  2. It really depends where you're getting it, I'm a member of an indoor range where the vast majority of shooters are shooting factory ammo so I show up, scoop up some fresh brass, shoot and leave mine behind. As far as 9mm being more violent than 38... All things being equal you're using more powder to make the same PF with the same bullet. At least the 38s I have are built with more holes so while they're flatter, they're even more violent. It sounds like your heart is set on 38, so go for it
  3. I have both and here's my assessment: after I shoot a stage I'd rather be taping targets, resetting steel and talking to friends rather than hunting down my brass for the next three runs. 9mm brass is everywhere, so YOUR brass is not important to your recovery rate only that you pick up as much as you shot, when you pick up what little 38 brass is lying around, if it was shot from someone else's gun, you'll probably give it back to them. I bought all my 38 brass and I recover it at a rate of ~75%, 9mm on the other hand I have never bought and my stock just keeps growing
  4. It's worth noting a Jericho shares most internal parts with a Stock II so it can be made into a formidable Production blaster.
  5. The pivot point of a 1911 safety is ~1/2" further back, so it's never going to feel the same, but I'm sure it's an improvement.
  6. Glock is a HP clone too?!? I've shot and worked on both CZs and HPs and I would love to hear that list of similarities
  7. Similar insofar as they both go bang and bullets come out the front right? No. The HP is a frame in slide design like the 1911, but the CZ75 is a slide in frame design; the internals of the HP are completely different than the CZ. While the idea of a double stack 9mm may have been inspired by the HP and the grip shape is similar, that's about it.
  8. The SD in your screen name doesn't mean you're in San Diego does it?
  9. One thing to add to Grumpy's advice: use a file to put a slight bevel on the bottom edge of the breech on the slide, not a lot, just enough so it isn't sharp.
  10. You should ask Stuart, but I'm not sure you won't mill though the top of the cavity for the firing pin block if you install the LPA rear... I have installed the HAJO rear on an SP01 though.
  11. Tactical Sport is THE CZ for Limited major.
  12. I have a 9mm Limited barrel I would sell to you if it doesn't turn out the way you want it to.
  13. The law of unintended consequences right? I've done one SSE per 30 for the last two years!
  14. How do you like your 2011 based guns compaired to your Cz? The trouble when comparing guns is there's something to love about all of them A big part of my motivation to try some 2011s was the closing loophole in CA through which I could get them and I was also curious about 38 super Open guns, so when I had a chance to pick up a few 2011s in 38 I jumped on it. For my last gun of the year I grabbed a full sized 9mm 2011 with Jared's comp which I'm excited to try this Friday A big plus for me is the weight of a 2011 Open gun: my CZ TS based Open gun weighs a portly 54oz whereas my Ti comped, aluminum guide rod Bedell super shorty 2011 only weighs 41oz. Although I do have a CZ 75 SA based Open gun I've been working on that currently weighs 42.1oz and that's before the Mike Rush supermodel diet starts! The tough part about the CZ/Tanfo Open guns is that everything is custom, but that's also the nice thing once you figure out what you want (and get someone to do the work for you ).

    CZ 97B 45 acp

For what it's worth I found the 97B to be too tall in the hand for my liking, the EAA witness is a very similar gun with a lower profile slide and the ability to swap calibers.
  16. Not a good indicator. If you're concerned, bring your chrono and call him out. Are you a match official? or just a concerned shooter?
  17. Tony, I agree your recoil spring is likely too heavy for shooters in question with the loads you're talking about, but the hammer spring also plays a role in the cycle of the slide, if your gun has the factory spring in it it's ~18#. A lighter spring there would also help cycle light loads.
  18. Do you have a local shooting forum? I also started reloading when nothing was available, I saw primers in stock online, bought 20k and traded them for everything else I needed.
  19. It "should" work, but I've found with CZs what should work often needs a little fitting. Tanfoglio on the other hand: if it should work it does
