  1. The 17L is a sweet pistol for 3 gun. If you're looking to go the Glock route (for 3 gun) the 17L is the one you want. I shot one with the TTI package all last year, and it was a great, low maintenance gun. I have since switched to a 6 inch 2011. It takes more effort to keep it running (you actually need to clean the gun and mags occasionally), but the trigger can't be beat. I don't regret the switch, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Glock or TTI's work.
  2. Good plan, I have an M1 and an M2 worked over by TTI. They are both great shooters, and look pretty awesome to boot.
  3. Bud's Gun Shop shows them in stock. Use the "make offer" option for a better deal, I bought mine from there for about $1125-$1150 if I recall correctly.
  4. If I were going to use the Razor, I would get the JM reticle. Some good friends of mine use it and do very well with it. Razor vs Swaro... I would say the Swaro glass is slightly better(very slight advantage, Razor has killer glass also), and the field of view is bigger. I prefer the illumination on the Swaro, it is more of a round dot. Both are no BS daylight bright. I haven't heard of many people breaking either one, I think durability is a wash. Vortex has the advantage in warranty though. The biggest advantage the Swaro has is how much lighter it is. The Razor is kind of a brick. I like the Swaro a little bit better, but it is definitely not $1000+ better than the Vortex.
  5. The safety coming off is possible, I mitigate the risk by using a single sided safety and putting a dump bucket in my garage to practice with. It's like anything else, if you want to be fast and safe about it, you need to practice it.
  6. Non EE is the way to go, bigger field of view. The BRT reticle is the one everyone I have seen uses for 3 gun. It works really well, but I prefer the finer crosshairs of the C-more.
  7. I own a Swaro 1-6, a C-more 1-6, and have owned a Razor. It's kind of a toss up. The Razor is excellent, but very heavy. It's the clear bargain leader. The Swaro has world class glass, and is the standard by which others are judged. The C-more has a great reticle and also excellent glass and illumination. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend any of those three.
  8. Mostly capacity. My slide stops are modified to not lock back anyways, so premature lockback isn't an issue. I'm not saying you have to have 23 or 24 round mags to be competitive, but I'm not not in this game to save or make money. I want the best, most competitive equipment available.
  9. Yeah the MBX mags are not really more expensive by the time you buy followers, springs, base pads, and steel spacers. I think the new MBX mags are good, I bought mine when they first came out and haven't had any problems, the original springs were kind of weak but they ran fine.
  10. As long as a gun is reliable, reasonably accurate, and holds a bunch of bullets, it is good to go. You also need a holster that the gun won't fall out of while you're running hard. The WRS is a good one, I wish I could tell you which one would fit, but I would recommend calling them to make sure.
  11. Taking weight out of the bolt does not make a gun run lighter loads. Lightening the bolt in an inertia gun is done to make it cycle faster, making it harder to outrun the trigger. I can outrun a stock Benelli pretty repeatably, I have yet to outrun one of mine since they have had the TTI package done on them.
  12. I got to handle one of their 6 inch 9mm builds recently. It was fit beautifully, absolutely no discernable slop. I didn't get to shoot it, but the owner is really happy with it. I think his wait time was around 3-4 months, but I'm sure that's subject to change.
  13. I'm a big fan of a 6 inch gun for 3 gun. I shoot a bushing barrel 6" 9mm, the sight radius is great for the small steel targets that are typical in 3 gun.
  14. I used to be a shell catch cutter, until I realized how fast they can wear out. You can get it to load just as smooth by polishing and bending slightly as Bullittmcqueen described.
  15. Mine is cut for weak hand quads. It is super easy to load and has been 100% reliable so far, couldn't be happier with TTI's work.
  16. Anyone know if the Nightstalker Association 2 gun match mentioned in the OP is still happening, or who is running it?
  17. Taran Tactical Innovations did mine and it looks pretty damn good. I would guess they just ground it down, and probably finished with some fine sandpaper.
  18. It takes the Mobil choke tubes, but the M2 chokes will also work. They will just stick out past the barrel further. The actual threads are the same.
  19. I don't believe the Luth stock is set up to attach a monopod. I'd look but I'm not at home for the next few weeks.
  20. There are some on their website, but I pulled one out of a Magpul stock (UBR I think, it was a while back) and it fit perfect.
  21. I'm a Luth AR user, I think they are a great stock (especially for $100+ less than a PRS). They offer spacers that allow you to make your length of pull adjustment semi permanent, which also eliminates any possible flexing of the butt pad when extended. I haven't found them necessary, it's a pretty solid stock as is.
  22. Never mind, found it. Had to do an update (Duh)
  23. Which version of Strelok? I'm not seeing it in Strelok+
  24. I think it would be a blast, particularly on steel arrays instead of using a pistol. I bought a 9mm built on a DDLES Glock mag lower, but I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I'll probably run it at a local match or two this year.
