  1. I just picked up a LDC PT frame and it's pretty heavy (9.4 oz completely stripped) and before I go to the trouble of stripping down my other guns I thought I'd ask if anyone knows off hand how much a standard SDC frame and a wide SDC frame weighs?
  2. Yikes, that little spike looks scary!
  3. I would go with the SA over the 75B because for the same price you get a better frame setup.
  4. A TS slide needs modification to fit an SP01 frame. It might be tough to find the .40 top end, I'd suggest you buy a 40 SA and swap top ends.
  5. Can't be done, the decocker is in a different location than the safety on the 75 series guns. The thing to do is to get a 40 top end and put it on an SP01 (you could even do a TS top end).
  6. I've found a shorter barrel has a greater effect on velocity than holes in the barrel; you might see a 10% drop in velocity per inch of barrel but only a 1-2% drop per hole.
  7. It might, but probably won't; I've sliced and diced some hammers and the only one I've cracked is really thin. Besides, if it cracks you'll have a reason to buy the badass one in the link
  8. Yup, get out the grinder!
  9. Hammer bite with a TS? hacking off the spur will serve your purposes then.
  10. It's not really the mass of the hammer, but the hooks which make the real difference, the hammer you linked to is the best I've tried, and I've tried them all!
  11. Welcome to the Dark Side! Before you throw your big stick away, what brand is it? new or used? 9 or 38? spacer?
  12. Start writing letters! Hopefully you can get it on the shelves before my stash runs out
  13. The Grams 11mm pad is the longest I know of, that on a 170mm tube might get you 32. http://www.gramsengineering.com/products/?p=productsMore&iProduct=3
  14. I use mostly Winchester SPP and don't flatten the primers at all with 115s and slow powder.
  15. It doesn't get much better than 115s over 3n38! I use ~9.4gr
  16. The one I have came on a Limited Pro, I've actually never seen a Limited Pro with an ambi safety.
  17. Filling down the safety is not ssp legal. I'll trade you for a wide paddle single sided safety.
  18. Is your safety ambi and black with the wide paddle on the left?
  19. I don't know who's told you 40 Open doesn't make enough gas, but that's not why I don't shoot 40 Open. It's not an Open gun, but just for comparison's sake, I loaded the same weight bullet (135gr) over the same charge (3.5gr of Clays) in both 9mm and 40, the fired both over the chrono through identical Stock IIs in 9 and 40; what I found was the 40 had a significantly harsher recoil at a lower PF (117 vs 125). All things being equal, I'll take 9, but all things aren't equal, I shoot 115s in my 9mm Open gun, but I've never seen 40 bullets lighter than 135, and those aren't exactly cheap or plentiful. Less capacity, more expensive components, heavier bullets, more recoil, how are those for reasons?
  20. I've seen those two sights on different slides with no rhyme or reason.
  21. Thanks kneelingatlas. I will give your suggestion a try. How would Autocomp work with the a 115gr bullet? I also did not mention I have 3 poppel holes in the barrel. With three holes it might take closer to 9gr which is OK to load as long as you don't run the press like a drunken sailor WAC will work too, just a little harder in the hand.
  22. 8.6gr of HS6 under a 115gr plated bullet at 1.156" got me 166pf in a 5.1" CZ barrel with no holes. I've gone as high as 9.5gr which made 181 in the same gun.
