  1. I don't know what it is in Italy, but in the US "chrome" refers to chrome plating. I can file burrs from a thousand reloads off the frame on the Stock 2 and there is no plating, I would call that Stainless Steel.I'm not a metallurgist or anything so FYI... You might want to take a magnet to that Tanfo of yours, I'm pretty sure it's chromed.
  2. Freudian slip? An apt one for the 10mm such a righteous round that if archangel Michael were walking the Earth today he'd be vanquishing souls with a steel 10mm!
  3. Everything polished like glass?
  4. I do, and I don't have a problem with Winchester or Federal

    CZ Open

There's a company in NZ making these:
  6. I've never kept track of loadings because I shoot whatever brass I pick up; I've only had one case failure and everyone on here told me it was a bad brand of brass (ammoland). I would imagine a single piece of brass would survive 6-8 loading easy. I'm a member of a range which is littered with once fired 9mm brass, so when I go I just scoop up a pile, shoot mine and leave it. I'd be surprised if any of the cases in my stash have more than 3-4 loadings on them.
  7. Jacketed bullets generally talk more powder to make the same velocity, but tend to be more accurate than plated.
  8. The dovetail is the same size (~9.3mm) on all the CZs regardless of the sight style.
  9. It looks like the Czechmate racker is out of stock: http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/550047000001_Slide-Racker-For-Tsczechmate-Only But they do have them from time to time. Unfortunately the CZ dovetail is larger than the standard 2011 Rackers are too small. I've welded more metal on and also made my own, are you building an Open 75?
  10. If it's just a range toy and a way to get your feet wet in the platform I would get a Match, it's a lot of bang for the buck, then if you end up with a high end Tanfo later you can swap the 10mm slide onto it. You pay a premium for the Stock IIs and IIIs in 9mm because that's the hot ticket for Production division and conversion kits aren't legal in Production.
  11. I guess it all depends what you want it for? Range toy? Hunting? Home defense? Zombies on PCP?!? DA/SA or SAO?
  12. The Stock III is a longslide (4.75"), this will help with the terms: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178651
  13. If you're not crazy about chrome, the Stock III is a perfect choice, it's a 1/4" longer than the Stock II and has the heft to make shooting 10mm loads much more comfortable. It has the competition frame with awesome checkering as well.
  14. The tolerance of slide to frame fit is a crap shoot, plus chances of getting a 10mm Stock II conversation are slim. If I wanted that setup I would buy a Stock I in 10mm, then a Stock II in whatever, then swat top ends. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=487082084 Are you stuck on the Stock II? Here's a great deal on a Stock III 10mm: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=487138249 Or a Limited Pro 10mm if you like the chrome: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=487344321
  15. Good price too! http://oakhillguns.com/eaa-witness-stock-iii-9mm.html
  16. Another reason to have two barrels is that your 38 barrel has more holes than you could get away with shooting 9mm
  17. A short chambered, gunsmith cut 9x19 chamber is perfect for firing bullets from a 9x19 case, a 38 super chamber is good enough for the same purpose.
  18. People pay a lot to get from "good enough" to "perfect" don't they?
  19. I'm going some work on the Akai gun, so I haven't shot them side by side, nor have I put a lot of rounds through it, but from memory I'd say muzzle flip is about the same, but the Akai is much softer (less snap or straight back push). It's going to be hard to compare those two because while they both have two 3/16" holes, the Akai has a 4.9" 38 barrel while the other has a 5.4" 9 barrel.
  20. I would not build a full sized bull barrel 2011 with a steel comp. I have the Binary Engineering on a full size 9mm which is pretty awesome, but I wouldn't rule out the Akai gill comp either, it's by far the softest in the hand among those I've shot.
  21. I wouldn't be in a big hurry to change the hammer on your Shadow just yet. I'm pretty sure I've had at least one of every CZ hammer and the one on my Shadow Target is the factory Shadow hammer. The comp hammer and the Shadow hammer have very similar hooks, with slight variations from hammer to hammer; on average I've found (in my small sample group) the Shadow hammers to have less camming than the comp hammers. (Stock, Shadow, Comp) #2 SA pull is attainable with either, but either will likely be ~2.5# w/o polishing. Your DA pull weight has nothing to do with the hammer, since it breaks when the disco slips off the trigger bar.
