'm in love, definitely not ready to sell off the CZs/Tanfos
