  1. I think i know how you feel right now. Last week i received my ( well it's my second) G35 but i had to leave it at my gunsmith for several things like melting in a low profile Bomarsight etc. Can't weight to get it back Good luck and have fun with the Executive Julien Adrie
  2. That is a big surprise Jim! I have plenty 9 mm followers but never thought about trying them in my (original glock) .40 mags. There are some .40 mags that give me trouble, maybe it will work . Adrie
  3. Spook i witnessed you several times hitting the A zone six-times from the holster in less then 3 seconds. You know it is the first standard exercise when we start your training exercises. With 3 shooters on the line you are never the one with the last shot even when you shoot together with the open gun boys. But you are the one that mostly shoot A's. But don't start thinking, keep shooting! Adrie
  4. Spook, it would be nice to see you there. I am curious to see your skills with the revo in a level III match. Maybe it is a good idea to travel together. I will ask for us to be squaded together and give you a ring. Greetings Adrie
  5. Case no.1: a shooter, shooting at a popper at the safe distance of 12 metres, was injured by a ricochet. A lead shaving from his shot ripped through the upper part of his nose, causin him severe bleeding. The shooter was wearing normal corrective glasses, and that part was not safely covered; had he worn shooting glasses probably the whole accident wouldn't have happened. When the shooter was done his emergency rescue treatment, he was entitled a re-shoot on the ground of range/equipment failure causing him to be injured and not enabling him to finish the COF Ok, this is a case of sh*t out of luck. But even if there is no rule wich would have entitled this shooter a reshoot could a RO give him a reshoot just because it would be reasonable? And what if not the shooter but the RO was hit in the same way by the lead shaving? I case 2, Once i almost lost balance (carpeted indoorrange) because there was still brass on the range wich made me slip because while running i stepped on it. It was one of my first matches and i just felt lucky because i didn't fall. The RO took the brass i crushed and checked if it was my own brass. It wasn't the case and he asked if i wanted a reshoot. My experience and thoughts.... Adrie
  6. Which forummembers are also planning to attend Czech National Championship 2003. The shooting range in Oparany is especially prepared for the European Championship 2004. http://www.apscr.cz/cnc/index.html Match Director Josef Horejsi is als talking about : "We are also preparing some novelties for the European Championship, which should be a world premiere run in our sport, but we would like to keep these as a surprise." Greetings Adrie
  7. Skywalker i think because of the (acceptable in my revieuw) 80 minutes delay in the match schedule, the hungarian shooters from my squad got the stagebriefing together with your squad to gain some time. So they shot first My 2 teammates and the greek shooter shot this stage when you were already in the hotel i guess. Thankx for the good words
  8. After reading the story of this philippine shooter i have the cold comfort i wasn't the first one who experienced this. The story is almost an exact copy of mine. In my case i think 3 secondes delay is a good acception. It costed me about 15 stagepoints (you can see stageresults of stage 14 in level III match http://www.s-c-w.net/schwaigertrophy/schwa...aigertrophy.htm ) Another cold comfort, in the overall match result i would not move up a place. Like i said to Skywalker overthere, just take every experience with you to the next match. Greetings Adrie
  9. I suspected that you would say this Vince and i can agree with this. For an RO it is bad thing for opening himself up to accusations of favoritism. Recently your RD Kees wrote a word about the subject of claiming a reshoot when a target/penalty isn't patched or they didn't put up the steel etc. The one big advice he gave was to always end the course of fire and complain afterwards. That was in my mind at that moment but also that there could be a good reason to give a reshoot. What if the next time a spectator, or another shooter e.g. makes a call or shouts to another something that sounds like 'STOP' ? In my opinion it could be fare in certain cases to get a reshoot.
  10. Yes, i told him lynn , after finishing the stage...... and i think it should be obvious for him because in practice i did stop. Now i am thinking did i make the wrong decision by proceeding and asking afterwards. Thusfar i never had or wanted to claim a reshoot. If i stop in the middle of a stage and start discusion with the RO i heart STOP and then he also says i don't get a reshoot this stage would heve been blown entirely. Thankx for your opinion
  11. This is what happened, i would like your opinion or thoughts about it. We are with 4 shooters in an indoor range. There are 2 stages to be shot hotrange. It is the end of a 2 days match and we are the last shooters in this match. All other shooters and RO's are already in the canteen. So we are with 4 shooters and 5 people range personel, all certified NROA/IROA members I shoot the first stage and proceed to the other. After preparing myself and the gun for the upcoming longcourse the stage i already shot is being scored. When i get the beep i first shoot 4 targets from startposition and move to the next shooting position. Then in my experience i hear a shout that looks like STOP. Immediately i stop, holding gun at buckle height and downrange. Look over my shoulder and wait for the unload command. I don't get the command and the scoring RO on the former stage looks at me. I decide to shoot the stage futher and after finishing it, before time and score could be told i ask if the RO saw i was obviously distracted by the loud calling/screaming of the range personel. He says immediately i don't get a reshoot because for every shooter this was the same. I did not protest because i had the feeling this could not be very succesfull. Both shooters and RO's were tired after this long match i can understand that in their enthusiasm the match was soon ending the RO's were a little playful. But in my experience i clearly heart "STOP", what if i just stopped and didn't proceed? Now i concluded that i must have misheart this and proceeded after 3(?) seconds. I was not shooting very bad on this stage so that was sure not the reason to claim a reshoot. With the timedelay i managed to end 19th place out of 124 limited shooters. Everyone else ever saw something similar or experienced this? Greetings Adrie
  12. Julien, a little thread drift here but.... Me and some other dutch shooters would like to attend your standard nationals I have send twice an email to Claude Dubois for some information about the standard nationals. Thusfar i haven't got a replay. One of the things to know is the exact adres of the shooting range so we can plan your accomodation in the vicinity. Maybe you can provide me with some more info regarding the match or can suggest me an accomodation. Greetings Adrie btw i will never kill your joke again.
  13. Aloïs Alzheimer, was a German neurologist, skywalker knows this but he can not remember when he forgot it Greetings Adrie
  14. Hello Skywalker, it was nice to meet you and your teammates from team of fire (and your friends from Greece) I started last year with visiting level III matches through europe and it did bring me a lot of experience and fun. But me and my teammates did the same thing. We arrived thursdayevening after a 1150 km drive by car. Planned a lot of things to do in Vienna, also on saturday. That isn't the best preparation for a match but we didn't came al the way just to shoot this match! Good tip, plan these activities after the match. If you plan to seriously shoot a match, either shoot alone or shoot with equal seriously teammates. The bigger the group, the harder that will be. But you have more fun. Lack of concentration and a little fatigue of the things we did in Vienna resulted in the mistake i already told you there. Bad preparation on a 32 rounds stage. After finishing shooting the RO give me compliments for the shooting, but.... While preparing i just missed a complete target and hadnt shoot it When i told one of my teammates it seemed he hadn't noticed this target also. With my information he shot a clean stage and gained 27 stagepoints over me. In the overall results he finished 15-th place (74%) and i was 16-th with 20 matchpoints behind him.... As i told you before, every match you learn from the good and the bad things. Try to apply these experience in next matches (but only if needed) Greetings from Holland
  15. I will be shooting there. It will be the first time in Vienna for me, both shooting there and visiting this city. We will leave tomorrow morning and hope to be in Vienna thursday evening. We stay in the Etap hotel that should be 5 minutes by footh from the shooting range. Greetings from Holland Adrie
  16. The quality of brassman's product and service has already reached the netherlands as well. I always get what i want and in perfect condition. Greetings Adrie
  17. Quote: from mcoliver on 8:22 am on Feb. 23, 2003 Scenario: 1. You're moving into a position that has a swinger (already swinging) and some static targets. 2. You cannot see the state of the swinger while still moving into that position. There has to be a point while you are moving that the swinger becomes visuable. (You will have to see it to shoot at it....sometime) During the walkthrough get to know that point or move in a way that you get your eyes on the swinger as early as possible. You don't have to shoot it but while still moving and shooting the static targets you will know from wich side the target will become visuable again. And that's a great advantage. DVC Adrie
  18. Well.... Saul just started to get serieus busy with his website and he had some problems with it. It seems he doesn't archive his tips (yet) Greetings Adrie
  19. Quote: from the duck of death on 9:02 am on Feb. 12, 2003 If Glock said it wasn't affected what's the problem? That is just what i mean........
  20. IMHO for glock there are no aftermarket mags that are better then the original. Why would you buy aftermarket mags? Aren't you satisfied with the ones you have? DVC Adrie
  21. What was the name of the person at glock. (wich glock? smyrna, austria?) you talked with? DVC Adrie
