  1. for uspsa major power factor, there is no reason to shoot anything slower than Win 231.. clays is cleaner than n320...320 doesnt burn completely at the low pressures needed for uspsa major. if you just want to waste money, n310 is cleaner than n320 but doesnt do any better than clays...anywhere. i use WST because it doesnt smoke as bad with lead bullets. Clays is my choice for jacketed or plated bullets however.
  2. your trigger spring is broken
  3. the date is wrong on the camera. this project was completed today
  4. if anyone has ever searched for a decent glock 21/20 magazine well you know why i did this. i cut down a seatle slug and drilled and tapped a hole for the magwell to attach i then cut the Dawson Ice Magwell to fit the glock's larger frame then some light dremel work to clean up the transition and bam.... a real FAST magwell for these big frame guns...plus it adds about 5 oz.

    A Happy Glock!

just a FYI thats not a very good open gun and that mag catch will get you scored in open at a large match...the smiley's look cool though
  6. are you shooting jacketed, plated or lead bullets?
  7. how is that timberwolf holding up?
  8. a glock wont take 1.160 length in a 40, 1.140 is about it i run 1.125-1.135 i would limit glock rounds to 200 grains at exactly 1.135 or slightly longer if you can get your 140mm magazines to feed.
  9. check the brass. i had a lot of brass that had been cleaned in a rotary cleaner rather than a vibratory cleaner and it had a burr on the inside of the bras that caused the coating to scrape off. ive never shot the solo powder but WST seems to be the answer for lead/moly bullets. i have been shooting it for years and it is great.
  10. i would buy an aftermarket barrel for everything but jacketed or plated bullets. of the powders mentioned. all three can get you into hot water with an inexperienced reloader loading to major in a glock. of the three, i would start with TG and 180 FMJ. like 4.3 grains. at 1.135 oal MAX dont load them any longer. they will not feed 100 percent get you an aftermarket barrel and some WST. it is better with lead and moly bullets than TG.

    is that for limited minor?
  12. As much slide energy the older G22s had i find it hard to believe they had any trouble with reliability. the slide energy alone is enough to move a parked cadillac..
  13. WST..low smoke with lead. i had to load those bullets (the bear creek 140s) to 1.050 oal with the 40 caliber to get them to chamber in my KKM glock barrel. with those i shot them over my jacketed bullet major powder charge, 4.3 grains Titegroup. it really didnt smoke much but was pretty dirty. with plain lead i would shoot WST at 4.5 grains and about 1000 fps.
  14. you need to make sure you take the backlash in the charge bar out by opening it up past the desired charge weight, then adjusting the volume of the charge bar down to your desired charge weight. this will take out the backlash in the threads. if you do not do this, the bar will just "float" back and forth in the slack that is in the threads. the floating bar would cause varying volume thus varying charge weight. it should throw powder charges within 1/10 a grain.

    glock modded

knock those crappy factory sights off into the nearest trash can, take out the extended slide release and replace with a regular one (unless you enjoy surprises!) shoot 10000 rounds out of it then decide what parts need to be changed
  16. you wont notice an appreciable difference in your match scores shooting 125.000 pf ammo than 140-145 pf. i know the rules say you only need 125 power factor, but if you have a heavy set steel and its shot with winchester white box out of a glock 34, 125 pf may not take it down and the 140+ powerfactor winchesters will do it nearly every time. this will result in a miss on steel. in any event to answer the original question, 4.5 grains should make the minor power factor with 124/125 grain bullets, and if it seems to be reliable, load them up and go shooting. I would not stress too much about going lower.. 147 grain bullets may be the answer for lower recoil without cutting the power levels down.
  17. at shooting matches, dont fear the guy with the shiny new gun, fear the man with the worn out rusty pistol...for he has the experience to win..
  18. ever wonder why companies make roll crimp dies for auto pistol calibers only to tell you never to use them? maybe they don't really know what they are doing...
  19. it isnt the lube that smokes, its the burning lead on the bullet. shoot some of the lasercast gas checked bullets and even with titegroup you get almost no smoke. some of the smoke is generated by the lube and about 90 percent of it is the burning lead. this can be proved by shooting bullets without any lube at all. they still smoke. some of the low-smoke powders ive found seem to have a cooler burn. WST and AA7 being two notable powders. you want low smoke loads in the minor 40 caliber? 3.5 grains WST at 1.200 oal with that bullet.
  20. the trick with moly coated bullets is to flare the case enough that you dont shave the coating off the bullet while loading. enough flare and the least amount of crimp necessary and youll shoot good.
  21. 231 was more accurate than N320 and Titegroup in my guns..the recoil impulse felt good(between the push of N320 and the snap of TG) and 231 is cheap and easy to get. i am shooting WST for now as it performs great with lead bullets. but since I have figured out how to make the moly coat bullets myself, i will probably return to 231 for Major 40, Clays for minor 40 and all 45 auto.

    Ka-Boom

AA5 seems to be present in a LOT of KB's...i dont know why but it just seems to be there when they happen.
  23. WST. Low smoke, low recoil with lead bullets. its as soft as clays and doesnt smoke nearly as much.
