  1. I'll be in the Anchorage area (Wasilla) the first week of June.... Looking to shoot a match at the Palmer range on the 6th. Any tips on range conditions, indoor/outdoor, stages, round count. Any BE members in that area.???? Dan...
  2. According to the Practiscore registration page it opens on Dec 20, not Jan 1...!!! https://clubs.practiscore.com/slosa-2105-coastal-3-gun-championship/register
  3. Some clubs rake-up the hulls between shooters so your not running on top of them. So it's possible your brand of hulls would be the only ones on the ground at that time. That would prove what cycled through your gun...!! Ya, hindsight for sure, and only if the shooting area is clear of hulls to begin with...
  4. Congrats proud papa...... Wish all of you the best..!!! Dan....
  5. Pull the firing pin out and check to see if the FP spring is broke...!!! Had that happen at an ICORE Southern Reg a few years back... Mine was broke. It would bind up the FP just enough to give it random light strikes... Drove me nuts until i found it...!!!
  6. That would be great--are the dates published for the 2014 NW match in Fallon yet? Sept 27-28....
  7. I've been off the grid for a few years, and just getting a glimpse of the division change here and the so called 'issues' between the 6 vs 8..... At this point I'd say leave the classifiers alone and let it ride for a while to see what happens... But, i can tell you this, i'd pull out the 8 shot everyday of the week if i were going against 6 shooters. Mostly because of 'certain' classifiers (matches could be different).... My highest Major Match Classifier score was Area 5 in 2006 shooting 03-03 (Take em Down).. With no points down i got 94.28%... Shooting it again with an 8 shot without doing a standing reload at the rear barricade would have been a higher HF... Another that comes to mind is 03-05 Paper Poppers (comstock). Again, 8 shot advantage. If you miss a steel, it's a quick make-up shot, not so with a 6 shooter.... I'll take the added .18 split over a 2sec reload anyday.... It'll be interesting either way to see where this goes..!!!
  8. JM runs a 14 rnd tube.... It's at about 1:00 into the video where he mentions it.... Watch the rest of it and you'll see the shot exit the barrel .......
  9. Nothing good will ever come to this issue........ But, if you re-read post #111, that about sums it up.... Those are the facts..!!! Dueck knew, another HML shooter was informed and knew, and all before the shooting was finished.....Thats enough right there..!!! At this point the lights are off, party is over, doors are closed and everyone has gone home.....And unless there is a rule otherwise....The Match is closed and in the books.!! Leave it there, and let him live with it.....
  10. Do you wear a cap.??? I would leave my cap or boonie hat in my range bag when shooting a stage if i knew i would heat-up from stress on prone shots. Better for ventalation..!!!!
  11. Been using theses for years.... the ICE model. http://www.esseyepro.com/ICE_18_category.html
  12. I set up my SP01 for 3 gun.......Sold ALL of my Glocks early this year and drank the CZ cool-aid Cant say enough about CZ guns.!!!!!! SAO trigger (breaks at 2.5lbs) Comp hammer FP block/lever removed Mag well Hogue smooth/aluminum grips Steel guide rod Extended mag release
  13. Last weekend of April..... Last I heard
  14. That would be good. Might dig Jerry V out of his grave I already dangled the carrot in front of his face......He's a possibility..!!!
  15. Might be going to Richmond.......!!!
  16. I'll see if i can help...... Proper ignition only depends on the hammer fall weight, and nothing else. You need to set that first. Using a bent Q-tip to capture the hammer and release it from the trigger completely.. Photo-1: begin trigger pull Photo-2: install Q-tip and capture hammer after full trigger pull. Photo-3: hammer is captured with trigger to full rear position and hammer fully independent of trigger (free floating) Photo-4: check main/hammer spring weight with gauge. At this point, you should have about 2-lbs at the approx release point where the trigger lets go... My 625 and 627 are 100% reliable at 1-lb 12-oz. Of course, Federal primers As far as TOTAL combined weight goes, hammer and rebound, this is where you tune to your liking. I prefer a snappy/heavy rebound, so I use a stock rebound with a few coils cut off. After market parts/polishing/wear will all have an effect on actual weights. But keep in mind, that the ignition part is always on the hammer drop...That setting should never change once your 100%.....!!!! Dan...
  17. Ok, i'll put a horse in the race....!!! I voted NO.........!!!! Same shooter running both guns, with everything being equal (draw, splits, reload, points) on a 8shot x 3array stage (24rnds / 120pts, this can be a common stage at the local level). The 8 shot has an 11% advantage. The 2sec for the added reload for the six shooter tipped the scale. Granted, a Major match will pose a different out come with different skill-sets, more elaborate stage designs, strategies between shooters, but it looks as though the 8shooter will prevail. This can lead to an all-out 8shot divison....That, i dont want to see..!!!!! Remove the nuetral part (if it applies) and hit what your aiming at the first time. A make-up shot that forces an added UN-planned reload or short stroke of the trigger is the ultimate stage killer. Everyone gets there share of disasters, it's just a matter of who does it the least without sacraficing speed........That, my friends, is what makes the Revo division so sweet. Keep it as is.....!!!
  18. Actually saw the Water Co. meter-reader today........... He said they read the entire city in three days compared to a week and a half on foot.......a few jobs gone no doubt..!!!
  19. I use this set-up. It uses re-chargable AA batteries................. dan........
  20. [quote name='Carmoney' timestamp='1291263648' post='1340298' Sounds like Bob needs to complete the R&D so you bigger fellas can see better down there. This set-up works well...........Adjustable too...!!!!!!!!
  21. +1 on that..............Anything under 7# for me feels like a car with a flat tire, sluggish........ I tend to short stroke with anything less...... Pulled the 625 out for some practice last week (hadn't shot it in about a year). The trigger felt like a ton of bricks and slow. After about 1000rnds (2 days) and some dry fire it was buisness as usual. Hit a 5.26sec el prez at the end practice last Friday.........Your hand/finger strength will be your best asset..... If it will light off, light or heavy trigger, practice with what you got set up and dont change anything after that..........!!! And as Mike said....."lock down the strain screw"....!!!!!
  22. Rode my mountain bike to the gym and had a good swim workout......Decided on the way home to stop at the Luckys store and get a bottle of wine for my efforts of the day. Cycle helmet on, back pack (with gym gear), and my baseball gloves that I wear when riding in case I "bite the dust".........Step up to the self-scan-register and press'd "English" to get started.....Nothing..!!!!!..I press again....Nothing..!!!!..I say to the clerk watching the self-check out area,"whats up".???....She says "take off the glove"...I say "really"??????......"yep" the reply....off comes the thin glove, press "english".....What ya know...!!!!.. It worked. What ya suppose thats all about..????
  23. Cool vid's............I miss being in the mix..!!!!!!! I thought that Trevor guy would be faster though...!!!!!!
  24. Might of worked if he put the heads-up visor down....!!!!!!!
  25. Its not a ceramic but is good for 475 horsepower and 1000 pound feet of torque. Just got it in today so I will be busy this weekend installing it. What was the price tag on that..????????
