  1. Welcome from Circleville, Ohio!! My opinion on what press ...Any Dillon that suits your needs.
  2. Well put ql practice on the back burner for a couple weeks focusing on uspsa local match. Back at it now... so far I have changed angle of the ap ql8 on my belt and really focusing on the grab. Seems that is where it makes or break the load. Going pretty good so far soon as rain let's up here going out for some live fire on timer to see where I am.
  3. Ok just tried 2 things talked about here that I was doing wrong. Noticed that I was very sloppy with the grab. Need to grip shells a little stronger. Also I was holding the gun under right arm pit with the gun straight out, tipped down to about a 45° angle. Seems these 2 things have already made a difference. Thanks for the Tips. Seems that I need to slow down and just get the fundamentals down before speeding up.
  4. Ok so I sent my versamax off to C-rums and had the load port done along with welded lifter so that I could quad load. Loading from ap custom ql8. I have spent about 3 nights trying to get the fundamentals down with very little success. I have watched multiple videos and it just seems that I am doing all the right things but when I try to do it even at half speed I just fumble rounds like crazy. If I do it slow speed it goes pretty good. I am currently trying to do it weak hand. I can load 2 like a mad man no problem. So for the people who have mastered the quad load how long or how much practice did it take to get it down?

Depends on bullet choice but figure 10-12 cents bullet 3 cents primer 5 cents powder so right around 20 cents per round if you have brass then you will need everything for case prep tat can run from $50 to $500
  7. Steel shooting is a blast. It's what I started out doing competitively. Welcome to the forum's
  8. The plates I had made were from ar400. He just happened to have some scrap laying around that he made my stuff with .
  9. Just received my shotgun back from Jeff with C-rums!!! It started as a 26" versamax sportsman. I added the Nordic extention and a 5" fiber optic front sight. Shot all last year weak hand loading and chewing my thumb up every match. So this winter it was sent off to have the load port opened up, welded lifter, throated barrel, and extended bolt release. Also this winter I have stippled the fore grip and added the cheek eez pad to the stock. Just spent an hour doing some load 2 and quad loading and it went very smooth NO CHEWED UP THUMBS!! C-Rums did a great looking job and looking forward to some warm weather to get it out on the range.
  10. Ok so I have a .223 so sure it would be short action?
  11. I am sure this is a dumb question but am am very green to bolt action rifles. I just bought a Remington 700 SPS tactical and now looking for a replacement stock/ chassis and am noticing even when I search remington 700 they have options for short or long action. Just looking for some education on this. Thanks
  12. I went to a local metal fabrication shop and had some 10" round plates and 2-2/3 size uspsa ipsc made just took him demontions. 10" round were $10 each and larger ipsc were $30 each. Then you just have to figure out how you want to mount them or set them up
  13. Welcome !! what do you currently shoot? What are you reloading with?
  14. Ok next question... does anyone know of a gunsmith or machine shop in central Ohio that will thread a barrel?
  15. Plenty of info here . If you can't find what you are looking for start your own thread. Welcome to the forums!!
  16. Well after much research and help from here I have settled on the remington 700 sps tactical. Comes with hogue over molded grip and 20" bull barrel. Should be here this weekend will get scope and bipod mounted and take to the range to zero at 100 yard's if the weather here will cooperate. Thanks for all the advise!!
  17. Thank you for your service! I thought transitions looked good reloads look good. Speed will come back with practice and trigger time.
