No, if you chop the slide to accommodate the CM cone comp you would need the front sight adapter from the CM to shoot without the comp, the TS barrel would no longer shoot in that slide.

I remember getting some very different advice from you that set me on my current path with my SP-01! lol Every case is unique If he hasn't shot his first match yet and already has a capable pistol, why not give it a try? Sure, competition isn't for everyone; it might take a few months to see if you get hooked.

I love CZs, but if you already have a G34, just shoot that while you get a feel for completion and get to lusting after another division. You can certainly become a GM with a G34.

The CM barrel is the same length as the TS barrel, so you have to cut back the slide. I've made a few CZ Open guns based on the TS and the 75SA so I'd be happy to help with technical questions.

Many of the older small frame models use the long hammer spring, just like a CZ and lack FPBs like a Shadow.

I'm pretty sure your lack of pretravel is the issue, try racking the slide, then pushing forward on the trigger, I'll bet it resets.
