  1. I mounted my Safariland 012 using 2 ELS mounts and it works great!
  2. Clint would do well with anything he shoots. Voigt and Miculek still use tube guns as did the percentage of top ten open guys at multigun nationals. If you could own 2 Saigas one for Match only and one for practice that might help but is kind of spendy. We all know shooters using Saigas that are long in the tooth and are extremely prone to malfunction. If you practice with the tubes they are very fast. If a stages permits a little movement between shooting arrays then there is time to load a tube gun and the hi capacity of the Saigas is nullified. Benellis start with 14 rounds which give ample time to find a spot in a course of fire to load more. I will agree that a gas gun would be softer to shoot for the recoil sensitive.
  3. The top open guys still run tube guns. Get a Benelli, no need to reinvent the wheel.
  4. There is no problem flying with ammo as long as you stay under the weight allowed. I generally ship most of my ammo to the hotel which has always worked out well. I fly with enough ammo to sight in at the match as we always go to the range first and then to the hotel where my shipped ammo is.
  5. I was using Auto comp for a minor load but it ended up being REALLY dirty. I switched to Clays and its incredibly clean.
  6. I have used airline travel for 6 matches and my Pelican storm case has 4 lock points. I only run 2 locks without any problems…..yet
  7. Mine arrived Friday and I mounted it on my JP 22 rim fire. I run a Swarovski on my competition rifle so the Primary Arms is in stiff company. I shot a couple hundred rim fire through it yesterday and it seems very good. It always makes me feel good when you mount a scope on a good quality gun with good mount (JP) and it sights in with little adjustment. My first impression is very positive and I am going to recommend the Primary Arms scope to a friend. I suspect I will end up owning more than just one.
  8. Tumble clean On 550B Resize-deprime-trim (Dillon 1200) Wash and dry in Birchwood Casey Brass cleaner Load on 550B
  9. JP makes a great mount. I would keep a 1x main optic even with a side mounted red dot. There a plenty of times the 1x is a much better choice on a given course of fire.
  10. I use the Safariland 013 and like it very much. I also shoot 3 gun and the 013 works great while competing in 3 gun where confidence in pistol retention is critical.
  11. I have used the QLS mount adapter on my old Safariland 13 holster and it works great. So pick a holster you like and use the adapters.
  12. Todd, Is this red dot going on a rifle, Shotgun or pistol?
  13. Solomon Speedcross with Solomon gators to keep rocks and stuff out.
  14. I never leave powder in mine. It takes less than 30 seconds to empty it into the appropriate powder canister…the only one that should be on your bench at that time.
  15. I run a Fastfire II on my open rifle and have no complaints. It’s not like a guy is shooting precision shots with it. I also run a FastsfireIII on by shotgun. I just received a new C-more RTS for my new Open 9 which a will play with next week.
  16. I run a JP with a 20 inch and its seems heavy....until the buzzer goes off! I have a new JP 18” but do not plan on playing with it until after this season is over. I think the weight help me.
  17. I haven't spoken to my wife in years. I didn't want to interrupt her
  18. Thanks Mike, Great shooting by the way. As for humor, it seems someone always gets their feelings hurt and this time was no different. I apologize to anyone that was offended by my humor, it was not meant to hurt or degrade, but to make people smile. I guess next year Scott will do all the talking and I'll just stand there with my mouth shut, which is not easy for me. Doug I sure missed it. It’s a shame that whatever your comment was could not be taken in the light of the moment which was in good fun and it was FUN! Some people are WAY too sensitive.
  19. I had been having stove pipes in my super the last 2 matches and my gunsmith installed a Aftec for the NWMGC and its running 100% now. AFTEC!!
  20. I second the Outers foul out. When you think you have the lead out put it on a foul out and be prepared to be amazed.
  21. Is anybody out there using the Patrick Flanigan 930 Rhythm Signature Series for open class? Or had a chance to shoot one?
  22. Yes thanks Robert for the transfers. I bought some of Roberts damn 4inch knock downs after the match to get ready for next year!
  23. Big thanks to Doug and Scott for their determination to make this the most fun match of the year! Their attitude about having fun and comradely showed in the match from ½ day formats to the fun and challenging stage designs. Getting to use all 3 guns on ever stage was really fun! ROs can have a huge bearing on if a match is fun or not and this bunch of hard working ROs made this match fun and relaxing. So HUGE KUDOs to the RO staff!!! A great match needs great sponsors and they were generous so thank you. Very special thanks to Colt, Colt competition for being INCREDIBLY generous. I thought Doug did a great job as master of ceremony, who knew he had a sense of humor….. Mike Czebotar
