  1. The most important thing, is not having to think about what the most important thing is.... asso!
  2. I believe BJ Norris's open gun finally died at 250k rounds. I have no clue what failed on it.
  3. it's a step closer, though just 4 calibers in two models. given the choices, I would say with confidence that these new guns will sell to guys considering sv. will it put them out of business? No!
  4. Pretty dramatic change for sti. maybe looking to take some business from sv with these guns.. you were thinking it too! they look awesome. the sides lightning is very cool
  5. most of the guys you will be competing against are shootin 9 major. I can't tell the difference
  6. Anyone tried a seeall sight on a open gun? I think I'm going to give it a shot.
  7. after shooting all of them through a open gun, I use the blue bullets, they smoke less. I think they are all accurate, the blue coating s just a little better in my opinion, and you cant beat the price.
  8. The heavier spring absorbs the recoil of the major load. and yes, you make the right choice. My trubor runs like a sewing machine. maybe add a aftec extractor.
  9. I bet it goes higher. too rare for it not to
  10. I clicked on the red x 4 times trying to close the second pic.. LOL.
  11. Joe, I was worried about reloading 9mm major when I got started - but, thanks to BE and all the help I got here, I don't worry about it any more - I've loaded as hot as 178 PF without a problem, and I've talked to people who have loaded 9mm major to close to 200.. And, as Kraj mentioned, the only extra expense is a little more powder. And, as Eku mentioned, how many divisions can we have (just in revolver we could have minor and major, open and not open, 6 shot and 7 shot and 8 shot (and soon, 9 or 10 shot, I suppose). Not much reason to create another Division - but feel free to shoot OPEN Minor - not a big deal. Iv'e been reloading major for several years myself. the point is. I would rather shoot 9mm but 9major can't compete with 38 super. It just can't. take all the 9mmopen guns and compete against each other. you don't race a stock car and a legends car.
  12. What if there was a separate and new division/class for open minor? Yes, I know we can already shoot open minor, but, what if there were a division that were treated like production division? (minus the ten round limit) I know the 38 super guys won't like the idea, but I would love it. I just want to shoot and have fun with my open gun without the worry and expense of making major. The reason for bringing this up, is that I put my Trojan top end on my open gun and ran some minor rounds through it. holy cow was it fun to shoot!!! Would you shoot in a exclusively open minor division?? GO!
  13. Not even close to the same. The base is totally different. Blue bullets coating is proprietary. When I say base, I am talking about the chemistry.
  14. I have said this before, but here I go again. I shoot them in a open gun, at 1400 fps. I was sold on them when resetting steel, I found flattened bullets with the blue coating still on the bullet. Not just some.. The outside of the bullet ( what was left of it), still had the coating on it.
  15. I run lee dies in a 650. I didn't like the "bell" on the Dillon dies.
  16. 7.6 grains of wac with a 125 blue bullet. 169 pf all day long. don't be afraid of coated bullets, they work fine. you need to clean the comp no matter what you shoot. It's a wall that stops everything except the bullet.
