Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Hello, I looked all around for a link to the admins and couldn't find one so I figured I would put it here and ask and also say feel free to move it to the correct topic area, if necessary. I just would like to change my current user name to a different user name but would like to keep all the history of posts and time and well, just all the history that this site keeps. If it is possible I would like to know how. If it is not possible then that information would also be useful. I also apologize if I didn't put this in the correct topic. Thanks, Lumpy McSoo.
  2. Everyone, Thanks for the replies. Between the great customer support that Saul has personally given and the responses here, especially the latest batch of pictures, thanks for those pics, they helped probably the best of all the "tech support". I will hopefully get back to trying to put everything back on the DAA belt with the new Race Master Mag Pouches for my Glock 34 mags...really, I have to sand them down...? Seriously, Glock mags aren't the standard...slightly LOL bur I am biased... Well, the VA/MD Sectional is in two weeks so everything needs to be up to spec or else I fail back to last years gear... I will survive but I do appreciate all of the help, on this post and others, from this great web site blog site. Later, Lumpy.
  3. Hello again, I just saw another e-mail from DAA and Saul but was on my way to sleep for my crazy work shifts. Kudos to DAA. I am impressed with their customer service. Sorry I don't have time and may not for a day or two with work schedule to reply. So far, other than my inability to log the disassembly, everything has been fine. The funny part is if you give me a box full of parts I probably will put it together in many different ways, but probably not the same way twice....engineer with tools and parts...be careful! Thanks again, Later, Lumpy McSoo. (and thanks to Saul for getting back to me and my questions, with the time change, before I even put this on BE Forums). I really like the DAA customer service. Time for some sleep before my off hours shift starts up again. Later.
  4. Hello, I recently purchased a DAA Production Division Race (PDR) holster for USPSA Production and perhaps trying it with the IDPA belt attachment for IDPA as well if I really like it for USPSA. Well, I took it apart to clean it and wax it with Renaissance Wax and was being all careful with all of the screws and washers and one spring. Then I got busy at work and tossed all the parts, along with the extra parts, in the bag the holster was shipped in. So now I have a bit of a puzzle of how to put all the pieces of the USPSA/IPSC drop and offset holster back together. I have tried it several ways and they all work and hold the gun securely but allow a fast draw but they all can not be correct...or at least to the factory original design. Can anyone help me get this back together? I e-mailed Saul and asked if he had a video on it and he very politely said that he doesn't but offered to send Hi-Def pics which I haven't recieved yet but Saul has been very good and patient with my questions. Very good customer service at DAA so far...but my holster still is taken apart into every single piece and part and screw and washer and I just don't remember how it goes back together...LOL...yes, I already thought of ordering a second and videotaping its dissassembly and reassembly so when my toddler son shoots in 10 years he can use the other one...LOL Is anyone out there a DAA PDR holster assembly expert? Here are my unanswered questions up to this point in time. Also, I am using this for my G22 and G34, has anyone had any issues with the front sight of the G34 catching on the lip of the holster body? Here are some of the questions I e-mailed back to DAA after their first response of there is no video of the PDR holster reassembly... 1.) I guess the first part I think I know. Where the holster body gets mounted onto the 3 screw attachment, there are three washers that I put between the hoster and the two upper holes and one of the three lower holes (for cant or straight up) and then attach with the three shortest screws. Then slide belt attachment down on the dovetail and put in two more similar screws and secure the drop level. Is that correct? Do the washers go between the holster body and the mount? 2.) I have a spring for perhaps the retention screw? I can't figure out where the spring goes. 3.) I have two pieces of rubber tubing. I assume they go between the "lips" of the holster as in the pictures. One of the pieces of tubing is slightly larger than the other. Which one goes under the thumb adjust screw, the bigger one or smaller one or the spring from above? Well, I sort of figured it out but have pieces left over. I have assembled it in various working condtions all with various pieces left over. Thanks for any help that you may be able to give. Thanks again, Lumpy McSoo.
  5. Hmmm, I have a Gen 4 G35 with number RAExxx and have had no issues with it with either major rounds with the stock recoil spring or minor (for production and IDPA) with a Jager Gen 4 Polymer with a 13 lb spring for my 131 PF loads. I guess I'll call Glock tomorrow but they won't be getting my slide any time soon since I will be shooting a local USPSA match this weekend and then the PA State Steel Challenge the following weekend. I guess it'll have to wait until then. Whatever will be will be. Just have to sell off the last few of my Gen 3s and I'll be set with all new Gen 4s...love them with the largest backstrap...finally fit my hand. Later, Lumpy.
  6. Hello, I have done the search and found a wide range of data. I was loading between 3.0 grs and 3.3 grs of "regular" Clays for my MINOR load out of my G22 or G35. My Gen 3s have Storm Lake or Bar-Sto barrels but my now used Gen4s have the factory barrel and I don't see a need to swap them out yet (unless BBI 180s at major is a bad idea...let me know). For this post, let me get back on topic. I ran out of Clays. I have a state level match in a few weeks. I was able to get a 1 pounder of Vihtavuori N320 but found a powder drop range of 3.2 grs up to 4.5 grs for MINOR. The 3.2 was lead and the 4.5 must have been a really slow barrel or something. I was guessing from my over-ingestion of the search engine that 3.7-4.0 grs would work fine and be at 135-150 PF, which is just fine. I do not have time to chrono and don't want to go buy another powder. Here is what I was going to load. Mixed brass Rainier FP 180 gr (also have some Black Bullet International 180s, but keep the Rainiers for minor, easy to tell buy looking at them. If it has lead black lead exposed, it is major.) Winchester SP primer 3.8 grs VV N320 1.130ish (1.130-1.135) COL 0.420ish crimp (0.419-0.421, mixed brass causes a variance) So the question is would 3.8 grs of VV N320 and a Rainier 180 gr FP at the COL and crimp above gurantee me at least 125 PF out of a G22 Gen4 or G35 Gen4 stock barrel? I think it would but would just like to post this out there for the "experts" to chime in on. On a side note, anyone load VV N340 with BBI 180s for Major? Later, Thanks, Lumpy.
  7. Well, Glockmeister seems to have them for $648 plus whatever else comes to your transfer... GLOCK 35 Generation 4 Item G35GEN4 Price: $648.00 Good luck. I guess the GSSF rate of $507 + $35 for GSSF annual + $15 shipping is pretty good, unless you are a saint and also pay the state sales tax. They are out there but if you are non-LEO, the best thing to do is join GSSF and get your one discount pistol per year, at least for this year's rules... Later, Lumpy.
  8. The G22 was actually the very first Gen-4 Glock - and I say that as someone whose review of the Gen-4 Glock 22 is currently the cover article in the latest issue of Gun World. Duane, I would like to get a copy of your article. How is the best way to do that if it was a past issue? Any suggestions? Thanks, Lumpy.
  9. I am happy to hear you are not confused about prices. I will be able to sleep much better now knowing that. And happy holidays...What I paid is much less than what they would retail for in my area, probably by about at least $100 if not more. Now I normally don't buy retail but I know people that still do. To each there own... Cheers and happy new year! Later, Lumpy
  10. Yes, I posted the pictures about the G35 Gen 3 and G35 Gen 4 finally. I have two Gen4s, a G22 and a G35. They have not had a malfunction for me. One of my co-workers had a failure to feed in the G22 with factory ammo but I am convinced it was user error. He is an H&K and class three guy who normally laughs at my Glocks, until he went out and bought a G20 SF? Go figure. My Gen4 G22 works with all of my Gen 3 G17/G22 holsters. For me, I have had no malfunctions in either the G22 or G35 both with minor and major reloads and major factory FMJs and major factory self defense rounds of Federal 180 gr HSTs. My minor rounds always functioned but sometimes the ejected brass would land on the slide. Made me laugh during a steel plate match. My minor round was 3.0 gr Clays with Rainier 180 gr loaded to COL of about 1.125-1.130 I just upped it to 3.2 gr Clays with same and it still is very soft but actually tosses the brass a little further. I have about 300 minor and 700 major and 100+ HST through the G22. Not huge numbers, but I was surprised to have the minor loads work flawlessly. I have about 300 minor and 1000 major through the G35 with no failures of any type. I have no exposure to the 9mm Gen4s. Later, Lumpy.
  11. Here is the first picture of what I was talking about... If you can see it, great. If not, well, then start shooting shotguns!
  12. JBP55, Well, since no one has it in the retail stores yet. I bet when they do it will be $600+ so most people that are not GSSF or not LEO should expect to pay about in the $650+ range. Much more than what I paid with the GSSF membership. This was a G35 not a G22 which would have been $425 + $15... Maybe you had your facts confused or perhaps I am misunderstanding your comments.... One picture next...rest to follow... Later, Lumpy.
  13. Pictures coming soon, once I find the camera. You could also just look at the difference in the front of a Gen 3 17 or 22 and the Gen 4 17 or 22. Either go to your safe and get Gen 3 and Gen 4 (or your local gun shop) and look at the front where the recoil spring sits. It is much bigger on my Gen 4 G22, and this shape is extended on the G35 Gen 4. Once you look at a Gen 3 and Gen 4 G22 (or whatever) you can see the difference. Then go grab your Gen 3 G17 and G34 and look at how where the recoil rod part is extrapolated out beyond the dust cover on the G34 slide. This same extrapolation was done on the Gen 4s but due to the larger recoil spring, the overall diameter of the bottom of the slide is a much larger diameter. It may work in some holsters but it may not. Gotta go look for the camera. The G35 Gen 4 GSSF price for me (non-LEO but GSSF member) from Ed's was $507 + $15 for shipping then had to pay fee to Virginia FFL which varies depending on the FFL store. This is also the price the GSSF website said it would be. Anything cheaper must be a LEO only price. Later, Lumpy.
  14. Hello, I didn't know whether to put this in holsters or in the Glock section. Personally, I think it should be in both. I just got a new G35 Gen4 and love it with the largest backstrap. I had been using my G22 Gen4 in my two kydex G17/22 and G34/35 holsters. THe Gen4 G22 had no issues with holsters. The G35 Gen4 that I got from Ed's Public Safety with my GSSF membership felt great. I then decided to test the holster and lo and behold, it wouldn't go in one at all while retaining the pistol and it would work in the other since it had upper and lower tension screws. I will post some pictures but just beware that here are the measurements of the width of the semi circle on the bottom part of the front of the slide, the part that has the hole in it to access the front sight screw. Glock G35 Gen4 0.710 inch semi circle width Glock G35 Gen3 0.555 inch semi circle width Glock G34 Gen3 0.560 inch semi circle width If you have a really tight holster for your Gen3 G34/35, it may or may not work with your new (whenever you get one) G34/35 Gen4 pistol. I just figured I should put this information out there. In the next few days, I'll try and post some pictures. Later, Lumpy McSoo.
