    Glock 22

Yep - I make Major out of G22 with 4.6-4.7 grains of Titegroup over a Zero 180. I actually started shooting a G35 because it's a lot easier to make Major with it, but I like the feel of the G22 better.
  2. Well I just shot one. It was a range rental. The sights will take some getting used to, but I liked it. CDNN has them new for $340 + ship. I have a line on one locally for $280. So buy new and get the warratny or buy used and save some $??? Also, the stock trigger was very serviceable. I would like to shorten the reset though. Any way to do that?
  3. eerw - is there an extended mag release available?
  4. Thanks guys. Is there an extended mag release for it?
  5. Any more comments on the M9 A1? I have a lead on one cheap. How's the trigger pull and reset? Reliablity? Mag release easy to hit? Any problems? Thanks for your thoughts!
  6. +1 Mine came with some nice, fine Truglo FO sights too. A short barreled .22lr + some Aquila Super Colibri rounds is great as well. Even quieter than my Gammo.
  7. Square peg, meet round hole... Yeah - I don't want to loose the Corgi! The last thing I need is a 150 + pounds of horny dog running around. You could lose friends quickly like that!
  8. Thanks Dave. We also have a Welsh Corgie. She's not quite sure what to think of him. I'll have Samson fixed when the time comes. The female Corgi would really hate him if we didn't have him fixed
  9. JJ - I'm very glad it ended up well in the end. Here in ATL, a guy killed two realtors in an open house last year. I'm glad you at least had your Emerson and I agree with the other comments above about supplimenting that with some Fox pepper spray and knife training. That sucks you live in a non-CCW state. You need to check your local laws, but many states have an exception for concealed carry at the person's place of business. Since you are in real estate, an open house MAY be considered your "place of business." A place to start is www.findlaw.com You may consider spending some cash and asking a criminal attorney in your state to give you an opinion on the matter. It could be money well spent. Another resource may be your Realtor Association. Good luck.
  10. I think the challenge for the sport is that you must have some knowledge of BJJ (or other ground fighting techniques) to really understand what's going on when the fight goes to the ground. If you don't, it just looks likes the fighters are rolling around on the ground. To get that knowledge - and then appreciate the sport fully - you must have some exposure to BJJ or similar art - which usually comes through working out. You could probably go to 5 BJJ classes and then have some understanding to watch intelligently, but I'm not sure how you'd get that understanding without working out at least a few times. That, IMO, is a limitation on the popularity of the ground aspect of the sport. Conversley, seeing blood flow after a guy catches a right cross to the nose is universally understood . . . and the crowd goes wild . . . An example is Sean Serk's last fight (was it against Hermes?). Sherk totally dominated in a technical ground match. The crowd was unimpressed.
  11. Great looking dog and a nice story of good karma!
  12. Great looking Danes. Give us details on them (age, gender, weight, etc). Thanks.
  13. We picked up our new Great Dane puppy today - Samson (a/k/a Sammy). 8 weeks old.
  14. That's so true. However, the MMA guys - even the top guys - are not making close to the $ that anyone in MLB, NFL or NBA is making. Right now, it's much harder for an MMA fighter to shop his worth than those other sports.
  15. Great article Patrick! You spent some serious time and thought in creating the sleds for testing. I have a TTi comp. It's very good, but it seemed like it make my 20" barrel actually dip in recoil (over compensation?). I've not tried it on my 18" or 16" barrels. I'd like to try the SJC and Benny's comp.
  16. I can't tell any diffence either. It's strange that Glock labels the 40 strikers as "40" then??

    Sports...

There was a great line from a movie (I think is was A Bronx Story). Anyway, the movie was set in the 50’s and the kid/main character is a huge Yankees and Joe DiMaggio fan. The gangster - who the kids looks up to and respects – tells the kid: “You love Joe DiMaggio? What for? DiMaggio doesn’t know or give a f**k about you.” Very true. The only pro sport I really like now is MMA.
  18. Good luck and let us know how it works out.
  19. This is always a great match and venue. I bulged a couple of dics in my back and probably won't make it this year :-( It's hell getting old! Good luck to all.
  20. I am certainly not a Ruger fan, but I agree w/ Patrick's observation that this appears to be an improvement over the P-89 9mm I once owned. Please to see additional brand competition among (soon to be approved) Production division guns. Not sure why they put a thumb safety on it though. +1 Carlos. The link in your signature line is also the reason I would not buy anything made by Ruger.
  21. IMO, this is the best forum on the Internet in many ways. However, I hate the fact that we are group of shooters and competitors and, when a member starts a “I HATE THREAD” on issues of ridicules gun control laws (e.g. Arnold AKA Girely Man), that the thread gets locked. I understand that the forum rules prohibit political postings. However, we will not have a sport or our gun-related freedoms if ridicules gun control efforts continue. These are issues that can directly affect us and our sport. I am 100% confident that we shooters, as a demographic, are one of the most law-abiding groups around. Are we so politically correct that it’s become impermissible to stick up for our rights and sport? If so, we are joining our society’s cowardly march toward relativism and allowing a paternalistic government to infringe the rights of law-abiding citizens for the “greater good” – and that I HATE. Please don’t lock this thread.
