  1. I don't think that there were any firearms involved but one of our number had his truck stolen from the motel parking lot. That bit of news sort of makes the cable lock under the seat a little iffy. Put the guns in your man-bag and take them with you to dinner. If the wiseguys give you heartburn about your "purse", tell them to just think of it as a really roomy holster. David C
  2. Sorry I got this off-topic. David C
  3. The cowboys at SASS have rules for this kind of stuff. Start position, required hits (or not) timer visible through out, etc. Take a look at: http://www.jspublications.net/records/records.html That would make a great thread here on the BEnoverse. David C
  4. Mark, I want to hear the WHOLE story about "Johnson 3-Gun, Some Assembly Required". David C
  5. Oh dear...is that like when the RO says, *IF* you are finished, disassemble and show clear... David C I personally have never done such a thing... Edited to do that spell check thingy...
  6. To Jake's advice add this from Steve Anderson's book: DRAW the stage layout and show the firing points and reloading points. From Master Jamie: It is all about where your feet are. Find those points and rehearse getting there. These three tips have saved my bacon several times this year. David C
  7. Squad 7 rocked! They hauled off a truck load of wood. Great shooting with you guys and getting to "know" the real people behind the avatar's Big thanks to the match staff and everyone that worked so hard to make this match a success. We were in shooting Nivarna, air conditioning, great sound system, awards AND prize table going on at the same time. Wowee! See you next year. David C
  8. I hope my shooting is as smooth as this waitlist process. "You waitlist slot for the Open, Limited 10 nationals has been accepted and paid, your list slot will be mailed shortly. You must complete this slot form and mail it back to USPSA HQ to complete the registration process". Only 100 days to go! David C
  9. That is interesting, you moved up 10 places and I moved only 7 in the same time period? Must be an IBM count. More likely somebody didn't pay up at the start> David C
  10. Thanks to your hard work we don't have to rely on Uncle Sugar's USPS. Talk about "imperfect" (as in 12 day delivery of Priority mail). I should get notification of slot availability about the same time the "gument" gets me my tax rebate and they had a two month head start! Internet life is good. David C
  11. Rob did a great job with this list this year. Went much smoother and without the mystery. Wowee #22 David C
  12. Not Me said the lonely mouse. It will be hard for you to quit now Jamie, since you are an experienced, semi-pro party maven. David C
  13. Arrows? All we had was a big stick. Come to think of it that big stick is all that is keeps me going in Open... David C
  14. Where do you get them? Midway USA http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=918352 Delivered to your door cheaper than a drive out to Wally World. They also have the WinLite: http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...leitemid=919582 David C
  15. The design of the COF did not have anything to do with my DQ! I have played the mental tape over and over and now have a good idea of what went on. Anything I say further will likely be considered an excuse. There is no excuse. I pulled the trigger on the “If you are finished…” command. I will back, safer than ever, next year. See you on the range. David C
  16. First match in a long while where there was NO Monkey Motions at all! And I only managed two stages. Squad 1 was the best all-around bunch that I never shot with. Next time we will do the whole match Cajun Style. A DQ is not the end of life as we know it...but it does feel like it for a while. Next year for sure, David C
  17. Please note that Stage 6 has been radically revised. See you at the range. David C
  18. And that goes double if you are reloading inside a cave! David C
  19. As usual DTC was…different. If only I had followed Master Jamie’s advice to “respect the targets”. On the positive side, I did not fall down (not an uncommon occurrence) and got all my hits in the cave (I don’t do low light well). Many thanks to Robert and all the RO’s and other unsung hero’s that put up this event. We will be back. I start the count up for consecutive stages without a miss or a procedural today at…1. David C
  20. Any? LOTS… The “.222 Special” had been in production since 1957. The .223 Remington was produced in lots of 10,000 as early as 1958 and Colt had been marketing the AR in Asia since late 1959. The Air Force was testing AR-15’s at Lackland AFB in 1960. ...and in November 1963 I was just 5 months away from enlisting... David C
  21. Why y'all gotta waste my flava? Damn! A 10 minute forcast is about right for this part of Texas. David C
  22. If you want to run a hot rod Glock, John and Steave are the BEST guys to turn to. Another very satisfied customer. David C
  23. That is great! A match I can get to without leaving two days early. Folks down there know how to put on a match. David C
  24. Yup, I just calculated that my dentist bill cost me the Texas State Open and possibly Area 2 (assuming I get a slot). That just sux. David C
