  1. I'm not suprised.....coming from a German guy......... Put my JP-15 through the paces this year.......Victorville, Ca (Ca 3gun series) stands out as the SCRATCH/DING match for me. Proping on some boulders to make some shots up into a rocky canyon put some character on my rifle............Wouldn't have it anyother way..!!!! Scars....need more scars.....
  2. Im getting my spotting scope out................. Lets see who can spot this thing...!!!!!!! "After sunset on Nov. 22, Edward Light, using 10 x 50 binoculars, spotted the bag in space while he scanned the sky from his backyard in Lakewood, N.J., Spaceweather.com reported. On the same night, Keven Fetter of Brockville, Ontario, video-recorded the bag as it passed by the star Eta Pisces in the constellation Pisces. The tool bag can be seen through binoculars, a few minutes ahead of the space station's orbit. The satellite tracker predicts that the bag will be visible through binoculars from Europe and western North America during a series of passes this week. By late next week, the tool bag should appear in the evening skies over most of North America. The tool bag is not the only piece of space trash from the station. Other junk includes an unmanned Russian cargo ship and a massive ammonia coolant tank the size of a refrigerator. The coolant tank was intentionally tossed from the space station in 2007, and it burned up in Earth's atmosphere earlier this month. The cargo ship undocked on Nov. 14, but will loiter in orbit for engineering tests before its planned disposal in Earth's atmosphere in early December."
  3. I'm sure most of you caught this on the news recently.........The astronaut with slippery paws.. Any NASA buff's out there got any idea what these tools/bag are made of...????? I say $ 50 at the local hardware store should cover it..!!! "The tool bag cost $100,000 and its loss meant astronauts had to share the remaining tool bag for subsequent spacewalks. The tool bag weighs about 30 pounds and is 20 inches wide, about a foot tall and a hand's-width deep, according to John Ray, STS-126 lead spacewalk officer for the flight. The bag contained two grease guns, a scraper tool, a large trash bag and a small debris bag".
  4. I use the ammo to gauge spring length.......With 8 shells in the tube, the 9th would go about half-way in before no-go (bottom out)........Seem's to be consistent (in an 1100 Rem anyway). Dan Carden
  5. We had a Shotgun match this past weekend with this same scenario. 5 steel poppers (2yds apart)centered-up at about 10yd's from a classifier-type barricade. You shot 2 runs from each side. Strong side was simple. Just squat a little to be able to lean out some.......But, weak side was tricky'r. Some shot from there weak shoulder. I elected to grab the edge of the barricade with my left fingers (i'm right-handed) and had my left thumb up (like hitch-hiking) laying the forend in the web of my hand with my thumb wedging the forend into the barricade. I really had to lean out, arching my back, to get the far right steel, which i got on the first shot both runs......Not sure if I would do it again that way. Learning to shoot from weak-side-shoulder can be a real asset in a pinch........ Dan
  6. Thats the best choice......Adjust elevation as needed for the 50yd'r. I use the Armscor 158's with N320. My gun loves this combo.... Make it happen Cuz,.... .....Thats the "make or break" stage..... DanBagger
  7. Put full tension on the main spring and see what happens.......Also, check for an over-travel pin in the rebound slide that might be preventing clearance (trigger needs to come back further) after the hammer/trigger disengage DanBagger
  8. I'm in the Major PF camp........... I can drive the gun faster when it puts out more energy.......Basically "when it gets hard...get hard with it"...!!!!! Some of my fastest splits and reloads were done with Major PF... Not that minor isn't viable....It just feels like driving a car with low tire pressure...the response is a little slower and sluggish. In competition (uspsa) anyway, you need the speed/points.....So get up high on the grip and go for a "ride"........ DanBagger
  9. We had a guy on our squad at the '07 SMMG match that had a 300 Whisper.......It puked on about 8 of 10 stages.......!!!!
  10. I'm one of the "buddies" mentioned in the first post, and did shoot TMC's rifle. I could get a few shots to group and then a flyer or two also.......I'm also confused. When Todd (TMC) chroned the loads, there were huge spreads (am i right Todd ?).....could that be a head space issue ?????...........How does that get adjusted??? Dan
  11. Hmmmmmm.......... Thats my "mug" in the middle of the page.............The one with the wood chips..!!!! Dan
  12. Norbert, during sizing, are you camming over slightly on the sizer die.....?????
  13. Butch, all the long guns were shot first.....pistols were last and down range. With Richmond having walls and not berms it was deemed safer to have an empty gun facing the walls................ But, staying on track here........ Is it faster to shoot the "chambered" round while engaging a target after dumping the mag.....or.....taking the time to operate the charge handle........(economy of motion)..????
  14. At our club level 3gun match in Richmond Ca yesterday, we were required to empty all long guns completely before grounding. Unlike the shotgun (where most or all would shoot it empty until the bolt locked back) the rifle was always cleared with the charge handle after dumping the mag. But, is it faster to dump the mag and shoot the last round while still on target (an extra hit)....vs.....what seems to be a "need to know for sure it's empty" charge handle extract method.....????? For this situation what is your choice................trigger or charge handle...???? Dan
  15. I use Win AA's super handicap (1250fps) in 7.5's and 8's for matches.....They've got brass bases and excellent crimps. I had issues with the cheap value pack stuff (Walmart-Fed's). While stuffing shells in the tube, they seemed to hang-up (????). I used the Win's at the Ironman recently without any problems (and thats with an Rem 1100). Interesting thing though: the texture of the Win AA's hull (plastic) has a better gripping feel to them then the cheap stuff. I can grab them out of the caddy and rool them in me fingers (weak hand reload) more consistantly..........Hey, whatever works !!! There about $ 7.47/box at Walmart
  16. That looks like J.Miculeks set-up.............Saw it a Barry,Ill 06'Nats....And Gator Classic
  17. If the roll pin is what's in there now, you can take a piece of your mag tube spring (I use wolff springs and there about .040) and twist it into the roll pin. Take enough to staighten-out. (about an inch and a half) Make a 90deg bend at a half inch so a pair of pliers can grab/twist the wire and feed it in there. That spring wire is some tough stuff.............Easy to find too..
  18. Whats your time worth.?? Whats Bob's time worth.?? Spend......the......money.....!!!! You wont regret it..!!!!
  19. Just a thought.......... Make sure the side plate screws are tightned down, all of them.........Then pull the hammer back far enough to get a few drops of thick oil on the sear so it can drip down on to the trigger/sear engagement surfaces and the hand-to-extractor (rachets) contact also......... There's alot of sharp edges on the working parts inside (hand, extractor star, sear etc....) that need some breaking-in Give that a try and see what happens.... DanBagger
  20. Plain o'l burps.......Or the "hurl chunks" kind. Sounds like my kinda place either way.....
  21. +1 Being mostly a Revo shooter, I have to work at finding that "sweet spot" hand/grip position until it becomes muscle memory again when shooting autos......Using Pro Grip or any other texture product restricts my ability to recall those pressure areas. Interestingly...I'll have specific forearm muscles that will be slightly sore after a few practice's re-establishing grip technique Dan
  22. The mystique of loading a "big" cartridge like a .50 cal (from the belt) one-at-time has a flavor all to itself...... Kinda like "one shot, one kill". Cause thats probably all you'll need....... Forget the moonclips DanBagger
