Thanks for the clarification, Rob... So - with that... I'm going to make an executive decision and say, NPMs don't count I personally don't want to sit there and add up everyone's hits, etc... Great! That just leaves the cost of the Delta's (.50 or a buck?) and we can put this puppy to bed. David C

How do you guys keep your glasses clean?

The folks at Unique Tek support our sport and they carry this anti-fog product that is really superior. http://www.uniquetek.com/site/696296/product/T1246 They are often at major events and have products for sale and usually a bucket of samples of this particular product. Don't know if they will be at the Nats in Tulsa but check the vendor tent. Great folks all around. David C -
The RO calls "X# No Penalty Mike" and the score keeper would note that on the score sheet. That is how you know all the targets are scored completely. The data entry folks however, don't need to do anything when they encounter an empty box or one with "NP" noted and there is nothing recorded. But I may be missing something. David C

They don't. That was my point. David C

+ 1 on that. BUT... Counting the NPM's puts a lot more work on Dave because they don't show up in the online scoring. The only place that the NPM shows up is on the actual score sheet. Dave can look at the standings and quickly determine the Delta's, NS and Mikes to get the totals. This is the key to the online score sheet: Key to headings Stage number suffix: P, R, S = Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun Heading Meaning A, B, C, D Hit count M Miss NS No Shoot P Procedural DP Double point value poppers DM Misses on double point value poppers LS Late shot (Fixed time only) XS Extra shot (Virginia Count/Fixed Time only) XH Extra hit (Virginia Count/Fixed Time only) AP Additional penalty Stg Pts Stage Points Place Place of finish on stage I vote for .50 cent Deltas and to keep the old system of NOT counting NPM's. That keeps all the targets in play. David C

Just a mental note for Open shooters. I watched EG's dvd from the Europe match. He was making up Delta hits. When I make up Deltas the RO usually lets me choose which one I want to count. David C

Dave is right, this adds another way to enjoy the match and to meet some really good shooters who are willing to take your money. I have no chance of winning the pot but it is fun to hear conversations and meet the folks. Bring a roll of quarters and play. Count me in again Dave. David C

Squad 32 OL10, will definitely ROCK! I am delighted to get to shoot with such high quality folks. Some may not be thrilled to see me again...as I get somewhat..eh..vocal... when folks forget that we have the steel settingest, target tapingest squad on the whole damned range! Other than that I am a pretty laid back kind of guy. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. David C Edit to add: The line: "the steel settingest, target tapingest squad on the whole damned range" shamelessly stolen from Jerry Miculek who also had the best line from the 2007 nationals: "If you ain't wreckin', you ain't racin'."

National Open/L10 Stages

No-shoot count will most probably not be accurate - some will usually be added along the way as they tweak the stage setups... True, and the ratio of NS to available targets is about one in four (about the same as 2007). There is a real difference this year (aside from those noted above) and that is the use of hard cover. In 2007 there were 70 targets with hard cover (both real and simulated). In 2008 the there are just three (3) REAL hard cover targets and ZERO simulated hard cover. So far. -

That was about all I could discern from the drawing. I should have added: Your milage may vary, results not typical, subject to change and my fav rejoiner of all time from Smitty in Florida: "FROM OUR LEGAL DEPARTMENT - Actual stages on the ground may or may not appear exactly as the stages depicted on this website. In fact they may or may not look anything remotely similar to the stages depicted on this website. The FL State match hereby releases itself from any liability, fault, blame, or care of poor performance from a competitor due to correct or incorrect, similar or not similar, kinda looks like or don't look nothin' like depictions on this website. FROM OUR LEGAL TRANSLATION DEPARTMENT - "If you blow a stage, it's your own damn fault." You guys know the drill, we did our best, but they may look a little different." David C -

OL10 stats as I have them so far: 29 moving targets (includes 2 on a single zip line) 55 no shoots 6 stages without movers 3 stages with classic targets No TX* No dummy (insert your exception here) No prop tossing No monkey motions at all Looks like we will have to get by on shooting skill Feel free to correct my math or observations. +1 They have the venue (lots o' space) They have the experience (they did the first annual Caveman One-spear Championship) They have stuff (I think they invented the roller coaster) They have the folks (and lots of them) They WILL put up a great match. "They" are "The guys and gals from San Angelo...working their tails off to build a hell of a match." David C -
Stage 12 (Short. Sweet Ride) is a bit confusing. The stage scoring states: Comstock, 22 rounds, 110 points. The stage procedure says: String One: On Signal, Engage Target T1 with 6 rounds Only Freestyle String Two: On Signal, Engage Target T2 with 6 rounds Only Strong Hand Only String Three: On Signal, Engage Target T3 with 6 rounds Only Weak Hand Only That would be Virginia count, 18 rounds, 90 points. This is probably right, I think? David C

Just for fun I converted the Multi-gun Nationals application to the Area 4 Championship application in MS Word then made a PDF of same. I can send both just about anywhere in two (2) minutes. David C -

I am trying to plot the hotels and travel time. Is the match schedule typically: register on Friday, shoot 8 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday then do the awards? David C -
Get well quick Master, we need your guidence down the path to greatness! And we miss that razor sharp wit! David C

The mods need to merge this with the "monkey motions, carnival props" threads. OH, and add "low light" to the list for all of us that have old eyes. David C
