  1. sometimes it is a bear to get the new grip to work with the bushings and screws too
  2. OK guys, here it is, the challenge: If you got a bike as kid and enjoyed it, if you have one now, if you just want to do something nice for someone else... PLEASE go down to Walmart and buy a $50-$100 bike, add a $10 helmet, and a $3 lock...take it to your fire station, Marine Corps office, Toys for Tots, etc. and leave it there for distribution to a kid who will get it for Christmas. All of us in this sport are so fortunate, and we could miss a meal out, or a movie, or drinks and make someone's holiday very special. I bought mine on Sunday, get yours and post back here to let others know. This isn't just for those of you who posted, but lurkers too. Mods, if this is more appropriate elsewhere, feel free to move it. Thanks, Mike
  3. I would like to hear about those special bicycles of Christmas past. The first one I recall was maroon with a fire-flame banana seat and chrome fenders, but hey it was the '70s. Rode it down the street on December 25th, and pretty much every sunny day thereafter. Took me places I needed to go, wanted to go, and got me out of there in a hurry sometimes too.
  4. I have bought 3 of the sleep number beds, a King, a Queen, and a Twin, and they are awesome for your back and getting a good nights sleep.
  5. NOTHING, CLICK ON THEM TO REVEAL THE WORDS, AND THE EAGLE WAS A .357 BY HIS OWN ADMISSION WHEN THEY PICKED HIM UP FOR POINTING IT AT SHANE AND HIS FAMILY.
  6. Howard, take a deep breath, follow them home, beat out their foglamps with a 3 iron, go on to bed. Seriously, before the old guys start talking about using 6V headlamps in their 12V cars!
  7. Capacity restrictions do not apply to the pistol, only overall length of the mag. Shotgun has a restriction to a certain number of rounds. The rifle is not currently limited. I wouldn't care if it stayed this way. Good stages, and reasonable round counts will rule out the advantage of the beta mag. I personally like my DPMS 45 rounders, and the new Nordic Pmag extensions, and think they are practical. My guess is that no one will win any match because the had the most rounds in the gun.
  8. OK, I support no restrictions, but USPSA limits stages to 32 rounds and that is reasonable. "Outlaw" 3gun doesn't have this limit in most cases, and I see no real need for it. I have yet to see a high round count stage where reloading was too much trouble and the beta was a real advantage but my exposure may be limited.
  9. "How much memory does that thing have?" "I've done worse." Man it is just getting interesting.
  10. I saw one of these a while back in...well...um...Arizona. They put an Americanized bolt release on the left side of the reciever, kinda, well, strange if you ask me.
  11. Call me tomorrow Howard, I just bought my Surefire K can and I know a guy who may have one in stock. Nothing else compares if you still want to use a comp and switch between guns IMO.
  12. I shoot it less than I intend to. I should have shot it leading up to Area 2, but didn't. Not sure if I could have given me the extra 1% I needed if I had shot that gun leading up to it or not. I used to like it as a second gun, but the match I shot with 2 runs has shut down, and I have fallen victim to staying in the Limited race where there are more shooters in my peer group at the local matches. Since Steel1212 is running a Single Stack/Production/Revolver match on the fifth weekends, I am looking forward to the end of the month.
  13. Nordic P-Mag extension DPMS 45rd Sudden Death/Jeff Gordon All good alternatives. All reliable. 2-4 more rounds in the P-Mag extension FWIW.
  14. Yes, PMT has closed its doors, but there are some of the Quik Strippers headed my way, and they will be on the Shooters Connection website as soon as I get them. For now, we are out of stock, and taking pre-orders. All of the parts PMT made will be coming back to the market under a new company name, with the designer of the shooting stuff at the helm. If money is an issue, get the CC, if you want the rock-solid best, then PMT will again be available. BTW, I also used CC for many years, and so did Steve, that is why he designed his quik stripper.
  15. Progressive Machine Quik Strippers have features that were designed around legitimate needs that the CC did not provide. The first being that they are adjustable in width for the proper length of shotshell, not all 2 3/4 inch shells are the same length. Second, they have a spring that provides constant tension, even when they are only partially full, this keeps the rounds from rattling, separating, moving, and falling out while running. Third, they have a Blade-tech Teklok to secure them to any belt, and give the ability to add or remove them from a rig you are already wearing. Fourth, they are anodized aluminum and quality machined, not breakable plastic. If you borrow one of these for five minutes and compare them to the CC, you will likely see the difference, and consider it a long term investment.
  16. This was an awesome match, thanks to all who worked it. I really enjoyed shooting on squad 7 with a great group of people. Special thanks to Wilson Combat for making this match happen for me. Congrats to Mike Lin, who edged me out in single stack for the win. My first Area 2 Desert Classic, but definitely not my last. I was happy to get through this match with only 2 mikes and a no shoot FWIW.
  17. If I had used it, I would tell you, but I ended up finding a deal on Hotwire for an Avis mid-sized economy class car including 250 miles per day for Thursday thru Sunday for about $80. It is offsite from the airport, but only 8 miles. Couldn't force myself to look any further.
  18. Corey, Bolen 3mm may fit the box. Bring your stuff over next week and we'll try it. I too am interested in something other than flat plastic.
  19. Heading out in the morning on the great taxi in the sky, Southwest. Looking forward to shooting the skinny gun for a few days!
