  1. I think you will be happy with it. Lighten the slide and get an aftec extractor. ..
  2. Back to the original question. Where are they? why don't they answer emails? Are they behind or caught up?
  3. true fact. I was told the same thing by a former world champion about three weeks ago.
  4. 8 grains of autocomp.. That's a violent load...
  5. ask and ye shall receive. I really appreciate all the feed back on my question. Practice makes perfect right?
  6. ok senator, which gun do you score better with the maj or sc? you bring up a good point, the cost of sc brass means a lot of guys are shooting 9maj, which also means, I really am that bad... thanks man
  7. This is a honest question. Would a person at any given skill level shoot better with sc over 9 maj? I have been shooting open for about two years and have improved when I practice. I have two young kids so I can't put as much time into it as it would take to get as good as I would like to be. Although I have shot a sc, it's been a long time and I didn't think that it shot any better than my 9major open gun. I'm thinking of going to limited just to remove that one, unknown. To me it's not worth the extra cost but, I would like other opinions. I you are die hard in one direction or the other, that won't help. I want to hear from sc guys who were surprised at how 9major guns shot, or 9 major guys who say, wow, I never knew sc was so much better... send it Ps,, I don't wanna hear about how this subject was beaten to death ten years ago... new shooters, techniques and opinions have come about in the past ten years..
  8. NO, you should send it to me. you don't want that.. where the heck di you find clays?
  9. You will never get enough of either one in a pistol case to even come close to making major! Mike yeah, but I bet I would be real soft
  10. yeah, it's pretty flat until you take it to a match..
  11. Man, I feel your pain. Rob leatham has a great vid on youtube, that helped me with the same problem. you'll find it. after about a year of shooting, I says to myself, I'll just use my physical abilities and burn through stages... NOT! lately, I have decided to just take my time and don't shoot so fast that I can't make all A's....My goal for now is not time. I wan't to have all A's. I'm not sure how this will work, but a slow A has got to be better than a real fast M or even a D. I have also made it a point practice everything that I have absolute control over, reloading, drawing and moving.... We shall see good luck
  12. Myself I found a local gunbuilder that sells reloading supplies. He's got a good relationship with his distributors. At first it was you couldn't get primers, but now primers are available everywhere. Now the problem is powder. My guy told me he was talking to his distributor the other day. He's been in the business for over 40yrs and has never seen it so bad. He says it looks like it's going to get worse. Just4FunLP - do you ever make it down to the Tampa Bay area? I can ask what he's got. I don't think he has any Titegroup any more cuz last time I saw him about 3 weeks ago a buddy and me bought his last 2 8lb jugs of TG. I do have a couple of 1lb jars of TG. To help a fellow floridian, I can let you have one of them if you ever are in the area. I think I found out why. I was told by a family friend who works in"northern Va", that the UN ban on imports may be a huge part of the problem. Many of the powders we use come from Europe, VV, a lot of ramshot, ( I like silhouette) and many others marketed by American companies are actually made in other countries. The ban drastically cut the amount allowed into the U.S. I'm not sure this is true, but I wouldn't put it past the people running this country.
  13. great instruction...I will be doing this drill
  14. I usually get powder at the gun shows too, the only problem is, I keep forgetting to wash the stamp off my hand, now my wife knows where i'm going when I say: I'm going to pick uo "parts" ...
  15. you will go back and forth on what powder/bullet combo you like best... basics of open are lots of slow burning powder and light bullet, however, aet barrels, as I understand are most accurate with 124gr bullets. powders are so advanced now. 10+ grns of 3n38 and a 124 seem to be they way to go, from what I hear. I shoot 9major not sc..
  16. Brad just north of you in nc... gun show in Fayetteville next week maybe i'll try there
  17. I'm down to about 4 pounds of my primary powder, (autocomp) and shooting season is here. Anyone heard anything? when is the powder supply going to be replenished. Sill, hs6, titegroup, anything.....?
  18. Sill is my favorite 9 maj powder too esp on A 115..
  19. Saying they are the best bullet out there can be debated, my concern is the color, It reminds me of a toy bullet for a toy gun when I was a child. best coated bullets I have used.. I should have been clear. I know it's the only coated bullet that I have found, that will standup to open gun velocity. The guy who started this thread already has a reputation for crying about stupid things.
  20. I have been using 170's cut to size for two years with no problems. cut to fit, then trim and grind and grind some more. until it fits..
  21. I shoot them in a open gun at 1400 fps. no problem at all. you're crimping too tight. I have picked up chunks of lead while resetting steel and they still have the coating on them. hands down, the best coated bullet out there.
