  1. Thanks, I will give that a try, it only needs to move in a slight amount. I wasn't worried about the DOH until I was planning to attend a state match last year, before going measured it and ended up using a standard SRB holster. Everyone was telling me it was legal but the last thing I wanted to be concerned about was someone tapping me on the shoulder wanting to measure the holster.
  2. I have the Blade Tech DOH holster and I am a bit confused. I keep hearing they are legal but when I measure as per the rule USPSA rule book, Appendix E2, on a CR Speed belt the distance comes up over the 2 inches allowed by 1/4 inch. If measured when wearing on a street wear type belt it falls under the 2 inches. Am I measuring this incorrectly when using the CR belt or reading more into this than there really is?
  3. I have been using the 1.2 QT Sterilite boxes sold at Wal-Mart for over a year and they work well. I use CED range bags, a Professional size and their Compact Travel size; the Sterilite boxes fit comfortable in the center section. 300 rounds of 9mm or 175 rounds of 45 ACP fit in that size box.
  4. One other aspect of SP 45 I like, folks at the range are quick to return it to me. At the last three matches shooters who picked up my SP 45 brass during previous matches handed me small bags of it that had gotten mixed in with theirs.
  5. I wrote to Dillon about this episode when that issue of Blue Press first arrived because that guy's letter was the biggest crybaby letter I had read in years of reading Blue Press. In this particular instance only the operator can be blamed and not the brass. Dillon's response - The other factor is that it's entirely possible the gentleman who wrote the letter may be violating the Dillon warranty by automating his reloader. THE main reason we VOID the warranty when people add electric motors to our equipment is that the motor can't "feel" when something isn't right.
  6. Midway has managed a 100% success rate in shipping packages that are delivered with damaged goods. Now before you rush out and blame UPS or the USPS the fault lies with the way Midway has packed the boxes. Any idiot should know that if you put light weight items in a box that also contains heavy items then a bit more than a few air bags are needed to protect the items in the box. Last week I received two Lyman Sonic cleaners, one had a RCBS die set sticking out of side of the Lyman box. The plastic die set box was crushed on one side from beating against the outside edge of the shipping container. Today received a backed ordered item that had been stuffed in a lightly padded envelop, arrived crushed. I could go on and list every shipment we have received in the past few months, something in each was damaged. Being in the mail order business myself I know that these problems originate with Midway's shipping department because if packed properly none of this would have happened. This continual shoddy shipping is why I will no longer be ordering from Midway. Midway knows it is their problem but are unwilling to take the corrective steps to fix it. Must be why they will not allow comments about shipping on their website.
  7. Interesting, in the past few months I have loaded approximately 7000 45ACP, 8000 9mm and just this morning 500 30-06 on a 650 with not one problem with the priming system. I would have never guessed the priming system was junk while I was doing that.
  8. I am a senior and this sounds interesting but with the local club having three matches per month I do not have any reason to travel nor desire to shoot in higher level matches. It isn't about the money but more to do with enjoying the group I shoot with locally.
  9. I'm going to have to have one of those. If for nothing else to see the ROs face when he sees it.
  10. Jack, The Thompson Collectors Association show and shoot offers a course of fire very similar to a USPSA match each year at its annual event. Same is true for the subgun match at the Knob Creek shoots. Both are very enjoyable.
  11. Makes me wonder if that is not someone's personal opinion coming through rather than that of the organization.
  12. Glad you posted that information, I was considering a local match with proceeds going to WWP. Looks like I will check with Toys for Tots tomorrow.
  13. While I appreciate BE providing this forum I have to say those hammering the OP for voicing his complaint have convinced me to send my order on Monday direct to Dillon rather than BE simply because if I have a problem I will be allowed without being attacked to post my concerns about it.
  14. for 650, its pushing all the way up. 1050, seating primers are down stroke. You are correct.
  15. The only thing I can think of is you are not pulling all the way down on the operating handle.
  16. I only sort my brass for signs of damage and to separate the LP from the SP. I use Dillon dies and have experienced no problems with them.
  17. I'm in the same boat. 9mm FS shoots just fine, it has somewhere between 2500-3000 rounds through it. 9mm Pro doing well with approximately 1500 rounds fired. I have a M&P 45 FS also, all three are used in matches with no problems.
  18. The club in Corinth shoots USPSA, no IDPA.
  19. I regularly use a sonic cleaner, to dry the brass I put the pieces in a stainless steel pan and lay it out in the sun. Normally takes about an hour or so to completely dry the brass. Pan is only used for this purpose.
  20. Very good point, I should have mentioned that since I spent part of the early part of the day sort SP from LP. Loading predominantly 9mm on a 650 I actually prefer the SP 45 since it eliminates the added step of changing out the primer system.
  21. Some people report problems with various brands of brass some don't. I have yet to identify any particular brand of brass I shoot in 45 ACP that gives consistent problems. I have been reloading for over 30 years so it just may be that I have been lucky. Steel imported cases are to be avoided. The primary thing to look for when inspecting cases are splits in the brass and deep dings.
  22. Had a similar problem a few months ago turned out to be the primer indexing arm spring tab on the indexing arm breaking off. Called Dillon and they sent two indexing arm replacements. If you have access to a 650 manual these parts are shown on page 53, #6 and 11. The part to check is the curved arm that the spring slips over, shown in the manual diagram.
