  1. Just found out this existed yesterday, really nice design, probably get one of these or the ghost hanger for the next holster set up I put together. But I can’t see a better option than the springer precision/RHT single stack hanger for a dedicated set up single stack holster.
  2. Would have been better for USPSA to go the ipsc path rather than how it is now. Pretty much spending the same amount as you would on a limited gun to run in CO.
  3. This is what I would do if I was going to get serious about CO. But for a good out of the box option I love the P320 X5 with the Romeo 1
  4. True, however the most telling portion is that he finished is that he finished 9th overall including limited shooters with a pretty decent handicap shooting minor and only 10 round mags.
  5. And to add insult to injury I’m fairly certain he was running his production gun, no magwell just a tanfo stock 2
  6. To throw another wrench into this, check Casey Reed pulling 9th overall for limited/L10/revo nationals shooting minor. This definitely speaks to it being the Indian not the arrow
  7. Probably around the same time of year too? Last year was mid July
  8. Any word on when or where this is supposed to be happening?
  9. Why wouldn’t it be production legal?
  10. I’m definitely a one mag guy, if I had a reliable 15-22 mag that fit 30+ I would do that as well. Changing mags breaks my concentration and if I need a minute to refocus I can just bring the gun down and take a breath. The thing that irritates me on the RO cadence is when then don’t maintain the same commands throughout the match or stage, some like to just say ‘standby’ then beep.
  11. I want one so bad, I’ve said it before, I’d forgo an SVI to get my hands on one of these! Especially the open convertible version.
  12. 1911! My first handgun was a STI ranger 2 in 45 and while I loved it, it was not working for me for competition so I sold it and went polymer for a couple years. Last year I bought a STI hex tac SS in 9 and fell in love with single stack again. Slightly heavier gun than my 2011 and shoots awesome. I would go 1911 all day everyday especially for SC, no reloads on the clock and a heavier frame that helps with tracking and sight return make it an awesome choice. That said, I can see the appeal of a 2011 simply because the grip is a little meatier for those of us with bigger mitts, although the newer wide 1911 grips Techwell and vz put out make up for that.
  13. That seems odd to me that there would be such a big difference in open and limited major power factors. Do you happen to know the reason for that? And to steer back to the conversation, is it better to drive or fly to the competition as in fly somewhere in the states and drive up or just fly international?
  14. Got some info on the difference of a butler cut vs a stirrup cut. The two pictures I posted earlier are both stirrup cuts just different styles one with a short radius and one with a long radius and a butler cut is having a longer fram that is almost the same length of the slide just has a slight cut back to make it not full length. I’m lther words a butler cut on a 5” gun would make the dust cover over the classic legal 75mm and therefore not be allowed in the division.
  15. The reason I ask is that I sent in a build for SVI and when I talked with the tech he said the butler cut was not IPSC legal, which I can’t find anything to support that other than it’s not a traditional stirrup cut.
  16. Top one is the standard stirrup cut and the bottom pic with 2 guns have the butler cut. It’s just a more squared to the slide cut in front of the dust cover
  17. I am wanting to get a pistol built that will comply with classic division and single stack. My question is, are butler-style cuts on the slide considered stirrup cuts per the rules? Does anyone know where I can get official confirmation on this? Thanks!
  18. Damn! Sounds like you got a lemon, There are 5 of us running the mpx here, all in the 5k to 16k round count range, and the first issue someone had was breaking a trigger after 14k and the company replaced the trigger for free. I suppose we had another problem with a leading issue from one guy running bare lead Bullets and it gummed up his gas system pretty bad. Came back to life after he cleaned it out though.
  19. Similar experience here, had my blowback gun fully decked out and loaded super soft with 135 gr black Bullets, then shot a MPX back to back using herters 115 gr that made 153 PF and the MPX with damn near major PF Ammo was softer and faster recovering than my baby loaded ar9. In fact I posted 2 personal records in steel challenge using the MPX that I was shooting for the first time that day.
  20. Also, 2 other PCC shooters up here did close to the same thing. They bought the JP, then shot an MPX and proceeded to buy an MPX as well.
  21. This seems to be a common argument, and it all comes down to a lot of opinions and anecdotal evidence. Patterns emerge over a long enough sample size and with that said the pattern seems to be: -JP is a go getter right out of the box, if you don’t want/need/like to modify guns and just have them be reliable this is the route to go. -MPX has what most people consider to be 2 mandatory upgrades (trigger and stock, charging handle is debatable), however, it is pretty well agreed by the majority of shooters that have shot or owned both that the MPX is the softer/flatter option with very little dicking around with finding the “perfectly tuned load” and buffer set up. There have been complaints about reliability and some are probably user induced others are possibly the gun/gas system design. My experience is that I spent close to $2500 doing the full meal deal on a blowback gun with qc10 bones and all the go-fast cool guy upgraded parts then shot a MPX and proceeded to spend close to $3000 to get that fully set up with all the go-fast cool guy upgrades. If I were to do it again I’d skip the blowback gun and just go straight to the MPX and be much happier about my PCC life.
  22. How do you clean the tappet rings? I tried solvent, soaking and a SS wire brush. I finally pulled my pistol/gasblock apart after about 5k of mostly black Bullets using cfe pistol and I had some build up on those rings but most everything else looked good and I was able to clean up without issue.
  23. I’d also be interested in a guide, classic/ss is legal just about everywhere
  24. We are in the process now of getting the range time approved by the board it’s tentatively set now for July 25-28. 25th will be staff shoot then 26,26 and 28 will be available for all competitors. We are looking to have 10-12 stages and it’ll be single day format. We’ll be sure to make an official announcement once we have the dates approved.
