  1. Clark, i think thats a problem for all plated bullets when driven (to) hard. The only problem i have with Berry's is the price. It's to high (i can get better for less overhere) DVC Adrie

    G35 spring question

I agree with all what hes been told on the gunspring forum http://www.brianenos.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard//topic.cgi?forum=28&topic=72 Fieldstripped my G35 today and found my 17 lbs ISMI spring was broken.... Longest piece can now be used as 13 lbs i guess..... Installed a new 15 lbs i had in stock and will return the pieces of the broken spring to ISMI so they can examine it. (Think i shot some 12000 rounds with this spring) DVC Adrie
  3. Hi Spook, i remember you told me you bought a second S&W 625. Don'know when you are gonna pick it up at the store but when you do. First wait and see if your problem also occurs with this revolver. If not, your problems could be due to the condition of your current chambers. Anyway, see you monday at the range DVC Adrie

    G35 spring question

I use the same guiderod with a ISMI 17 lbs spring in G35 also used it with a 15 lbs, never had problems with this combinations. THS, you haven't tried other springs yet? Maybe shooting buddys that can provide you with it if you don't have? DVC Adrie
  5. Asked (couple of months ago) for Brian's advice wich Slide Glide to use for my gun and my region (G35, the Netherlands) I 'am sorry i ordered some weeks back the #3, should have don that earlier! Works great. Just like Chris Patty says. I also used it on the connector. If #1 works even better on the connector i should try that also. Great stuff Brian DVC Adrie
  6. Well David, when i did touch/handle the gun Cees should have give me a DQ at the match in Tilburg so i can only say i could have touched the gun..... And yes Glocks rulez ! also in the Netherlands DVC Adrie
  7. Something similar as described before happened to me this year during a qualifiermatch I'wasn't given a DQ btw. Starting position an this stage was sitting in chair behind a table . Gun condition 3 on the table. During the "walkthrough" i posted myself on the chair. By doing that i unlocked my ghostholster, noticed that by the "click" i heart and locked it again but not with the gun in the correct position While standing up from the chair the gun tumbled forward, but because i was standing behind it the gun bumped on the table. In a reflex i tried to catch it (and maybe touched it) but knewing it couldn't fall hard and a DQ in mind i stopped al motion and asked the RO to get my gun. Stopping your gun from falling to the ground or somewhere else and succeeding in that is gunhandling....... But it's hard not to do...... Adrie
  8. Erik, this phenomenom with the magazines is pretty familiar to me. I am shooting standard division IPSC with a Glock 35. Coincidence? Whit me also it always happens after 4 -6 rounds can't figure out if it's the spring or the follower or both that's stuck. Beginning of this year i started with new highcap glock .40 magazine tubes, different brand of followers, different brand of (stronger than standard) springs and +2 magazine extensions from B-E Jonsson I only used new combinations in training When in a combination the mentioned malfunction showed i replaced or the spring or the follower. As i told can't really tell what was the reason but i do know that the replaced spring and follower would malfunction in an other tube also. This way i made 3 extended troublefree mags (standard 15 round mags never give trouble) At the moment i prepared 4 combinations again and want to have them trouble free for the new year. But rather than changing the combination i would want to work on the component to make a combination work.
  9. I think it's a sign of becoming an adult that "The young person involved who is in a hurry to be a great shooter and to be posted as a Man of Knowledge" has not responded in this post yet. Greetings from the Netherlands Adrie
  10. Indeed i little typo Ron http://www.doublealpha.biz/ sites is not ready yet but working though DVC Adrie

    Glocks-why?

Why Glock's? Why not. This weekend we shot a qualifier in your region. Guess what, the only 2 competing G35 shooters won 2 stages. 1 speedshoot 1 fieldcourse (with popper and 2 targets to be shot at 50 yards) Maybe this post should be moved to "bragging rights" forum because i won the speedshoot and my buddy the fieldcourse. And yes we were proud DVC Adrie
  14. At 5 yards the draw for an A i can do around .8 but never did a reload after the shot at this distance. Best reload at 12 yards 7" steelplate 1.15 Normal reload at papertargets about same time. Will work on me reload and try to get it under 1 second Think i can make this drill in 2 sec. Will try it next weeks Adrie
  15. "Brians Shooting Forums" same reason as George D
  16. Just give my vote and te score was 57% no (3434) 39% yes (2353)

    10 yd Bill Drill

Because in an upcoming qualifiermatch one of the stages will be : T1 at 8 yards, gun in ready condition holstered 6 rounds on T1, virginia count i tried it yesterday at the range 2.17 sec/ 27 pt 2.07 sec/ 26 pt 2.37 sec/ 26 pt First shot consistent between 1.12 / 1.15 After these 3 runs i thought to be smart and put only 6 rounds in the mag so i didn't have to count the rounds fired and just could empty the mag as quick as possible. Well that didn't work . Because i didn't count i stopped after the 5th round and made a .82 split for the 6th. I also missed the weight of the additional 13 pieces .40 rounds in my glockmag also so guncontrolwas also poor. Adrie
  18. I removed the plastic, only a small layer , enough to let the magazine fall free when pushing the mag release. Between the magcatch and top of the magazine were the problems with my magazines. I could see the friction places on the mags, and the inside of the grip. Also removed a little at the inside of the grip. Greetings Adrie I do have a magwell wich gave no problems and doesn't make a difference when placed or not. My friends G35 has also a magwell and he did have problems at first with "interference fit".
  19. The problem with the plastic at the top of mags bending out is a familiar problem for me. Just returned the mags for new ones. For me the problem with sticking mags also comes from the very narrow place for te magazins in my grip. My friends 35 can use all of my 18 high cap mags without any problem. In my gun 5 pieces can only get to work well with removing plastic at the places where the mags touch the inside of the grip. (yes high cap mags are cheap over here, 15,00 euro = $15,00)

    Turn and draw

Last months we give the El Prez a more important place (again) i your training routine. Looks i do the El Prez turn in the same way as smoney Got my fasted draw in 1.22 but consistent 1.45 Thats for me 0.10 slower than consistent normal draw at 10 yards. (glock35 from ghostholster)

    Glocks-why?

I am with EricW, The first year i shot IPSC (standard division) i used the model 34. This (second) year i started with the model 35 and once i got used to the change i caliber got some good results. Here in the netherlands i know some good shooters that started with the glock. It's not likely that the glock win Open ever but in Standard Division, why not! Adrie
  22. Personally i use the 3N37 for 9mm. But my buddy Spook at this forum uses N320 with very good results. by the way, Peter K, will you also shoot at the IronHands Level III match. Myself and 2 friends will be shooting on friday because we will also shoot the NRWtrophy in Dusseldorf saturday
  23. It would be very hard to make 9 mm reloads that were not cheaper than .45 reloads. But just about what gun to buy.... See Vince Pinto's post at the Glock Forum. Join the club and buy a G17 or G34 Greetings Adrie
  24. Something i noticed few months ago. The powdercharge for my .40 ammo was 6.5 grain 3N37. I worked up this load because i already used the 3N37 for my 9 mm. Several shooters gave me the advice to try N340. I tried some different charges and found 5.5 grain to shoot nice and it gives me a pf 176. For the first charges with N340 i filled the cases with a powdertrickle. For some good testing i had to make a larger amount on the Dillon SD. When i filled the powdermeasure wich was set for 6.5 grain 3N37 i didn't had to adjust it, it just dropped 5.5 grain N340, and still does. That makes live easy! What a coincidence or had they forsee this at Dillon?

    Fast Draws

I am not the fastest for sure and a moderate shooter in the netherlands. The fastest draws i could make thusfare are 1.10 for 15 yards targets 1.22 for El Presidente 0.85 for 7 yards targets Overhere there are also STORYS about people you never see at the range, never heart of there names before but from hear say they should be the best. I always say, seeing is believing and mostly the best shooters you'll find on top of the list.
