  1. For what its worth, I purchased one from Warren at Protocall and it's been awesome. I used his recommended .100 Wide and .250 Tall. I've put several hundred rounds through it before and after Revo Nats this year and it's stayed in place. No complaints or problems what so ever.
  2. All, I just purchased a stock 2 and was looking around and saw the Tanfo extreme sear cage, sear, EGD hammer ect... anyone know how much better these parts are, is it going to make that much of a difference in performance? I'm a Tango Newb (been shooting limited primarily and just starting production) so I have no clue if these will help the trigger pull, be more durable or what... any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  3. There is a club in Cody, not 100% sure when the matches are aside from Sundays.
  4. all the ones I've seen have been between the $650 and $690 price tag. I've been looking into them as well but haven't sprung on one yet so I don't know much past the price.
  5. Never listened to the podcast but I always assumed it was because of all the CZC parts that AA uses. He says something to the effect that his shop is smaller so they don't produce the quantity CZC does, apparently it's just Mink and one or two other smiths. I'll have to go back and listen to his explanation again before I start putting words in his mouth.
  6. I have a SP01 from Automatic Accuracy and Ive been impressed by it. I bought it from a friend (so I'm the 2nd owner). I talked to Matt about some issues I was having with it and he went above and beyond helping me get that bad boy up and running (even though I didn't buy the thing from him) so I'll be ordering a target shadow from Mr. Mink in the next week. When it comes to any gun it honestly comes down to personal preference. I've had the good fortune of shooting CZs from CZ Custom and Automatic Accuracy and I think they're both outstanding. I'm choosing to go with Mink because of the service I received having not even been a customer. Mink explains the price differentials in a podcast (it's Ben Stoeger's podcast, if you search for practical pistol show and matt's name on youtube it should be easy to find). Hope this helped.
  7. I used the Ranch Co (or whatever they're called) for a while and they work but they are loose. I have some stainless TK Customs and they've been awesome. Very tight with federal brass.

    929 ?

For what it's worth, I had some issues with mine. Really poor trigger, and some other things that I had to address. The gun is accurate and fun to shoot. I was fortunate enough to have been on Tom (of TK Custom fame) and Eli (Tom's grandson) squad at revo nationals. I sent my 929 in to them and now it's awesome.
  9. I purchased a 625 JM pro a couple years ago.. after less than 500 rounds the hammer pin broke (cheap MIM part). They sent me a new gun which was nice but it took damn near 4 months. I recently purchased a 929 and have been having problems with it as well. Two revolvers purchased and both have had issues... not happy with S&W at all.
  10. I'm on the North Mountain wagon as well. Not a great revolver shooter but they've worked great the last two or three seasons or so.
  11. Ok, Got a 929, and a fiber optic sight for it. I know it needs to be drilled out but I'm not sure how to accomplish this (aside from the obvious putting a hole in it via a drill). Any one know the procedure? Roll pin size, Drill bit size? etc... any help would be appreciated.
  12. I recently purchased a 929 and would like to replace the front sight. I'm fairly certain it's a patridge style sight. I was just curious if you knew what height I would need. I'm interested in the narrow red fiber optic sight you had posted on the "old sight thread". Thanks in advance for your time.

  14. Just got back from Barry to MT. I have to say I didn't shoot any where near where I am capable but I had a hell of a good time at both the Single Stack and Revo matches. Revo was a huge eye opener. Shooting a stock 625 showed me a lot of things I need to work on to improve my game. We had an awesome squad for the revo match to include Mr. Doug Carden of DC Ammo. A big thanks to him for all his helpful advice. I'll be going again next year.
  15. +1, I haven't tried them all but I've used the BMT for my 625 and it makes things very very easy.
  16. What do ya'll mean by rubber bands? LIke the therabands? and what exercises. I've had bad tendonitis since I wrestled in high school and it's been gettting increasingly worse with age (and the fact that I don't take it easy when it flares up). Thanks!
  17. I try to keep one belt for each division I shoot. Dosn't always workout as I seem to add a new division every year lately. If you want to run one rig I've heard great things about the Safariland ELS system. Easy to change out and move equiptment.
  18. +1 to the Lifeproof. I've dumped mine into water several times (on accident and to prove it's water proof to a point). Dropped it several times on Ice and concrete and the phone is still 100%.
  19. I have one on a 13.7 inch barrel, I've never tried it on a 16, and it seems to keep the muzzel down. It feels like it directs all the recoil straight down the gun into the shoulder as opposed to that 1 to 2 o'clock rise. I used it in one 3 gun match and didn't have any problems and I have several thousand rounds through it in training, hog hunting and on the range plinking and I've never had a complaint. It seems to be easier on the ears than other comps/breaks/flash suppressors. Hope that helps.
  20. +1 I have a Cameron's Custom 6" and it runs flawlessly, Only a couple thousand rounds through it but I love it.
