  1. Is there a reason not to switch to crushed walnut?
  2. The top of the firing pin block hole is very close to the bottom of the dovetail.
  3. Oceanside?!? Do we ever shoot together?
  4. I have a bunch of CZ and Tanfoglio recoil springs all mixed up, I just use whatever.
  5. To be sure it's a fun project, but there are no points awarded for flatness
  6. That's what the recoil spring housing is for, it works like a reverse plug on a 2011:
  7. I have a few thoughts: - Ifyou want to meaningful slow-mo analysis you need more frames per second and a tighter frame. Look at this video: Compared to this one: - That said, after six years of chasing the the ultimate flat shooting Open gun, I've concluded while it's a fun project and nice for bragging rights, flatness is largely overrated in terms of scoring. As long as your gun runs 100% of the time, it won't hold you back.
  8. Yes, slower powders and lighter bullets tend to make for lower pressure loads
  9. Mark, before you spend money changing the gun, change your load, you can always change back. Open guns need gas to shoot flat, more powder, more gas, lighter bullet, more powder, slower powder, more gas. You're loading 7gr of WAC under a 125, but you could be loading 10+ gr of AA7 or Shooters World Major under a 115. HS6 under a 125 is a move in the right direction, but there are miles to go
  10. No, the no port barrel would be about a quarter inch too long, but my comp is a direct replacement
  11. I thread by hand and I use electrical tape wrapped around the barrel to keep it centered in the die holder. It actually works really well.
  12. The crack is just in the comp right? Put on one of mine!
  13. I learned to compete with a 47gr trigger in an Olympic rapid fire pistol (yes that's 1.6oz) so there's no trigger too light for me, but most of my Open guns are 1.5-2.5lbs. In the end, the better your control over your trigger finger, the less it matters.
  14. Is it a 75B SA? or the DA/SA model with the taper at the muzzle?
  15. These comps are made for barrels with an OD of 14mm, 75B 9mm barrels are 12.75mm OD. If you have a 75 you're trying to turn into an open gun, I can set you up with a complete top end. Email me some pictures of what you have going on: kneelingatlas@gmail.com.
  16. So did it work? How much fitting did it take?
  17. Awesome! If you have any trouble, just post here and someone will help in short order.
  18. If you can change the trigger, you shouldn't have a problem with anything else. As far as the polishing goes, the parts will eventually wear smooth with use, polishing is just a shortcut to a smooth action.
  19. The gun show would be the easiest way to unload it, but the cost of a booth would likely eat up your win all, I would try GunBroker first.
